Luck to be placed on IR per Tony Donahue

According to JMV, Luck has had at least 2 setbacks - one that led to the Brissett signing and this latest one a few weeks ago.

not surprised.  Question is though, if they don't know a cause, is it a mental thing?  As one who's had surgery on stuff like that, the mental aspect of feeling every little tweak/touch/hit/ movement and getting used to it takes a LOT of time.  It took me close to 3 years to fully get passed the fear of worrying about retearing my ACL.  and im not a pro QB getting hit.

He implied that the issues were physical but it could be a mental thing too.

Just keep him on the regular roster to continue ruffling the feathers of these reporters. lol. Pretty obvious his set back will keep him off the field this year.

Not really surprising at this point. I don't know how the rumors play into this, but my gut instinct is that something is up. Be it him busting up up his shoulder some more on a snowboard or whatever. This isn't "he'll be good to go in a few weeks" any more. 

I hope it's not career threatening. Brace for that talk.

I saw. I'm simply saying that if they cant find a true physical cause despite multiple opinions, its quite possible its a mental thing.

JMV's quote is a bit concerning. So is the "visited specialists but can't find out what's wrong" rumor.

I wouldn't blame anybody for how they react to all this news and these rumors. There's no overreacting to this stuff at this point. I get the "he'll be fine by next season" thinking but I'm not particularly there yet, or at least I'm trying to be cautious with my expectations.

Luck looks like a shell of his former self in every photo I've seen.  I'm not surprised by this one bit.  I would be shocked were he to play this season.

Pretty simple - at some point he'll just have to play with pain, as he did when it was torn for a year plus.  It may never be pain free.

Makes me wonder if him practicing  the other week and them releasing the video of him throwing was all just some PR stunt to try and quiet the rumblings. Was there really a “setback “? Or has he just not progressed at all.

You know what? JMV gets a lot of credit, but he's said a lot of things that haven't turned out to be true, going back to January. Just last week, he was convinced Pagano wouldn't make it through the week. He also tends to blur the line between speculating and reporting.

I think it's probably like this - Luck went through the surgery, rehab, etc., and was expecting it to be pain-free, when it may never be.  He's at the point where he's wondering, why did I go through all of this?
