Would like to point out that both Faulk and Taylor missed games due to injury. Not sure who missed more.

That is Faulk's total for 5 full years with Indy.

This is the start of Taylor's 5th. Great company for sure.

Faulk played in 67 games. Taylor 53. If we didn't have Taylor right now we would stink to be honest and some in here wanted to trade him for a 4th round pick lmao .

Taylor is actually a better RB (pure runner) than Faulk but Faulk was a better overall player because he could catch the ball much better.

It's honestly amazing when you think about it. Thanks to Harbaugh, Manning and Luck we've been mostly known as a passing team.

But we've got real Hall of Fame talent pedigree in the stables when it comes to running backs.

Definitely makes the running back in me smile to see JT move up that list. He had some vintage 2021 jump cuts on Sunday. If you don't get him down after the first contact, good night. He's gone!

Well remember Faulk only played 5 seasons with I dry before he went to the Rams.  He has a total of 100 touchdowns rushing and another 36 touchdowns receiving. Throughout his entire career.

A better pure runner than Faulk? Have you watched Faulk play? He was a highlight reel waiting to happen. Super elusive , maneuvered so well in tight spaces and at his size still had enough pop to lower his head and power through tackles. Mind you this is during an Era where they didn’t protect players like they do now. Those safeties and linebackers were HITTING.

As a pure runner, Faulk was overrated. Dickerson was better IMO. Faulk was a great runner (never said he wasn't) but what made him really great he could catch the ball like a WR.

If you factor in Dick's Rams days and his whole career, Dick is top 5 ever:

1. Jim Brown

2. Emmitt Smith

3. Walter Payton

4. Barry Sanders

5. Eric Dickerson

Barry Sanders 2nd. Lenny Moore should be 3rd. His Consecutive Games with a TD record stood for about 50 years!

Lenny is underrated, why I have no idea.

Probably because Indpls Fans didn’t see him play?  He was awesome. He could run , he could catch, he could return kicks, and he could BLOCK!!!!

We are going to have to agree to disagree, as a ball carrier he was not overrated by any means. His broken tackle percentage is very ELITE amongst the greats he ranks in the top 5.

For Fun My ranking of this list in order of best runners:

1. Dickerson

2. Edge

3. JT

4. Lenny Moore

(Note, #2,3, &4 could have gone either way imo)

5. Faulk(couldn't play in '95 playoff run :yuk:, costing us a Super Bowl)

6. Addai

7. Matte

8. Ameche

9. McCauley

Though not a original colt and not here for long Dickerson is a All Time Great and was a pleasure to watch.

I never seen Lenny Moore and not much highlights so his placement was difficult.

I think Lydell Mitchell was better than the last several on this list and he was great pass catcher too, like Faulk.

I hear this but to my dying day I will maintain Payton far exceeded Smiths talent, and if Smith had to be on the garbage teams Payton was on for 80% of his career, he would be ranked in the 20s or 30s all time.

If Payton had Erik Williams, Larry Allen and Nate Newton blowing up d-linemen for him, he would have set the record impossibly high.

And once we add receiving and blocking ability the difference is even more stark.

Thanks, grew up watching WP…

Emmitt could block and catch too. He beat the Giants with HFA on the line in 1993 with 1 arm. As great as the Cowboys were, they started 0-2 without him. When he came back they won 9 straight.

I am still sour about Faulk not playing in the 95 playoffs and he would also leave games over minor injuries. Only thing Faulk had over Dickerson was he could catch the ball better. If I want a workhorse RB, it's Dickerson all day. You could give Dick the ball 30 times and he would still be ok. Dick also played with some of the worse QB's in the league and carried his teams to the playoffs. Faulk had Harbaugh, Manning, and Warner - he was lucky. Dick had freakin Jack Trudeau and we still won the division.

My Top 5 regarding in a Colts uniform:

1. Dickerson - played long enough here, he is a top 50 player of all-time period.

2. Edge - had the best stats in a Colts uniform.

3. Faulk

4. Moore

5. JT

-as far as pure running ability

Addai doesn't get the credit he deserves.  He had Mannings back with fantastic blocks and caught a whole lot of 1st downs out of the backfield. Plus what he did during the superbowl year was also overlooked.

He and Rhodes were a good 1-2 punch that year.

Imo Addai and Rhodes were co MVPs of the superbowl.

Them and the O line were awesome. Thought Bob Sanders was also a candidate, but not upset they chose Peyton.

I agree.

Dickerson, imo, may be the all time best runner ever!?!  And thats saying a lot considering how many great backs there have been. Happy he was ours for a while.

Yeah I'm sour too about Faulk not being available for the '95 Run, which I'm positive with him we would have made the Super Bowl.
