I've been wondering about him too. Haven't seen anything in the way of rumors of him retiring or visiting other teams. Maybe the Colts are having his knees checked out thoroughly and still thinking of re-signing him? I'd love to see him back in a horseshoe helmet if he's healthy.

Slauson will at the bare minimum add some grit and some

leadership to the young line. AC is a vet but it is always good to ad another sharo

mind and experienced guy especially on the interior. 

 

Add in that hat he’s been a team captain and a guy generally respected by his teammates and it makes the signing a good move as we try to rebuild the line.

Matt Slauson's PFF grade in 2016 before his injury in 2017 ranked 19th overall among offensive lineman. PFF grades are not as accurate after a player has been injured so his #49 overall ranking this year is not accurate as he got injured in week 7 against the Broncos. I would be happy with this signing but only if it was for cheap. Definitely a short-term solution, but that's okay.

He's a body I guess.  We need O-lineman so hard to knock too much.  On the wrong side of 30 but it's a start. At least he will provide a veteran presence.

It's not something that's got me popping champagne, and I had hoped for something a little "sexier" this offseason, but an in all, probably a decent addition to our O-line. 

He has experience, doesn't cost an arm and a leg and it's a short term deal.

I like the signing. We have a true pro here. Maybe past his prime but still serviceable and can help teach the youngsters on technique and hand placement etc. A few more vet signings and we will be able to go any direction in the draft.

I have found that it’s much easier to just respond to all threads regarding newly acquired players with one word.... BallardBall.
