Trace Pyott
I was looking at his stats and as poor as many think he played the first two games if the season ended today he would probably be top 3 MVP candidate. His tds I believe lead the league. He has a qb rating over 100 and I believe is in the top 5 in passing yards. Not too shabby for a 3rd yr qb. Imagine if he can even improve his deficiencies even 50% how good he could be!

SOMDColtsfan
Nobody's been harder on Andrew Luck than...Andrew Luck. He`s a humble guy and with his determination to get better he only will. Agree, he`s so close to being one of the best QB`s if not the best in the league.
ColtsHoosiersBB
Luck plays better focused and angry. And it doesn't hurt that they opened upthe passing playbook and allowed him to get into a rhythm.
Bobbycovert
The degree of criticism around here has been a bit much. Turns out it only takes back to back losses for half of the forum to lose their minds. Threads about regression, firing coaches, and threads devoted to "calling out" the under-performing Colts... its been pretty lame around here. bluephantom87
Luck has the POTENTIAL to be one of the "greats" like MANY have said. The problem has been Pep's sporadic playcalling UTILIZING Luck's talent and many weapons. I don't know if it was all the backlash or simply because we played the Jags but the Colts were very aggressive on both sides of the ball!! Seem like they TRIED to score on every possession. I like the fact that they were leaning more on Bradshaw in the running game. (which is a good thing) Watching Trent in pre-season to now he seems to run better from the spread on that delayed draw play instead of the I formation which is hit or miss for him. All said, nice gameplan from the coaches (I'm one of their critics) and hopefully they will keep their foot to the pedal. Go Colts!!
backshoulderfade
He is leading the league in TDs, 3rd in Yards, 6 in passer ratin with nearly 1.5x the yards of the leader Wilson. Coltboi
Greetings fellow Colts fans May get burned for this, however, I am not sold on Luck. Compared to other young QBs, Luck seems somewhat average. For instance, RG3 had no Wayne -esque player and is dubbed a running QB, but yet, his comp % and Ratt is superior to Luck (Granted Luck is better this year). Cam has very few weapons, but yet, appears to be a more polished QB at this point. Wilson has a crap-ton of weapons, however, Wilson is not nearly as mistake prone as Luck. The comback victories; yes, coming back implies that you were not doing something right to begin with, hence have to play from behind (why I called him mistake-prone). As a Colts fan, Luck gets too much of a pass; his mistakes and accuracy issues are overlooked because he is the succeessor to Manning, hence us fans are quick to grab onto any array of hope. Yes, I understand that we were a lottery team prior to getting Luck, but I truly believe the orgainzation tanked it; we clearly had a plan. Listen, I am not saying the kid is a bust or anything, I really like him as a person, we made the playoffs two consectuive years, but I do not see anything special or great about him other than his ability to run.I mean, if you sit back and examine his career thus far, he is well behind other young QBs http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/13994/cam-newton (Historic rookie season,Won a tough division last year; consistent passer, best young gun imo when you consider his lack of weapons; no Wayne, Maclin, De-sean, V. In reality, Luck is a slightly above average QB. Luck is on a golden pedestal, immune to any criticism; if any young QB (Or QB in general) whom was not hyped up/replacing Manning had his comp % and RAT, it would have been laughable to deem them the next great thing. Dolton takes a crap-ton of flak, but look at his stats compared to other young QBs. That's a very common statement from non colt fans who are jealous we got Luck. Also, saying that Luck gets a pass because of Manning is the dumbest thing i have ever heard. If anything, Luck is scrutinized even more because of the guy he followed. Probably should have posted in some other threads, got your post count up a bit, before going on and on about how our QB just isn't that good. It would have made you look less trollish that way. Luck's biggest attribute imo is his athleticism, we should allow Luck to use it more often and stop trying to make him Peyton Manning. I know it seems harsh, however, I am extremely frank; I like Luck, but have to call it like it is.You do realize that Wilson and Newton both, have had better defenses, better O-lines, better running games and better teams, than Luck has had. The 2012 team that Luck took over, after all the players cuts, for salary cap reasons and all the cuts to tear the team down to start over, was actually less talented than the 2-14, 2011 team, which was the worst team in the NFL, yet he took that 2012 team to the playoffs. I have no doubt that had Wilson or Newton taken over that 2012 team, they would not have made the playoffs. Wilson took over by far, the most talented roster in the NFL, and it has worked out well, but he has not been asked to carry his team on his back the way Luck has. Wilson in his first season and most of last season, was asked to manage the team and not do anything to lose the game. He has continued to get better, and do more for his team and is very talented, but his cush situation has really accelerated his growth, it is a lot easier to QB the loaded Seahawks than it is, to carry the Colts on your back, he has not been under extreme pressure to produce in order to win the way Luck has. Could you imagine what Luck could do, with a team like the Seahawks. (Two completely different situations) I think there are a lot of QB's that would look a lot better Quarterbacking the Seahawks than their present teams. Had Wilson taken over the Colts and been asked to carry the team on his back the way Luck has, we would all have a much different opinion of Wilson, and he would still be looking for his first playoff appearance. The two situations are on the opposite end of the spectrum. Couldn't be more different. Last year Luck had no defense, no running game, no O-line and no Wide receivers and still took his team to the playoffs. Wilson had the most talented roster in the NFL and does again this year. No #1 defense, no #1 rushing attack, great O-line and a very underrated, very physical WR group. Can not state enough what a luxury it is to a QB, to have a great defense. Much less all the other things Wilson has in his favor. Newton couldn't win anything his first two seasons, even though he had a great rushing attack and great O-line, then last season Carolina put together a great defense, and all of a sudden he looks like the next great QB. I will say it again, nothing helps out a QB like a great defense. Newton looked like a completely different player. Newton still struggles to read a defense and running the ball is still his best asset. He is still behind Luck and Wilson both, at throwing from the pocket, but looks much better now that the Panthers have a great defense. I hope the Colts are able to build a great defense at some point, and if the do, Luck will be off the charts, but for right now, he is asked to do a lot more, with a whole lot less, yet he continues to do a lot more and takes his team to the playoffs. Football is the ultimate team sport, and if Lucks teams are ever up to par with the talents of Wilson and Newton's teams, I don't think there will be a question about who is the better of the three, it will be as obvious as it is to me now. Luck is on a golden pedestal, immune to any criticism; if any young QB (Or QB in general) whom was not hyped up/replacing Manning had his comp % and RAT, it would have been laughable to deem them the next great thing. Dolton takes a crap-ton of flak, but look at his stats compared to other young QBs.Luck's biggest attribute imo is his athleticism, we should allow Luck to use it more often and stop trying to make him Peyton Manning.I know it seems harsh, however, I am extremely frank; I like Luck, but have to call it like it is.Quite frankly I dont give a damn
NewEra
If only we had taken Cousins. There is a point where stats are junk, and it's in the W and L column.Good grief I hope that was a joke.
Coltsman1788
Luck is good. Not the best in the league or anything but capable of holding his own against the best on any given Sunday. Still has a ways to go before he can be considered elite though. He is still only in his third year so there is no need to anoint him before his time. NewEra
This thread went to a whole new level of stupid. Sure he has made some bad throws, sure our wr's, TE's and rb's drop passes. As good as he already is right now there not only is room for improvement but no doubt he will improve with his work ethic and smarts. I don't give two craps about some stupid stats. I trust my eyes and see that he is a young and ever improving qb.

The Fish
Good grief I hope that was a joke.Of course it is! I didn't think I needed to wave a Andrew Luck banner everyday, to not be mistaken on such a bit of sarcasm. I wasn't joking about the wins and losses though. Stats come second to that. Dark Superman
Andrew Luck came to a team that was completely demolished and renewed. You put these other QB's on half decent teams, some of them being already Super Bowl contenders. You bash Luck because he went to a team that was starting their rebuilding process and the guy still has two back to back winning seasons. Andrew Luck is the real deal. It's hard to keep up with everyone's posting habits cause they are night and day around here. I seriously read, in this thread, Luck was a bust. Lol, wow. I'm thinking the kids from the hills have eyes finally got the Internet. As far as the wind losses you have to factor in much more. Coaching, defense, special teams, ect...imagine Luck playing for Seattle.
GwinnettColt
Nobody's been harder on Andrew Luck than...Andrew Luck. He`s a humble guy and with his determination to get better he only will. Agree, he`s so close to being one of the best QB`s if not the best in the league. I love his attitude. I would hate having a guy like Johnny Manziel here. superrep1967
Luck plays better focused and angry. And it doesn't hurt that they opened upthe passing playbook and allowed him to get into a rhythm. It didn't hurt either that he had all day to throw to. TKnight24
Put the ball in his hands & the offense at his disposal and he'll be even better31-39 I believe it was for 4TD's8 missed passes (some were dropped like Fleener's)That's Madden like numbers, let the man run the offenseSo thankful I got NFL Sunday ticket now. Watching Andrew throwing 35+ times he just seems/looks much more confident than being the game manager he was last week vs Philly or trying to keep the comeback kid title like in week 1 vs Denver
superrep1967
Quite frankly I dont give a damnThis guy thinks to much and has way to much time on his hands. I wish I had time to grossly write posts like that! it makes no sense to me. Will see who wins a super bowl first besides wilson. Then post stupid that will really make no sense. The root of the post was making fun of the use frankly. Is that better? Or would you like me to go into depth of why Andrew is the best young QB right now? I figured why make a long and eccentric post about the same thing as most people on here are but please would you like me to?
masterlock
Go Colts!! :clap:Sometimes it takes playing a bad team to get your mojo back. They key now is to sustain it, or even better, play well against a quality opponent when the time comes.
peytonmanning18
Well playing a game against Jacksonville will give the stat line a boost.
