They probably had their minds made up weeks ago. Just wanted to give Pagano a shot at ending the season.

Financially, getting the second contract was good for Chuck.  Career wise, maybe not.  Had the Colts gone in another direction two years ago, Chuck would have gotten another head coaching job somewhere.
