I'm going to wait to get to stoked about this until I see who Grigsons replacement is
-
Probably means Irsay has somebody lined up in my opinion. I don't think Irsay would have fired him otherwise. This move still makes not much sense to me 1 year into a new deal but it does factoring in the previous 4 years

Wish him the best going forward

He wont be handed a HC position just because he is Peyton Manning -

I'd like Manning for a QB coach and probably as Offensive Coordinator. GM? I'd have to say no simply because he has no experience as a coach of any sort let alone being responsible for roster decisions and scouting other positions -
Is 2017 a make or break season for Pagano and Grigs

Colts Should Convert Either Green or Geathers into an ILB

Anyone else a bit upset watching the playoffs
Gavin replied to indyagent17's topic in Colts Football
Sucks the Colts did not earn the right to get in the playoffs but no I'm still going to enjoy the last bit of football we have for quite some time regardless if its the Colts or not. We still have quite a long winter ahead...That's what I'm sad about -
Colts Should Convert Either Green or Geathers into an ILB
Gavin replied to Defjamz26's topic in Colts Football
Ya know this is totally off topic and random but I was think that there is enough of us I was kind of wishing the Colts forum was able to offer voice chat option for those that wanted to use to hear the person they are talking to. That would be cool -

Gavin replied to Defjamz26's topic in Colts Football
I'd rather find an ILB that has the spatial awareness, coordination, speed and play recognition ability to know how to cover so we can be able to employ Geathers in many other ways to make our defense more versatile -
Per Alex Marvez Pagano will be back as HC in 2017 (merge)
Gavin replied to HungarianColtsFan's topic in Colts Football
I've said for a while now neither will be fired 1 year into being re-signed and Irsay make his continuity speech. These guys are here for the remainder of there contracts -

No I don't think he cares that much about the contracts. I genuinely think that he believes Grigson and Pagano are the men for the jobs long term or that he will give them 4 years to prove to him they are not. Of course I hope for the best whatever Irsay decides. I want to get back on the winning track asap. I know Irsay does as well. I just don't think he is ready to give up on Grigson and Pagano soon -
Glad to get this win. Need more nights from Turner like tonight and PG. The Pacers go as far as them 3 will take them. We are just not a defense first team. We will have to straighten that out in the offseason because I don't see that happening during the season. We will also need to find another SG and another facilitator at back up PG because we get lost with our 2nd unit because of it

Gavin replied to Indeee's topic in Colts Football
True but he sure wasn't silent last year when he chose to keep them both and went on this spiel about continuity. I don't see him backtracking after just 1 year or even 2...Maybe 3 but I doubt it -

Gavin replied to Indeee's topic in Colts Football
My fellow Colts fans I say this with the utmost respect and sincerity but its time to except that Irsay made his decision last year and that decision is Grigson and Pagano will be here through the remainder of there contracts and not a day shorter -
Chuck Pagano will be made available to the media at 1:30 today.

Should(n't) we target Jamie Collins in FA?
Gavin replied to Rally5's topic in NFL Draft, Scouting, and Free Agent Talk
My guess is based on what I read he is offered in the neighborhood of 10 mill per year and a 4-5 year deal......I am just guessing on the years. He is LB that can do everything well but spends most of his time in coverage or playing the run both of which he does at a high level and he has shown the ability to pass rush to but is not used in that capacity enough to do as much damage as I believe he can. -

Gavin replied to Rally5's topic in NFL Draft, Scouting, and Free Agent Talk
Agreed. But again Collins is not the first player to freelance in the NFL and not under Bills watch. Playmakers do that sometimes. Personally I'd put up with that but I'm not Bill and just because I'm not Bill doesn't mean I'm wrong. Its a preference thing. Some coaches are much more willing to put up with that from a great player. Collins did guess wrong a couple times as has been noted and maybe it got on his nerves. However I don't think it was the leading factor In the trade given the other reports and from his own lips that he wants big time money Its my belief this is just Bi -

Gavin replied to Rally5's topic in NFL Draft, Scouting, and Free Agent Talk
Most playmakers have a little freelancing in them from time to time. Also as it has been noted he was set to become a FA with a player right behind him playing almost as well in fewer snaps. By the way he will get many teams seal of approval if by chance he is allowed to become a FA. The move did not have as much to do with his freelancing as had been lead to believe -

Gavin replied to Rally5's topic in NFL Draft, Scouting, and Free Agent Talk
He doesn't take plays off. He thinks he sees something once in a while and instead of sticking with the structure of the defensive call he freelances and goes to make a play. He is often right in doing so actually and once in a while wrong. JJ Watt does the same thing. Playmakers want to make plays rather than stick to the script and hope a play falls in your lap -
That would be a question for Jim Irsay. He is the one that took that guy on for another 4 years
-
I also dont get why moves would be made now at GM or HC 1 year into a both guys signing onto new 4 year deals. What could Irsay possibly learn 1 year later about these guys that he should not know after 4 years job related? Makes no sense to me. You go 8-8 last year and don't kick em to the curb but potentially kickem to the curb if we go 8-8 this year? I tell you what you do know however and that is the roster really is not changed a whole lot from last year in regards to starters UNLESS one of them got hurt to this year on the defensive side of the ball outside of: -Getting rid o

Of course we should...But we wont. He is an athletic cover linebacker. We don't like them around here
