He will probably still play. But they could sit him a game so it heals properly and doesn’t effect him all season.

Nah. We need him so we can finally win in that cesspool they call a stadium in Jacksonville

I would do what the team doctors say needs to be done and if that means he can play Sunday so be it.

Agreed.

I would not take the risk of aggravating it and making it worse

Even though mild, its still a high ankle sprain.  I'd sit JT.   Sermon looks like a tough runner and I like him better than I thought I did.  He won't break 60 yarders, but he can move the chains, IMO.

Why can't Hull play over Goodson?  Based on what I saw of him as a rookie, I like him better than Goodson.

If the Colts liked him they probably wouldn't have released him and then put him on the practice squad. I liked him too in what limited action I saw. He seemed very decisive and fast.

I'm sure the medical staff will make the determination on JTs ankle.

Hull obviously didn't impress the coaches much.  There is a lot we don't know.

JT will play if he wants to. They can tape him up. This new player pales in comparison to the older players that played hurt every game. I guess I am old school here

Oh you're old school.   So you know the amount of pain a player is experiencing?  Good lord some of you are ridiculous.    "I've been watching football a long time.  I know what playing on a high ankle sprain feels like"

Just nonsense

I’m playing JT at 80% if he says he can play. We can’t afford to lose him & AR the same game.

3-2 vs 2-3 is a HUGE difference considering the divisional record & parity among the AFC right now. These next 3 games are the most important stretch of the season.

i expect us to lose 3 of 5 after the Dolphins game.

Not because we are bad - but it’s a brutal 5 game strecth. Texans, Vikings, Bills, Jets, & Lions. We will be underdogs in every single game.

Absolutely.  A mild sprain would never put a player on the bench.  They retape him and out he goes.  With a week to-get ready he will play.  They used to give players shots for pain and they would play.  His doesn’t even look serious.

Meh.. yeah just give him a week, nobody is expecting to win in Duval anyways right. Hopefully AR gets another week too. Maybe Kelly can finally get right? Honestly we should treat this week like a florida vacation; A mini bye week.

I’d be surprised if JT plays with even a mild HAS this early in the season - if doing so means a higher chance of having him at less than 100% for the latter half of the schedule.

It appears to be the same ankle he had previous issues with. “Mild” is good news but a sprain is always risky. I think Sermon gets the start if JT can’t go.

Injuries - Part of the Game for every team in the league. Let’s do the Colt’s first.

Brents            Downs

Ebukam          Kelly

Buckner          Richardson ?

Paye                Taylor ?

Moore              Gay

Blackmon

2-2 record with 1/2 of our starters possibly missing time so far. It’s a game of attrition. I’m impressed with the next man up theme so far, let’s see come Gametime this Sunday at Trevorbank stadium who plays. Been going to this place 10 years running and I can count the TD’s we have scored on 1 hand. Low expectations every year, but the tailgating is awesome. We have a 50% shot, why not get Lucky this Time!!! Go Blue

A high ankle sprain, even if considered mild, is a different animal than the typical 'rolled' ankle sprain, and takes at least twice as long (or more) for recovery.

High ankle sprain even if it’s a mild version he’s probably missing the next 2 games.

Though we don't know for certain yet, this is in the realm of possibility. Besides, it may be the same ankle where he's had prior history in 2022 as well as surgery in early 2023. Taking this into consideration, a multi-week absence could be an outcome for him in the short term. An improperly healed high ankle sprain has long term ramifications to consider, as well.

    • Probably twice I can remember but never missed a game.
    • I would honestly trade pittman and draft someone that is A a better player more dynamic weapon and B cheaper.
    • Gus will get fired and nothing else will change.   After the Colts finish with a top 15 pick its going to be the same thing.   Ballard will say “Look, we didn’t get it done. I will hold myself accountable and I didn’t give us enough to do go win games. Look We had some tough injuries. Things just didn’t go our way. I still believe in these young guys.”   Ballard mentioned in his earlier years that he will spend to get the team over the top. Once he believed the Colts were close to a championship he would be willing to risk more to get some guys to put it all together. Problem is, we haven’t even been close because of his poor decisions and stubbornness.    Okay rant over.
    • Guys I will take the blame for all the injuries. I don’t know what I did to get cursed but all of my sports teams this year are made of glass. I’m a huge braves fan and we lost our star outfielder Ronald Acuna for the year and our star pitcher Spencer strider for the year.  That’s not all, our all star level players Ozzie albies ,Austin Riley , and Roy winner Michael Harris, lost over 50 games each with injury.   Oh and our best pitcher and this years most likely cy young winner got injured and couldn’t pitch in the playoffs.    I feel like I’ve seen so many injuries this year on my favorite teams that I’m some how causing it , like medusas gaze lol.    No but seriously I think this could be a blessing in disguise. Pittman wasn’t exactly lighting the world on fire and I think our young guys could use the experience of stepping up into a higher role in the offense. We will see how it goes.
