If he stays healthy and we can re-sign Adams and draft a good young safety that would be a big help. Safety is rather thin in the draft though I believe.

I was asking because I wasn't sure if they were freak injuries or injuries that could be nagging the rest of his career.

I mean I'm pretty sure it was a broken foot last year. I don't know why people think someone is more prone to a broken bone than others. It happens. Unless you have osteoperosis everyone's bones are the same. Victim of circumstance.

well if they were broken bones and if he had no history before that, then it's more of a freak thing....I'd be more accepting of that than if he had a history of muscle, ligament injuries.

I wouldn't mind the signing, sometimes you have to take risk. Just don't pay too much for him and keep your options open.

If its a one year minimum type deal and we arent counting on him to start, I'm all for it. I would still pursue McCourty and re-sign Adams even if Branch is here.

he would be a bad signing IMO. He reminds me a lot of Bob sanders, very hard hitting safety and ball hawk but his body just won't keep up with his play style.

Thing is, he isn't like Bob Sanders. All of Branch's injuries seem to be bone injuries, which don't have the long term effects of soft tissue injuries.

An incentive based contract would be perfect for a guy like Branch.

Bob was making big money as a Colt. If we signed this guy for cheap, what will it hurt?
