2013 draft class completely gone now

Applies to Jaguars too, if Denard Robinson isn't re-signed. And Titans if Daimion Stafford isn't re-signed.

Don't think Oakland, Buffalo, Miami and Cleveland have anyone left either (depending if some depth/special teamers aren't re-signed).

I'd think that's a record, 4 years after the draft. We at least didn't have our 2nd as we traded it for Vontae who we still have.

Add Denver to that list.

EJ Manuel, Geno Smith, Mike Glennon, Matt Barkley, Ryan Nassib, Landry Jones.  Those were the first 6 quarterbacks taken in that draft.

Glennon is pretty good if he has time to throw with the bears he will do very good there and I think he is the best in that draft class the rest are terrible.

My theory is that eventually, every single player from the 2013 draft will no longer be in the NFL.

He's getting paid like a good player.

Getting paid doesn't always mean a player is good.  Some of the top paid players in the league last year included Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, and Sam Bradford, and none of them made the playoffs.  Poorly managed teams hand out big money to players who don't deserve it, which is part of the reason why they're poorly managed.  That's not to say any of the aforementioned players are bad, but rather just to illustrate my point that highly paid doesn't always mean good player

Everytime I watch the Vikings or Texans play...... I just get angry knowing we had DeAndre Hopkins & Xavier Rhodes literally right there, and Grigson blew it

So in one of the worst draft classes in modern NFL history, you wish we would've taken a WR in the first round?

Yes, leverage is the biggest factor in getting paid.

So you had rather not have Hopkins??? He's literally one of the best WR's in the NFL. Hopkins, Moncrief, and Hilton would be unstoppable. With that said I still think we're stupid as __ for passing on Rhodes.

And the Vikings and Texans have done what since that draft?

Lack of team success doesn't mean that those two aren't very good football players, among the best at their respective position.

Well....    while I get your point in broad terms....   when it comes to the three QB's you listed,  I don't think you have much of an argument....

Joe Flacco won a Super Bowl and no one in the NFL thinks Baltimore is a bad team.

Carson Palmer is a QB you can win 10 games a year with and Arizona is a well run franchise under their current front office.

And Sam Bradford is another guy who is highly thought of and his biggest problem has been injuries,  less so the quality of his play.      And Minnesota is another well run franchise.

The problem is there are 32 teams and there are not 32 quality NFL quarterbacks.   That gives the most talented guys the most leverage.     You're better off over-paying them then not having a good QB on your roster.

If you can point to players who are not quarterbacks,  then I think you'll have a stronger argument......

    • Wilson IMO is too much like Downs. Not sure we would want to pick another predominantly slot player.    IMO the players that make the most sense at WR are - AD Mitchell, Ladd(he again plays a bit of slot, but he's also a bit more versatile, he's played about 75% of his snaps in other alignments), Troy Franklin - he can be a Z for us... Jermaine Burton?!? if he's cleared character-wise?? I like Malik Washington but he's predominantly slot too so not sure he's a fit here.    BTW... this guy is projected as a day 3 pick... but because of the general lack of that type of player after Troy Franklin(fast Z) I can see him being pushed up... maybe get drafted mid-late R3 - he's like budget version of Xavier Worthy- Anthony Gould.    Maybe DeVontez Walker? Although he had such a bad Senior Bowl, I'd be surprised if Ballard goes for him.
    • While having 6 QBs go in the first 12 picks pushed some talent towards us... it probably also contributed to it being extremely hard for Ballard to trade up. It's just way too hard to make teams move away from QBs or to outbid teams who are bidding for their QB. I think 5 was probably our best chance for trade up... Arizona reportedly completely shut down any offers - they just wanted MHJ and they took him. 5 was probably our best chance, but it probably was way too steep of a price. Giants probably didn't want to move from Nabers, division rival Titans not great trade partner, Atlanta... wanted a freaking QB for some reason?!?!? Then Bears got their dream player drop to them and IMO that was probably the last chance we had.
    • I wouldn't mind if we traded up early if we picked one of these three players: 1. Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper 2. Iowa CB Cooper DeJean 3. Texas WR Adonai Mitchell
    • Round 2/3 Wishlist 1. Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper 2. Iowa CB Cooper DeJean 3. Texas WR Adonai Mitchell 4. Rutgers CB Max Melton 5. Michigan LB Junior Colson 6. Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley 7. Minnesota S Tyler Nubin 8. Iowa State CB T.J. Tampa 9.Oregon WR Troy Franklin
    • Finally CB drafted a Edge with production, not only high RAS. But then it's a guy with big injury concerns. Anyway....any player can get a serious injury on any given play. So, welcome to Indy! Give everything you have on the field and stay healthy!   Gotta find a DB and WR in round 2. Think DeJean is still on the board?! Round 2 is probably where his value is.
