Time for another installment of the Offseason Reading Series!

Previous ORS installments:

ORS1: The best Indianapolis Colts team ever

In today's installment, we will determine which Indianapolis Colt you are.  It's pretty simple.  Just click "reveal hidden contents" to whichever answer best fits you.  This was a HUGE pain to deal with in terms of formatting, but it looks like it works! Let me know who you guys are!

What side of the ball do you play on?

A) Offense.  Let’s light up that scoreboard!

Spoiler

Alright, offense it is.  Are we passing you the ball?

A) Yes

Spoiler

Why are we throwing you the ball?

A) My technique is impeccable.  I’ve broken it down to a science.  Use my film to teach future players what to do!

Spoiler

You got it.  Can we count on a locker room speech after the game?

A) Not at all.  Keep me out of the spotlight!

Spoiler

You are…

Marvin Harrison!

B) Absolutely.  I consider myself a vocal leader of the team.

Spoiler

You are…

Reggie Wayne!

B) My physical tools make me a matchup nightmare!

Spoiler

Sounds good.  The ball is coming your way.  Do you have your gloves on?

A) Gloves?  I don’t need gloves.

Spoiler

You are…

Dallas Clark!

B) Yep, I got ‘em.  Throw me the ball!

Spoiler

You are…

TY Hilton!

B) No

Spoiler

No problem.  Should we score points by throwing the ball, or running the ball?

A) Let me throw it.  Let’s overwhelm the defense with a supreme aerial attack!

Spoiler

If the pocket collapses, can you scramble out of the pocket and run for a first down?

A) Scrambling isn’t where I excel…

Spoiler

You are…

Peyton Manning!

B) Sure, that’s not a problem!  I can even truck a defender if I need to.

Spoiler

You are…

Andrew Luck!

B) Run the ball right down their throats!

Spoiler

Sounds like a plan.  Are you making the key block?

A) Yeah!  Follow my block and you’ll find the endzone.

Spoiler

You are…

Jeff Saturday!

B) The only time I block is in pass protection.  We’re running the ball here.  Hand me the ball and watch me juke these defenders!

Spoiler

You are…

Joseph Addai!

B) Defense.  We won’t let them gain a single first down!

Spoiler

Alright, let’s put the D in Indy!  Before the game, are you going to be firing up the team with a fiery pre-game speech?

A) Yes

Spoiler

You’re clearly a leader to the defense.  Do you want the responsibility of calling the plays too?

A) Absolutely.  Nothing is better than telling your unit what the call is and getting them all lined up properly.

Spoiler

What’s your college story?

A) I went to a very historic program with a long list of NFL talent.

Spoiler

You are…

Gary Brackett!

B) I went to a small school, but that underdog label just fueled me to get to the NFL!

Spoiler

You are…

Jerrell Freeman

B) No, thanks.  Just give me the call and let me do my job.

Spoiler

Is Indy the only home you’ll have as an NFL player?

A) Yes, I bleed blue!

Spoiler

You are…

Robert Mathis!

B) The NFL has a lot of great places to play.  I love Indy, but I want to take the best opportunity for me, even if that means relocating several times.

Spoiler

You are…

Cory Redding!

B) No, I’m not known to be a very vocal person.

Spoiler

Not a problem.  What’s your primary focus as a defender?

A) The NFL is a pass-first league.  I’m here to disrupt the opposing offense’s passing game.

Spoiler

How do you do that?

A) Rush the passer!  Pin your ears back and let’s hunt the quarterback!

Spoiler

You are…

Dwight Freeney!

B) Put the opponent’s best receiver on me and I’ll cover him like a blanket!

Spoiler

You are…

Vontae Davis!

B) I can stop the run and the pass.  I’m a complete defender!

Spoiler

Awesome!  What do you prefer to do, lay a mean hit on an opponent, or play center field and bait the QB into throwing picks?

A) I’m here to lay the wood!  I’ll get us some forced fumbles, dropped passes, and even intimidate the opposing team into submission!

Spoiler

You are…

Bob Sanders!

B) I’m a center fielder.  I like playing mind games with QBs, letting them think their receivers are open, only to steal the ball away at the last second!

Spoiler

You are…

Antoine Bethea!

Marvelous job with this post Superman, congrats. I couldn't stop digging into the options until I found the ultimate Colts defender, our almighty Bob Sanders :-))

haha Thanks!  It was fun to put it together.  It was a huge pain to format it, but I think it turned out well.  I'm glad you enjoy it!

I know this is for Colts fans. But I played. I am:

Andrew Luck

I'm glad people are really enjoying this.  I'm considering doing another one that's for NFL players instead of just Colts players.

Surprisingly, we still have a few players that haven't been picked yet

Rutgers guy, no?

I got Andrew Luck. I tried the game again but this time I chose defense. I got Vontae Davis.

Yes Brackett went to Rutgers. I just chose him because it fits my personality. I think that was point of the Thread, I may be wrong. Brackett was very low key, a nice guy, but when riled would stand his ground. The MLB position is very important and I thought he was a Great player but underrated because we had guys like Freeney, Mathis, and Bob. Brackett was the 4th best Defensive player on that 2006 team though and played outstanding against the Ravens in the 2006 game, matching Ray Lewis and he also had the fumble recovery for TD in the Rosencopter game haha. Also in the 2009 4th and 2 game, he caused a fumble vs the Pats that turned the game around, Pats were going in for the killer score and Brackett stripped the ball. Game turned around after that.

There are 2 players left who have not been picked - one of whom is Peyton Freakin' Manning!  14/16 players have been picked.

I just did one where I was throwing the ball, and not being thrown to.  This was the last item before I got my name-

A) Scrambling isn’t where I excel…

Or...

A) Yeah!  Follow my block and you’ll find the endzone.

You are...

    • Ballard speaks eloquently and that makes fan base calm down for that moment, but not exactly transparent...   Example:    Start of last season: Ballard said he liked the young secondary he just drafted.    Year-end Presser: He blamed himself for throwing the young secondary group into the fire.   Pre-draft presser: Ballard says, The young secondary group is not going anymore, and they've all grown up. (When zero off-season program or progress they achieved between January and April)   What exactly transparency we see here? But, Ballard knows how to appease people, and talk to media so that people will trust him.
    • On Grigson we....oh wait... on Ballard we trust! Trade down on select one of the two premium CB and get an additional selection. With injury concerns we will see Latu go down with a season ending injury within the first five games. Bet on it we have that kind of luck. Also Ballards track record on Edge players is lousy.
    • Latu is the #1 DE in the draft in my opinion. He's a technician like none of the others will ever be. Turner has had almost all of his snaps at OLB and probably fits that role better. I'm extremely happy with this pick.
    • I'm not knowledgeable enough to judge this pick but I'm struggling to square two of the most common posts in favor of this pick    1. Injury isn't a big deal.  2. He would have been top 5 without the injury.   Which is it? Elite talent that has no red flags doesnt fall very far. Is it a red flag or not?
    • I thought someone might ask "who" I would want him to swing for the fences for.....and its tough to explain, but I will try. I would have loved Marv Jr. for nostalgia but knew that was unrealistic at any cost.....Liked the idea of Brock Bowers, etc. but its not really "WHO" for me, it was the effort, risk it....and this applies to FA as well. Go out on a limb for a difference maker, I think they are more qualified to determine "who" that is than I.....and maybe there wasn't one. but over the last 7 or 8 years there have been opportunities in FA and draft. So maybe my disappointment is more cumulative than this instance specific......Dunno if that makes sense, he has played it safe for years and does well with what he has had, guess I am saying (my opinion) at some point you gotta say "I am pushing all in" for this player as we need that over the top player now......and he never seems to reach that boiling point.
