All Colts Head Coach Discussions (merge) The Indianapolis Colts Are Officially Eliminated From The 2017 Playoffs

With 4 weeks still left to play, the Colts are officially eliminated from the 2017 playoffs.

Colts fall to 3-9.

Coaching overhaul likely to come soon. The only question left is do the Colts wait until seasons end or pull the trigger now.

Shortly, the Indy media will start chattering and predicting Pagano’s last day.

My guess is Irsay and Ballard ride out the last 4 games. I don't see a late season coaching change. The coordinators I think are more in jeopardy "should" a firing happen

Can you name a coordinator or coach that you think is deserving of returning in 2018?

Nope. But I think the odds of seeing a coordinator fired mid season is higher than a HC

I expect the new head coach will want to hire people he knows and respects.  It is a very big task to hire an entire new staff.

cant think of very many players who are deserving of returning

Eleven individuals without a coherent plan can't beat an NFL team very often no matter how much talent they have.  My guess is most of our players would do well with good coaching.

I have wanted Pagano fired for almost three seasons now. He's a nice guy and has good relations with his players, but terrible game manager.

I would have to think Chris Ballard wants to bring his own staff in, but if he doesn't, next year is just going to be another wasted season like this year. Even with Andrew Luck back.

Getting a coaching staff is a tall order.

Yes. Which makes this completely unacceptable.

The usual standard hasn't been met, and changes need to be made.

The "usual standard" hasn't been met for the past three years.  Third straight non-winning season under Chuck Pagano.  The "usual standard" around here is mediocrity right now.

I’m right there with you man. This is long overdue. Pagano and whoever he employs are perennial under achievers. He should have left when Grigson did and never been extended.

I think shotty and possibly Chuck stays. Dont care either way if Chuck goes really but Shotty has shown his worth.

I think If Chuck stays Shotty probably does too.  But I don't think he has clearly shown his worth.  Brissett is still making some of the same mistakes he made in his earlier starts.  I was expecting more progress than he has shown.   He has a long way to go IMO.

I was unable to watch the game today but it appears I didn’t miss much.  Been a bad week for football with Wisconsin, Miami and the Colts losing...... meh...

You missed Quincy Wilson finally getting some playing time when Desir got hurt and did not return.

You also missed a wacky PAT miss where Josh Lambo stepped over the football.
