Probably gonna be a signing here shortly. Last time I did this, the signing happened right after. Forgot who it was though. Might’ve been Autry

Let’s do this! Bring in more meat on the line and protect 12!

Looked up Castonzo, he turns 30 in August.

Howard just turned 31 in March.

Perhaps this would take some pressure off the draft. He doesn't have enough picks to build an elite OL in one draft.

I hope he can strike a deal with Howard.

Reading the comments from this Raven Blog. The consensus seems to say Howard is a good OT.

However, Baltimore is strapped against the salary cap, and have several younger players waiting in the wings.

Should the Ravens release OT Austin Howard?

Been waiting for 7 weeks for something worth commenting on . (Too much nonsense ) ( Not this board but the 11000 NFL rumors on the internet ) Signing this guy does seem like a worthwhile idea and here in my area of the world NY/NJ Media being envious of Colts situation in this Draft 2nd round amount of picks wise .

Howard is a guy I recognize and he's pretty decent. Haven't seen him play much, but I believe he is a guy who could make the 53, and be a solid spot starter at RT. I still would prefer we draft a RT though in the first 3 rounds to compete with him. I would also be happy with Brandon Parker on day 3 as well to compete at RT as I think he could be one of the best players to go on Saturday.

I don't see this as a starter unless they don't find anybody in the draft.  I feel like this would be a depth signing but they are REALLY hoping somebody good is there in round 2 like a Tyrell Crosby or Kolton Miller.  This is plan B IMHO.

Howard has been a serviceable starter throughout his career.  He would be a nice stop gap for a couple of years. It would allow us to spend more picks on Defense and such in the draft, which is where I think focus needs to be.

A starting line of-

Castanzo- LT

Mewhort- LG

Kelly- C

Haeg/ draft pick- RG

Howard-RT

Would be pretty solid IMHO

I'd bring in as many offensive linemen that I could if I were Ballard. Because you know you're going to lose almost half to injury and roster cuts. Might as well take a long look at as many guys as you can before the season officially starts.
