He's small, but fast.....

Seems like a Kenny Moore type of guy. I'm guessing a slot CB

 

 

Strengths

 

Three-year starter and team captain in 2021.

Finished career with a whopping 41 pass breakups.

Able to post receiver with his jab all the way through press release.

Good ball/man eye balance from off coverage.

Dexterity to swerve and pivot in cadence with the route.

Searches for tells from wide receiver inside the route.

Shortcuts route breaks to find plays on the football.

Very fast and plays with good short-area twitch.

 

Weaknesses

 

Below-average tackle strength and toughness.

Loose with footwork from his backpedal.

Not always technically sound in his coverage.

Fails to keep feet under him, leading to slips in transitions.

High-cut frame limits body control to shadow from a shuffle.

Losses come when he fails to properly locate the football.

Needs to maintain poise and keep from grabbing downfield

 

Overview

 

Former walk-on who has developed into a ball-hawking slot defender. Womack has eye-popping speed and quickness with above-average ball production as a three-year starter. He's a natural at searching for clues and utilizing quality pathways to play the throw. Inconsistent technique and a lack of poise and positioning downfield are areas of concern that might not be easily correctable with coaching. Womack is not strong against the run, but he's sticky from press and instinctive from zone, which gives him a chance to compete for a roster spot.

Much better throughout his career when he has played outside as opposed to slot even though his body type would suggest the opposite. On paper an upgrade over Flowers even though Flowers has so few snaps we still really dont know what we have yet. Flowers hopefully regains his pre injury burst, we havent quite seen that yet.

Since he is fast, his utility value on special teams could also be a reason for the waiver claims, in addition to his CB play. We just have to hope the CB play aspect of his holds up.

I'm excited for what he can bring.  He goes after the ball.  He along with Moore, Blackmon and Jones are players who are always looking for the interception.  If these four stay healthy i'm expecting more turnovers.

Womack has 2 starts on the season while Flowers has yet to start a game.

You should double check. I just did. Womack started both games, with Jaylon Johnson on the other side, and Kenny Moore at nickel. 

 

Against the Packers, Womack got 20 snaps, Flowers got 19. Against the Bears, Womack got 28 snaps, Flowers got 41 (and he left before the game ended, so maybe he would have gotten more). Maybe Flowers was on his way to taking Womack's spot in the lineup, but Womack was on the field as a starter in both games.

The 49ers are my favorite NFC team and I watch 80% of their games, and he’s a guy who can be good on the outside. Just don’t move him in as a nickel because he gets lost with regularity. Thats what got him on the outs in SF. They moved him inside and… eeeeeeeeh 😬.

      I would honestly trade pittman and draft someone that is A a better player more dynamic weapon and B cheaper.

      Gus will get fired and nothing else will change.   After the Colts finish with a top 15 pick its going to be the same thing.   Ballard will say “Look, we didn’t get it done. I will hold myself accountable and I didn’t give us enough to do go win games. Look We had some tough injuries. Things just didn’t go our way. I still believe in these young guys.”   Ballard mentioned in his earlier years that he will spend to get the team over the top. Once he believed the Colts were close to a championship he would be willing to risk more to get some guys to put it all together. Problem is, we haven’t even been close because of his poor decisions and stubbornness.    Okay rant over.

      Guys I will take the blame for all the injuries. I don’t know what I did to get cursed but all of my sports teams this year are made of glass. I’m a huge braves fan and we lost our star outfielder Ronald Acuna for the year and our star pitcher Spencer strider for the year.  That’s not all, our all star level players Ozzie albies ,Austin Riley , and Roy winner Michael Harris, lost over 50 games each with injury.   Oh and our best pitcher and this years most likely cy young winner got injured and couldn’t pitch in the playoffs.    I feel like I’ve seen so many injuries this year on my favorite teams that I’m some how causing it , like medusas gaze lol.    No but seriously I think this could be a blessing in disguise. Pittman wasn’t exactly lighting the world on fire and I think our young guys could use the experience of stepping up into a higher role in the offense. We will see how it goes.
