I know in previous years we have done only draft picks, due to the difference in the valuing of players betweens fans (Nelson is worth 3 1sts!) and NFL GM's (Nelson plus his massive contract is worth a 2024 2nd).
However last year I seem to recall we allowed trading of players aswell?

Personally I think I prefer the draft pick only approach. Shall we vote? Or just let the commissioner decide?

Ahhh maybe that was it - no trades for future picks. 
I seem to remember there being something different last year. But it could have been the year before. Or it could be my brain playing tricks on me

Personally, I'd like to see trades only for picks in this year's draft and not involving players. That keeps it fair for everyone probably, and forces us to value every pick while trading. 

 

We can always trade down and gain more picks in this same year provided finding trade partners, and then move up if we feel a can't-miss prospect is available in later rounds. 

 

Generally, enough trades happen here that the Commissioner gets too busy updating the future rounds with flooded requests 

especially in first 3 rounds.

If we trade away future draft picks now, we'd not like it if we're forced to pick that team next year (2024) without these draft picks

I think trades only involving other picks this year is easier to manage. JMO  (I once traded Adrian Peterson to Dallas for a second round draft pick. It caused confusion.   I got Hunter Henry in that trade. Adrian was on the down side of his career.)

 

Anyway, there may be some other fans who may be interested in playing who have never played before.

I agree. It also takes the guessing game out of it to evaluate if it is a fair trade. Just doing picks in current draft.

@stitches has the Lions. He was one of the first to select a team. The Lions have two draft picks in the first round.

I think Denver Broncos, and Minnesota Vikings have the fewest picks in the 2023 NFL Draft with five selections.
