Meh, his spiral was kind of wobbly... :peek:

(Now if you'll excuse me, I need to clean the urine out of my drawers...)

I don't think this is as big of a deal as tomorrow.  If he can throw on consecutive days, without pain, then he will be close IMHO.  Still nice to see him finally throwing a football though.

I love how the reporter was like "OMG, he threw a football?!?" :D

Thrilled to be wrong on this. Let's see if he throws all 3 days or if he's still on an every other day routine.

He said he hasn't thrown The Duke. Has he been throwing the college ball all this time?

This is great news.  His projection to be at training camp with no governor (restrictions) seems on pace now.  He appears to be on a throwing program of sorts, with a distance limit and pitch count. Question is, how long has he been on it, how far along is he, and how long before he's completely cleared for full live 11 on 11 drills or scrimmage work? We'll know more at training camp.  As long as he doesn't encounter any more serious problems (I'm sure he'll have minor things to work through/overcome) until then, It looks really good for the Colts right now.  Quite pleased and my cautiously optimistic outlook has changed to just optimistic now.

Cautiously optimistic, let's see how he feels by Friday morning.

He's supposed to speak with the media after practice, so hopefully that'll provide some clarity on his timeline moving forward.

Might be a little early for long stretches of consecutive days.  From what he did (reported) he performed at a phase I level of an interval throwing program.  Weight training is supposed to be done on throwing days as well, and there is typically a day off between each throwing session; for rest and flexibility.

"The unit has a grueling campaign that inches closer daily. I shall be ready."

So if he doesn't throw in consecutive days for the time being, don't everyone freak out please.

{EDIT:} We also do not know all that goes on behind those closed doors. Hopefully it is even better news than they shared with us today.

For someone who is more familiar with the type of rehab he was doing...is this really that much different?

Yay!

I'll let others bring the rational skepticism to the table... I'm in Irsay "multiple Lombardis" mode, right now.

College ball is wider around the middle. And it's not The Duke, so, a technicality.

Edit: I just fact checked this, I guess there is no size difference. I always felt the NCAA ball is wider than the NFL ball, but it seems they're both supposed to be 7 inches.

Except for Brady's which are slightly smaller.

Like I said previously I think I will just stick with what Ballard and Reich have been telling us this whole offseason.

Glad we don't have to depend on anybodies "theory" now!

True, but I expect him to be vague.  However, his actions (limited amount of soft toss) and tweet already hinted IMHO-

"The unit has a grueling campaign that inches closer daily."

Stay on pace Andrew...

I suppose the NFL balls would appear to be smaller if you only watched Patriot games...            :)

The ball he threw is actually a high school football-

Youth (Size 8): For ages 12 - 14

Junior (Size 7): For ages 10 - 12

    • I'm actually dropping the jags D in favour of the patriots D. I don't like the jags D versus the new bills that have two weeks to prepare.    Right now I've for Ari for this week, Mia for 12,  KC for 13, NE for 16 and backup on all my weeks except for 15. Which I plan on getting Den or Buf for 14 & 15.
    • Gurley already got that, $45M actually. You need to do some research.
    • Luck is 9-0 vs the Titans let's make it 10
    • We've talked about it a lot this year.     Especially in August and September.    Ballard brings in all these kids and he has to see what he has.    How do the kids do in real games?   This past week,  we had Smith make a rare penalty in the 3rd quarter and suddenly we're facing 1st and 20.   The very next play works to perfection...   the J'Ville defense clears out and Hines is all by himself in the middle of the field.    Luck's pass is perfect but Hines turns his head to run with the ball before he catches it.    Dropped.     If he caught it,  he might have run a long, long way.   The next series,  a well conceived pass play finds Luck hitting Allie-Cox with a great pass.     Allie-Cox looks the ball into his hands,  but it goes through his hands, off his chest protector, bounces off and gets intercepted.     The perfect play works perfectly right up to the moment where it doesn't.   That's what kids do.     They make mistakes under pressure in big games.   This is the bad with the good.     If you're looking for Reich and Ballard to bench these guys --- you're going to wait a long time.   The kids still need to play.     The more experience they get this year,   the better they will be NEXT YEAR.   And that's what this year is about.     Making next year,  and the years after them,  as good as can be.   So, if we see more mistakes from the kids Sunday,   don't be too surprised and don't get freaked out.    It's what happens when you play the kids.   And Ballard and Reich know it.   Should be a great game Sunday!!
    • Of course you wouldn't mind.    Problem is,  it wouldn't happen.   What has Hooker done to warrent trading a 1st or a 2nd round pick?      Not nearly enough.   Right now,  we'd be lucky to get more than a 4.   Hooker isn't going anywhere...
