Season is all but over. No point in throwing injured people out there.

That's how I read it.  Despite how wrong it is, it seems the team is shutting down for the season.  They are not going to try to win out and make it to the playoffs.

If that is the case (and as a fan we will be able to tell this week against Minnesota) it will be tough to support this team as long as the current front office is in control.

Grigson has been haunted at certain spots.

WR4:    Avery,  DHB,  Nicks,  Johnson.      All last one year.

CB 2:    Whoever we had in 2012?     Toler,  and now Robinson

And....   up until this year...

Center:    Too many to list for 4 years.      Now, thankfully,  Kelly.

You've got to definitely NOT have an eye for talent if you actually downgrade from a guy like Toler.

Can't blame the GM for injuries, though I certainly hope people in Indy are looking into the issue.  Indy is consistently one of the most injured teams in the league.  They need to figure out why

maybe were just shutting down players where it isnt worth rushing them back in 3 weeks or less? did anyone else feel like so many players esp of D have gotten injured multiple times this season bc they were rushed back to play? or just bad luck lol

idk, either way im not mad at all that theyre doing this with the players they placed already, coaching prioritizing health of next season vs the next 3 games, and well be able to see more of the younger players get some more experience and see what they can do.  how we play minnesota this weekend will really show if we did indeed throw in the towel

The injuries just keep coming folks. It's really almost laughable at this point

When you sign a CB that is in the history books for historically bad games what is expected . Never understood why he was brought in the be a number 2 corner his only decent play was in the slot .

In fairness every GM ever fired could use injuries as an excuse. He's just good at bringing in dud hopeful retreads.

It was one of Grigson's mediocre guys with high hopes, Like Ricky Jean-Francois.

Robinson had one good year (much like Toler) only difference was that he had a good year in the slot. That doesn't usually translate well to the outside, much like Darius Butler. Great slot CB, not so good on the outside.

Someone on here was saying that when he was signed.....  anyone remember who it was?

He's gonna b 30 and can't stay healthy.  Vontae is pushing 30 and Butler is finishing up a career year at 30 pushing 31....likely gonna have DB problems in the coming years.

Definitely agree the CB situation could potentially get worse as well. Like we don't have enough holes.

Love Vontae, but he's starting to become a high mileage player who will most likely not be a #1 for more then a couple years at best. Not a knock on him, but CB is definitely a high body abuse position. Obviously football injuries occur at every position, but I hope you get how I meant that. CB's get in on a lot of tackles and running hard almost every play.

Monachino with his tattered defense be like

I expect his bone will come in this upcoming draft of 2017. They gave the team Art Jones as a FA splash, he has just failed. Got Davis as a FA splash and that has paid off. Walden has been a solid add from FA to the team, he has played above expectations IMO. All the other additions to Defense from FA or draft just really haven't panned out yet and the one who looked like a star in the making, Anderson, of course he blew out a knee and hasn't looked close to his production as a rookie. And I think this team hoped to get solid production from Mathis and he is just old, to old to be a starter. I'd like to see him as a rotational 3rd down specialist only if anything at all.

We have to hit at least 2 productive starters in the next draft or Lucks time is going to be wasted.

Melvin isn't good.

I'm sure you have PFF grades to back that up,  but I confess I'm surprised you have this view.

I think for a FA the kid is decent.    He's not very skilled,  but I think he's highly competitive.    I think he's been as good as Robinson -- not a high bar to clear -- and I think we've had worse.     And since he's young,  I think he'll get better.

I also think he passes the eye ball test....    I don't see him getting beat badly very often,  and I wonder how much better he might be if we had any kind of pass rush.     I think he's a feisty guy whose play is better than the sum total of his physical gifts might suggest.

1.  Peterson can't be compared to Toler.  Toler was bad even when healthy.  Peterson was better.

2.  Throwing in the towel?  How so?  Throwing in the towel would be KEEPING these guys on the team and just not playing them.  By putting them on IR, they can fill the roster, which is WORSE if you are trying to throw the season.

Lot's to be disgruntled about.  No need to look for things to add.
