  1. I like Corley. He’s a guy that could fall to the third. He’d be a GREAT pick up in the 3rd round.
  2. arnold at 15, worthy in the 2nd. I’d be a happy colts fan
  3. Agreed, I think right now we need to do whatever is best for ARs development. This is a qb league. Yes, we also need a great defense, but we also can’t fail another qb again. however, I wouldn’t be upset if we went corner at 15. We could be able to get someone in the second. Maybe not as good as BTJ, but good enough. And I trust our team more with developing a WR than a corner. Corner is just a tough position period
  4. if one of those offensive options are available at 15 and trading back would guarantee us not getting them, I’d be happy with getting kool aid in the second without a doubt just my personal opinion, I’d rather get a certified offensive weapon who can come in provide an impact instantly rather than grabbing one in the second and having to develop him. Corners usually don’t come right in and shut it down. Whatever corner we draft, rather in the first or second, it’s going to take some time. Corner is one of the hardest positions to play. And with the moves our division rivals made, we can’t fall behind with a struggling offense.
  5. you bring up 2 great points. Didn’t know that about sauce. Didn’t know that about Arnold either! You might’ve changed up personal board. Yeah, switch Quinyon with Arnold because honestly, that’s all I had against Quinyon.
  6. Well with free agency underway and Majority of the moves being made, I figure I update my personal big board of picks at 15. 1. Dallas Turner/Latu: figure I put these two together because one or the other may be available. I’ve said it in another post, we ranked 30th hurries and 3 of our DL ranked in the top 20 of pass and rush win rate (Samson ranked in both). Kwitty was the only one to not rank in either and rushing with the front 4 is very important in this scheme. We need to pressure the qb more. I know the scheme plays a part but we need personnel for the scheme to work correctly. Either turner or latu would replace kwitty and gives us a nice balanced rush with our front 4. 2. Brock Bowers: in todays nfl, your qb is the end all be all and if he isn’t Mahomes, you need to surround him with great weapons. Brock is that. He can lineup anywhere and produce. He’d fit right in Shane system and the things that he’d scheme up for Brock I can only dream about. 3. BTJ: same reason as Brock, we need to get AR weapons. I’m sorry, I’m not an Alec Pierce believer. Can AP thrive with AR, yes. But go’s and deep posts are only going to get you so far with a 4.4 speed. We need a dynamic burner who can do damage at ALL levels. BTJ is that. BTJ is what JJ was to Chase at LSU. Not saying BTJ can be JJ, but he’s right behind that top 3 group wrs this draft (MHJ, Odunze, Nabers). He fits the Ballard mold and would provide an instant impact opposite of MPJ. 4. Arnold: best CB in the draft. Not the fastest, but his tape shows he can be a CB1 and played in the SEC against tough comp. He can play opposite of Brents and fill an immediate need after not grabbing a CB in FA. 5. Quinyon Mitchell: probably would be CB1 in this draft but he played at Toledo. Tape also is very good. 4.3 speed, and had a great senior bowl. My only knock is he played at Toledo (personal opinion). Other than that, if the above 4 are gone, I don’t mind going with him. note: I know safety is missing. That’s because this draft is considered to be a weak safety class. Think we should go vet with diggs and resigning blackmon
  7. I have 2. Boy and girl. Boy is 6 months, girl is 6 years. Girl a rescue, boy adopted straight from the litter. Total opposites. The girl is so shy and reserved (except with me) and the boy is chaotic and adventurous. Love them both. I like dogs but I also don’t like rodents (phobia) and I’d rather let nature sort itself out than to use inhumane stuff like glue traps lol.
  8. yup, that’s why I was hoping for McKinney. As a veteran all pro safety blanket. We have vets with our linebackers so all the corners have to do is stick to their man. And if they catch something underneath, then heck that’s we do anyways lol. But at least with a ball hawk safety the threat of being beat over the top due to the blitz would not be as much of a concern. Now, with Thomas/harrison and cross, I’d rather us play nothing but zone lol
  9. Not even sure who I’d cut, let them battle it out in camp. Regarding secondary, I’m expecting Ballard to do his usual and grab some cheap vets who can still provide something or even excel (ex. Xavier Rhodes when we signed him). And then as I said above, use our second to grab someone like Kool Aid. im not in the boat of everything is doomed. I was indifferent on getting sneed anyway, leaning more to not wanting him. I am bummed we didn’t get or try to go after a no brainer like McKinney, but it is what it is. There are still some options out there and I hope Ballard does what he needs to get them.
  10. Not gonna lie, I would take turner or latu if they’re there. And then find a way to get another 2nd round pick and draft a CB and WR. We ranked 30th in hurries, and only 2 lineman ranked in the top 20 of pass rush win rate, only 2 ranked in the top 20 of run win rate. Grover, Buck, and Samson were in those categories (with Samson ranking in the top 20 of both pass and run). Kwitty is the only player who didn’t rank in either one. If latu or turner are there, I’d say draft them. And we’d still have the opportunity to grab a good corner and wide receiver in the second. I know, Ballard drafting ANOTHER defensive end. But this is different. Latu and Turner are both miles ahead of any DEs we’ve drafted. Even kwitty who’s our highest pick DE had questions. Screw it, if the draft plays out where one of those two are available, get them.
  11. Idk, if it’s corner…I’m torn between Quinyon and Arnold. Quinyon tested very well, played well, and runs a 4.3. But he also played Toledo. Idk, something about those smaller school players, I’m always susceptible of them. Just my personal opinion. Arnold also tested, did run a 4.5 though. But played much tougher competition. im pretty sure one of those two will be available. Me personally, I’d want to go wide receiver and get BTJ if he’s there at 15.
  12. yeah I’m convinced we didn’t even try. Because that’s honestly doable. Idk, maybe his injury history worried Ballard. Idk what we’re doing at this point. Our offense better pretty darn good because our defense is going to be very young and pretty much the same if not worse.
  13. I honestly think this will be his last year if this team struggles because of the lack of talent. If Shane coaches his tail off once again and ar plays majority of the season and shows he’s not fluke…and do not look good, I definitely think irsay will show him the door.
  14. Fitting. We’re essentially running it back with the same team but younger after the draft. After Ballard blamed himself for the defense being so young. i predict we’ll pick up some cheap vets that we’ll hope can come in and play well. Instead of using FA to sure up holes and put ourselves in position to go BPA, we’ve pigeon holed ourselves into either going DB or safety (in a class that’s said to be a BAD safety class) idk what Ballard has up his sleeve, but can’t say I feel confident about our chances of even winning the south. We’ll see.
  15. no you’re right, Gus scheme is a cover 3. Just my personal opinion, we play it like it’s a cover 2. We have the safety in the box like a cover 3 but idk, I feel like we run a cover 3 but run it like a cover 2. sorry about the earlier post causing confusion. Meant mention Gus scheme is a cover 3. I’m doing a lot right now lol
  16. in a cover 2 or any variation of it, the safeties are probably the second most important position group. With the MLB and DEs probably being the most important. If you can’t defend deep in the cover 2, then it pretty much defeats the point of playing the cover 2
  17. Looking back, I wish we had went with what I hoped we did. Would’ve turned out much better: - Resign our major players (which we did outside of Blackmon) - sign McKinney. I know, Ballard said he doesn’t like to pay safties a lot, but I think McKinney would’ve been worth it. He’s an all-pro, 24, and top 5 at his position. The money we were thinking of giving sneed could’ve went to McKinney and it wouldn’t have taken any draft compensation. - sign a vet CB. Look at Kendall fuller. Went for $8mill/yr and can play both nickel and outside. Wouldn’t have costed what sneed was going to cost us and would’ve solidified our CB room. this would’ve set us to take the best offensive player with our first pick. Or maybe even grab Arnold if he was still there and just load our cb room up even more. But nope, we resigned our players, which I love, but what did we do to get better? We came close to the playoffs last year but teams in our division made moves to get better. We made moves to stay pat. If AR doesn’t come in and play like he’s a top 10 QB next year, we’re done. And I’ve been a supporter of Ballard, but if we fail yet again he needs to go. Get a GM in here who will do what’s needed to build a winner. The foundation is here, just needs to be built upon, not sustained. i know, it’s the second week of FA and it’s still players we can get but I can’t look at our team and say “we’re doing what we need to do to get better”.
  18. we were 30th in pressure rate also. I think scheme is 50% of the problem (need to blitz more) but we could also use a bonafide DE. Too late for that now though. he should be fired at that point. And I like ballard
  19. That would suck! KC seems like they’ve supported their team even before the Mahomes era. I’d hate to see that happen. Would remind me of the sonics leaving Seattle or chargers leaving San Diego.
  20. By not trading him when his value was at his highest (last year) and then allowing the teams who wanted him to fill their needs. They could not keep him, that was not going to work. That would’ve put the rookie in such a bad situation. Bears definitely took a fat L with this one.
  21. Naw, this is a good move. Fields is their qb of the future. Let him sit this year behind Russell and learn. Also have a good backup if russel gets hurt.
  22. I like it. Let fields sit behind russel and learn.
  23. yup, CB1: Sneed CB2: Brents Nickel: Moore CB4: Jones is a VERY solid CB room.
