Colts Vs. Texans Game Day Thread

It didn't work, but I didn't mind going for the win.

That's three excruciating losses, though.  Sunday is starting to suck.

Is that the worst call of all time?

No.....hardly....

....The Houston DB made a good play..

..without TY and Doyle...I'd have taken the tie

But Houston outplayed us.they were up 18..

That was a Pagano style coaching blunder. Absolutely mind boggling.

Take solace in the fact that’s not been a weekly occurrence like last year?  Just brutal, though, brutal. <angerrrrr>

You guys wear me out.

Content with playing for a tie? When a tie doesn't get us to the playoffs? Get out of here. I love it. Play to win or don't play at all. Pagano would have punted the hell out of the ball and smiled. We played to win. Get over it.

It's aggressive, they need a win, so I am not upset with it.  If the team was 2-1 or 3-0, that would be a different story.

What a game! What an effort from Luck and the offense in the second half! Although we lost, you have to appreciate what Luck did in this game...with so many drops by the receivers and no run game, he willed them back into the game.

Welcome back Andrew Luck.

It was a risky call, but not a bad call. Poor execution perhaps.

If I were the HC I had chosen to punt, and draw...but that's me.

Really?  I'd rather be 1-2-1 than 1-3........although I doubt that it is going to make a difference down the stretch.  I don't see this being a playoff team.

That decision by frank looks to me as the front office and Frank take that season for developing and rather take the higher pick than a tie....

I think that's been the mindset from the beginning.  They aren't just going to come out and say it though.  Spent no money in free agency at all , etc.. It's clear .

Hey Cubs are winning haha . Damn that was a suck way to lose, this forum will be negative again for 3 days. Damn we should be 4-0 lmao . At least we know Andrew doesn't have a noodle arm

Very tough loss and we are on our way to 6-10 now folks. I do like the fact we have been in every game though, how many Yards did Andrew have today? Almost 500 wasn't it, anyway yeah I know we lost. Let the fire Reich Threads begin :billiejean:

Agreed. Play to win. Most of this forum have been screaming about being too soft and not aggressive enough. I have no problem with the call, but the D got gashed. That shouldn't have happened. Should have triple teamed Hopkins

D was gassed and probably deflated after the offense failed to convert on that gamble.  I’m not upset with Reich.  I was hoping he would go for the win.

IMO the call to run the ball (that failed and we got called for holding on) was just as dumb.  Our running game was non existant - what reason was there to think it was going to improve on a potential game winning drive in OT?

I have no problem going for it. Just wish we went to Hines on a LB. Thats a long tough throw to the outside. All the people crying about ties the past month got their wish. We don’t play to lose or tie...we play to win. It’s a young team and I think that lesson will sit well with them.

Absolutely. But we arent. We needed to win. We had the defense gassed and on their heels. We needed a better play call.

When is Ballard going to see offence needs some help? Especially with the injuries we got today

He’s nearly fixed the D in 2 years, I’d say he hasn’t gotten the chance yet. He’s been impressive so far, just need an offensively focused draft now

  DeShawn was 29 of 42, 375 yards, 2 Tds..one INT

Andrew was 40 of 62, 464 yards, 4 Tds, 0 INts

If I didnt care who won, that was a great game

Good effort, we could be 4-0 right now, but we're 1-3, soon to be 1-4. Andrew had a career game but some turnovers didn't help. So here's a 3 round mini-mock draft to cheer us up:

7: R1P7

OT JONAH WILLIAMS

ALABAMA

38: R2P6

WR J.J. ARCEGA-WHITESIDE

STANFORD

39: R2P7

RB BRYCE LOVE

STANFORD

71: R3P7

CB CHAUNCEY GARDNER JR.

FLORIDA

In Australia if your team did something like that you would literally be run out of town, so for me it is the mindset i have. I’d rather a tie than a loss.

That's the way I feel as well.  Someone made a good comment that this is pretty much just a LONG LONG practice session for next season lol.

The play call was not even that bad, they just have to execute better.  They are in a tough spot with the Online in the shape it's in and the lack of depth.  The talent level on the team looks improved from last year, but it is not anywhere near what they need to be competitive for championships.

The coach’s line will likely be playing for the win, but in that instance, you’re giving up a point and causing a 2 point separation against a division foe. BAD, bad, horrible decision.

IF you wanted to truly go for it, though, you do it the first time when Houston figured you’re just trying to draw them offside. At least then there’s an element of surprise.

Props to Luck for throwing for over 400 yards.  Too bad it was in a losing effort. High passing yardage usually results when you are playing from behind as the Colts were today. But still good to see those numbers from him after the last two weeks.

That is because foreigners play soccer and rugby and are used to ties. Americans play to win the game. If we had more to play for maybe we play for the tie but this team is trying to build an identity...and I like playing to win...just wish it was executed better.

If we're in the top 7 and don't get one of those DL , I'm gunna be real sad.

One thing is certain - you have to let Luck gun it.  It's what he's good at.  Yes, you want a more controlled offense than the erratic Pep stuff, but you gotta throw it down the field and outside the numbers.

Those turnovers where the difference in the game.  Also, that draft would not cheer me up.
