Recommended Posts

Why would Luck "announce" this in the middle of a game? I know he aint playing just sounds like something hed publicly announce first

I don't know how to process this.

I mean... wow.

I don’t either.  It’s sad.  It’s just a game but still sad to see.  The Colts thought they were getting another Johnny U or Peyton Manning but Ryan Grigson’s incompetence turned him into another Burt Jones.

I don’t know what to say. After all the love and support the fans have shown him he blindsides us!? Not only us but his teammates, the coaching staff, and the organization. Totally unprofessional and I hope his memory is completely removed from Indy.

He wants to be able to walk when he is my age (61).

Nothing wrong with that.

Just like everyone, can’t believe it. We’re going to see how much better Reich is than Pagano as a coach, would be great to get a .500 record out of Brissett.

It is what it is!!!

I’m crying. My favorite player just retired from the NFL 10 years sooner than I expected him too.

After battling injury after injury, the word is that #Colts QB Andrew Luck was simply too worn down to continue. And so he abruptly retires at age 29. Jacoby Brissett is the new QB of the Colts.

I can’t really hold back the depression on this one. Another year absolutely wasted. What the hell do you tell your players in the locker room? 2-14 here we come!

Colts future prospects nose diving.  Brissett is just middling at best.   Probably will finish .500 which puts them out of reach of any respectable QB which means more mediocrity.  Lucas Oil about to get empty.

Also, could’ve drafted a QB in last year’s loaded class.  Darnold could be a Colt now.  Luck absolutely screwed the Colts retiring a year later

Don't want to hear anything he has to say.  Rarely has a player has a more invested fan base.  Just GTHO.

    • There will never be another Peyton so we do agree on the 1% chance of landing something like that. I said 10% on landing someone Luck, perhaps that may have been a bit low but I would say a 20% chance is pushing it. We would have to get really lucky a 3rd time and hope whoever we draft ends up like Wilson or Mahomes. That is doubtful though.    Regarding Tom Brady I will say this, he has made the most out of his situation and accomplished 6 SB wins. I agree with your concept overall though, if a rookie QB goes to a good situation (like Wilson did) they have a better chance of succeeding. I love our GM, like our Coach, love our O.line but not happy with our WR core or our defense. Our defense has played great at times than has looked bad like this past Sunday.
    • Lol shows you how much I e been paying attention to the Colts season. Didn't know Enron did that. I knew there was a reason I didn't like him
    • Fair or not, hypocritical or not, QBs are always treated differently.   If Chad Kelly does play this year, 3 things can happen.   1. Chad Kelly plays so amazingly well that there is NO question that he is the starting QB the following year. (How likely is this to happen? 10% chance? 20%?)   2. Chad Kelly plays fairly well. The Colts have a QB controversy. JB and Chad Kelly fight for the #1 QB position during the preseason, but in all likelihood, neither would be the answer at the QB position if Chad Kelley isn't clearly better than JB.   3. Chad Kelly plays poorly, showing why he was #3 on the depth chart. The coaches must now revert back to JB, after they have shown that they are willing to replace him. The other players now know that they don't have a true #1 leader at the QB position and question the coaches decision.   Unless the coaches completely believe in Chad Kelly, it's my opinion, that he will not play.
    • I hardly call it a mid-game retirement when it was preseason and he hadnt even played. i guess you could say mid-season even technically. logic would call it simply retiring prior to the season starting.  Its all semantics, no reason to argue or discuss.   He’s gone.
    • Or JK Dobbins... Bigger version of Hines and can handle 20+ carries a game
