This is not the end of the world losing to the Jags!

Jags have a very good defense and the Colts missing two TEs limited Luck today.

If any thing, I think the play calling was quite bad overall today.

The Colts need to find help at WR and another RB in the off-season.

My exact feelings I wrote in another thread just now.

No RB that can grind out a drive or two or another WR who can make a play or two kills us if TY isn't cutting it or the oline is having an off day.

Play calling today was to cute at times.

That is excuses it don't matter who is out there next man up and Coach has to call better games that was pathetic and embarrassing sure jags have a pretty good defense that luck shredded less than a month ago and get this we haven't scored a point on them since the second quarter of that game 6 quarters no point's awful.

Guys don't over analyze everything this year based on losing to the

Jags, at home to them.

So we shouldn't continue to play like today the rest of the season so we get a better draft pick?

Okay. I didn't think so either. However I am sure there are some "Colt's fans" who will think we should.  :hissy:

That is hindsight; the Colts would have won if Hines breaks the goal line and makes a touchdown.

It is hindsight, but one could argue that Frank is being over aggressive and the rational and perhaps correct thing to do in the NFL and in a tight game is to take the points..

May as well take your lumps and chances in year one is what I'm thinking he's doing.

If he were to do this in future years and cost us wins when we're playoff ready, I'll co-sign the 'fire Reich' thread.

yea im prepared to let it go for the first year head coach, he should be learning from this though. In year 2 if we are pushing for the playoffs it's my humble opinion that those kinds of calls are unacceptable at this level of sport.

Agreed 100..

I feel he's trying to let his guys know I've got your back and I believe in you.

But he won't get a pass from me/fans or Jim I'm sure if he makes this a usual occurrence.

Year one I'm ok with getting mistakes out and trying to win at all costs. I don't think he'll be a gambling man in general as his M.O.

We were and still are in playoff hunt this year. 2 additional losses that may have been avoided is Huge to our post season hopes.

I look at the rest of the schedule and I think we should win every game but Dallas and Houston.

In order to make the playoffs, we need to win both of those games and hope that Ravens and Broncos lose a couple down the stretch.

I'm just gonna say this...

none of us here are Head Coaches for an NFL team. Let alone a Rookie Head Coach. He's gonna make mistakes. While I disliked the play calling today, I don't think 1 badly called game out of 12 is an indicator of anything but a rookie getting over confident in himself.

But we aren't ready for a legit run nor are we really a playoff team. We'd be one of those teams just happy to be there.

Gamble and get your feet wet year one without fear of getting fired is my main point.

We could win the SB and people on here will find something to complain about.

I'd love to put that theory to the test. We may not even sniff the SB with Luck as QB if we have random, sporadic games like this where we can't score a point. We can't withstand any sort of injury and the whole team comes tumbling down. Winning the SB would create an all night party of excitement on here. Right now, we aren't even playoff worthy and Luck is going to be 30 at the start of next season. Half the ride is over, we are still rebuilding in the 2nd half of Luck's career, and there's a lot of holes to fill. We want hope, not consistent inconsistencies. If we win the SB, this forum will be backed up with positivity. Otherwise, I'd say the majority of us have been pretty patient up to this point.

This same jags team beat the Patriots so I honestly dont feel that bad we lost sure it sucks but oh well

I can't even say oh well right now. I thought I'd get over it with some sleep, but it's 10X worse to me now than it was when the game ended. I look at final scores of all the games, and our goose egg stands out like a sore thumb. Can't go on football websites as there's nothing positive from our game (unless you're a huge Autry fan). Any other team site has something positive to say about their team today (makes me feel worse about today). It's going to last an entire week as well. It's like losing at the casino in a big way and having to wait for your next paycheck, or a couple weeks until your bankroll is even throughout the month based on how much you lost.

This is going to be a horrible sports week for me. I don't know how to get over this. Blown out, playoffs probably gone, and I have to wait a week with a blowout on my mind to see if we can get extremely lucky and win out with a bunch of other scenarios happening. I'm mentally checked out. I feel like garbage and it's not even my fault. How do you get over this?

Well I never had too high of expectations for this team this year the wins were just a plus I expected to be pretty average this year and if we dont win another game the draft pick will be decent so either way I dont mind

I just want the Colts to be put out of their misery now. It's falling apart this year. I hope we lose out now and Ballard can fix the remaining holes on this team through FA and the draft. Our injuries aren't even that bad and we get destroyed. Literally Doyle and Kelly and the team falls apart on offense. I don't know, I guess I should take a break. When you're at the point where losing $300 at the casino is a better thing than seeing a blowout of the Colts, then I guess I'm taking it too seriously. I lack control of the team, so there's nothing I can do about it, so it upsets me seeing Reich and Luck make amateur mistakes.

Jared, I know what you're saying but we need at least 1 more win. We took the over on the season future's at 6.5 wins for the Colts. I started getting edgy during the Miami game and now I feel that the bet is in serious jeopardy. Ugh. :)

You right; and especially after the Texas Tornado coming through with Texans and Dallas. And probably lose to either Giants or Titans to be 7 and 9.

The talk of playoffs started in this forum about 3 weeks TOO early to begin with and only started because we had one 5 in a row.

This is a learning, evaluating and TONE setting year for the locker room and expecting anything more then that is being unfair really.

Until yesterday I had really never heard a player saying " I LIKE LOSING GAMES LIKE THIS" in which Ebron said ( post game locker room interview) . He then goes on to state why he likes it and I can see his view.  He also stood behind Franks play calls and says they have to execute better which I also agree with.

Lets start another winning streak beginning with Houston.

I think we win one of the Texas games.

This loss to the Jags and the Ravens win puts the playoffs almost out of reach.

I still think 10-6 gets us in. Winning the next 4 is a long shot, but until loss #7 the 2nd wildcard is possible. Yesterday's loss really takes the zip out of the last 4 games, unless the Colts can pull off an upset at Houston, which is certainly possible.

Steelers still have Patriots and Saints. Could easily end up 9-6-1.

Ravens still have "at Chargers" and "at Chiefs." If they go 3-1 and beat one of these teams, they deserve to make the playoffs. If not, they end up 9-7.

If Broncos win out to go 10-6 and get in, kudos to them.

Hey - I want you to try and look at this a different way:  How does any of this improve your life, or on the other side how does any of this detract from your life?  Football is fun but in the end for most of us fans it is just a form of entertainment.  It really isn't about what is important in your life.  If football was gone today what would you focus your time and effort on?

What else do you have going on this week that you can put 100% effort in that is going to actually improve your life?  Focus on that.

For the most part our defense was decent.

As for Luck and the rest of the offense. Absolutely horrid. Reichs play calling sure heck didn't help but the offense got their arses whooped from the line out.

Even Nelson got his butt whooped
