Prime time games

Recommended Posts

With the schedule gonna be released in a few weeks, let's see how many prime time games we might get.

Raiders or bills vs colts could be a good Monday night game.

Maybe colts vs pats for Sunday night

Eagles colts will be a Sunday night game for sure.

I was thinking maybe cowboys for thanksgiving, but I think those games are at Dallas.

Atleast one division game on Thursday

im not sure how many we will get after a 4 win season, they don't usually give primetime games to the bottom teams in the league. We will probably get a Thursday night with Houston or Jax, and one Sunday night with Dallas or Ne...maybe the Eagles because of the Reicht connection.

4 wins don't matter when your QB is Andrew luck. That's an easy sell

Yeah, But don't you think the schedule makers will be concerned that Luck may be unavailable for a certain game in the season?

So could a bunch of other high profile players. It happens

The thought of a healthy Luck can factor into that decision. We are a MUCH better team with him. Build a solid offensive line around him and watch the magic Think how much better Costanzo and Kelly would be next to Nelson

I see a lot of Sunday games at noon in our future.

One of the few positives about the Colts being rubbish, games are on at a reasonable time for us international fans! haha

Get to watch games live without being walking zombies the next day at work.

Yeah...but they got burned on that last year.

That's what I was thinking. If they're the kind to hold grudges...

Also, most of last seasons SNF and MNF games ended up being terrible. I think they're gonna be trying really hard to make more marquee/obvious match ups.

They might not hold a grudge...but they don't forget. Playing with their money is like playing with their emotions...and the Colts last season were not good for ratings. At the local level, ratings were down more than 25% versus the 2016 season...which is like 83,000+ people. And those are Colts fans...not average NFL fans who don't care about the Colts to begin with.

More likely, they are just going to be smart about it. Luck is a much bigger question mark now (until he throws) than he was last spring. If he does come back, they could always flex a game or two. But I highly doubt they slot the Colts into many primetime games...except for maybe NE (McDaniels angle) or if the Colts just happen to be playing another team that will get several primetime games (PHI, DAL).

Will be lucky to get 1 after last season. and it may be Pats vs Colts game, Just because of the drama of McDaniels.

I think we maybe get 1....    a Thursday night game.      That's where the networks put bad teams in Prime Time,  Thursday night.

And we might get the NE game...   as someone noted,  the Josh McDaniel story line might be interesting...    but then again,   it's a story line that might only interest fans of the Colts and the Patriots and maybe not many other teams....

Don't expect much.     The schedule makers are working on this now....    no one knows when Luck will be ready and how good he'll be when he returns.     He's still one big giant question mark.      And the rest of the roster isn't much to write home about....

Set your expectations for low and be happily surprised if you get more.

The Colts are not going to bring big ratings.   The Colts/ Pats game may hold a little nostalgia rivalry tradition especially with the JM factor.

    • Wow been waiting for this one for awhile, what a slobberknocker...44-41 Syracuse in ot, knew it would hit the over, that was easy money. Both squads top 25 worthy. UNLV best group of 5 team I have seen so far with all due respect to Boise and Army who is destroying opponents. Cuse can play with anyone in the ACC, the McCord redemption tour continues.
    • I feel you here. I can much easier let a loss roll off back now. Not nearly as emotional. Yes I still feel a tiny bit sad during the week after a loss but it’s much less emotional for me now.
    • I will just say this. I thought for sure with all the injuries they were going to get beat by Steelers. I was shocked how well they played. It might look bad for Sunday but let’s have a little faith. I think we might be turning s corner with having a better coach then what we have had in the past. Hopefully we are less streaky and more consistent with Shane.
    • Sure. I support that, too. What I don't get is people saying others need to stop discussing this subject or that people are ruining this message board by stating opinions they don't agree with.
    • I know this doesn't compare to your children, but I have genuinely put in an effort as well not to yell or get violent since I've got my Labrador Retriever 2 1/2 years ago. She is my life, and I always want her to be comfortable around me. I've finally got on some good medication that has lowered my outbursts, and I'm probably living a better life than I have since 2011 which was the last year I had a huge social life and was traveling and playing pokemon with all my best friends.    I just enjoy sports a ton and is still a mini-escape from life. I want to feel like I can enjoy a journey that my team can win a championship. If we lose, that's one thing and I'm fine with it as long as there is maximum effort given. When we lose and it's due to circumstances out of our control (injuries) seemingly every year, that's when I become apathetic towards the team over time.   The Atlanta Braves had a horrible season with injuries this year, but because we won a WS three years ago and make the playoffs every year, it's more forgivable. When we just lose every year, or the times we win it's a QB like Rivers who has 1 year with us and he retires, I just give up. I have no control to fix the team myself, and I resort to playing Madden instead.   Also, I'm sorry that you lost your friend in NC due to the flooding. That has to be horrible to go through. I have a bunch of friends in the South who lost power for 3 1/2 days and a cousin in Florida whose house got destroyed and she has to move in with her sister now. That hurricane sucked for so many people.
