as a veteran, this dude has a nature ability to lead.  I've seen great leaders and crappy leaders.  That said, watching this, I feel Ballard is the GUY!

I did like that part and appreciated that he said he wished the best for McDaniels, even if he did not mean it!!! 

 

No reason to slam him, we have better things to work on, and Ballard clearly understands that. He is definitely the right man for the moment and job. The fact that he said "it is on me" speaks volumes for a man willing to admit he screwed the pooch. He is not hiding behind a keyboard slamming people, that is for sure.

That was a great presser, he said mostly the right things and handled himself well. Tons of confidence too.

Ballard handled it well.  But the last part about saying "no" when he was asked if he felt betrayed was a complete lie, IMO.  A bit too smooth considering the circumstances.
