Serious question to a lot of the detractors on here, let us accept that most people don't remember the play by play of games just the result.

With that thinking in mind, if we go in the half being within a TD considering how we've been outplayed, how we've lost yet more CBs, how the O has regressed back to 3 and outs, don't you think we should actually kinda be happy it's this close?

We all know what Luck is capable of when he gets going... and he is the 4th Qtr monster.

3 is fine.  Keep it a 1 possession game

one possession and we get posession to start the 3rd...better than we deserve with the yardage the way it is

It's a one possession game going into the half.  Yardage is way skewed in their favour, but the score is the only thing that matters.  We receive to begin the second half, and we're good at making those halftime adjustments.  This game is not over

It's a miracle to be a 7 point game. We need a strong 2nd half.... And no more injuries!

Put me in coach, I'm ready

No it's not over but looks pretty bleak considering Luck is not getting a lot of help nor is he playing well.

It's a miracle that we are only down 7 if you look at the stats. Let's find an excuse to win this one! haha

Yep all it matters is the score. If we get outgained by a 4 to 1 margin like it is now I will be like any other fan of other teams and say Andrew Luck played Great and he's the reason we won haha Just kidding but that is what people do with their favorite QB's. At least Luck hasn't turned it over and that is a big reason why we are actually in it. I knew their QB would turn it over at least once if not twice. We should've scored a TD on his 1 so far but Butler came up lame while running to the house of all things.

Yep more injuries. Off the top of my head, Moncrief, Butler, Cro, Ridgeway all got hurt at one point or another

Agreed. With our short comings on D, and our struggling offense, we are fortunate to still be so close. Offense adjustments and we get hot we have a decent chance.

This has the makings of the Dolphins game in 09 when the time of possession was 45-15 and we won at the end, except apply that same percentage to yardage for today

Butler pulled up lame while headed towards the endzone on a potential pick six.  Dropped to the ground with no one around him.  Just our luck.  Lol.

Butler and Cromartie should play soccer.....why do we have so many injuries?  Soft coach...not making them condition

Yes, we're lucky to not be down 3 touchdowns.

As for our offense, I'd just say that Denver's defense is (thus far, anyway) dominating us.  Receivers aren't getting enough separation.  And, as usual, we're getting embarrassed at the line of scrimmage.  Luck is consistently under pressure and both teams know we can't run the ball.

Our offensive line is just....well....offensive.  I'm sure Denver's elite D has a lot to do with that.  But through 6 quarters of football this season, our offense has looked atrocious in 4 of them.  And it mostly comes back to our old Achilles Heel: the line.

Defensively, I think we've done about as well as can be expected with 4 or 5 scout teamers out there.  I'd like to see more pressure on the QB: force him to make some bad throws.

Moore's had to pick up his jockstrap a couple times.

I don't think you understand how injuries work.  You can't coach injuries away

Well, the score is all that matters at the end of the game.  That's true.  But I hope and expect the coaches aren't adopting that attitude at half.  We've got to move the ball to score, and we have to score to win.

We're lucky as heck to only be down 7.  But if we don't get our problems figured out, we have no chance.

I really don't understand why people don't grasp this.

You can most certainly minimize the potential for injuries by having a proper strength and conditioning program implemented by a coach.

I'm not surprised at Luck getting lit up by this elite defense. It's a miracle we're still in this game.

I don't think you understand that it is the off-season that matters.....you make sure your players are the correct ones (Grigson's job) and are in shape and can take contact (Pagano's).   It is not just a coincidence that we have so many hurt players on the roster.  It is because we tolerate it.  Pagano in particular.  Why do  you think the team loves him?

And how do we know that the Colts haven't taken those precautions and the injuries are a result of something else?

I agree to a certain extent, there will always be arguments and fads about what is the "correct" way to condition players, but I think we can all agree that the Colts are probably employing people who know more about sports science than we do.

At the end of the day football is a brutal vicious game, that taxes the body to the max even in the non contact aspects (fast cuts, repeated throwing etc.) and those bodies that are being taxed are quite often taken beyond the boundaries of what it normally considered "healthy".

That and we see to have an injury curse!

    • Potentially 4/5 qbs can go before the Colts get a chance to pick one. How likely is that now?
    • Going to kick off my WR write ups with Brandon Aiyuk, Listed between 6 and 6-1 but typically shows 205 for weight. He was the successor for N'keal Harry out of Arizona State however the two couldn't be more opposite. The guy is a absolute burner once he gets behind a defense. Games watched were against Michigan state, USC, Oregon state and Oregon. I will say he did suffer from some QB play and there were several times he was open but was overlooked.   Strengths The kid is an absolute burner and once he is gone, go ahead and mark it a TD. Versatile and will play special teams and return kicks and punts at a very effective rate. Does a absolutely wonderful job of setting up a CB for a double move. Has quick and choppy feet. Can be very agile and when he wants he can leave a defender in his dust after his first cut. Shows that he consciously attempts to catch the ball with his hands. Shows the ability to learn and get better and is a good candidate to build up.   Weaknesses He is not physical at all. If he gets pressed at the line he will lose the battle 90% of the time.  This comes in at blocking as well, there are times where he just moves his feet and lets the defender run right beside him. Has a problem with drops and losing control of the ball, is a natural body catcher even though he will try to use his hands to catch the ball. He almost seems lazy at times and can be very slow in and out of breaks. He gives up on routes before the ball is thrown if he doesnt think he is going to have the ball thrown to him. A Lot of his film leaves me questioning his effort and motor.   Overall I came into watching his film very excited from a little bit of forum hype. His numbers where impressive enough to see him as a higher prospect. However I came away very unimpressed. He is a deep threat WR but does not have a sudden step to him. He is a longer build up speedster. I don't think he would be a good fit for the Colts, I believe we drafted the same style player only way more dynamic in Parris Campbell last year. A team like the Ravens or Chargers would likely be a much better fit for him. What turned me off the most on him was how sluggish he is during some plays and almost appears like he is just jogging to his break in the route, he's  got the speed so i'm not sure why he doesn't utilize it? Low effort players do nothing to me no matter how athletic they are.     I am trying to keep these less in depth then last year because of complaints how long they have been in previous years, I also will not include guess' like draft spot and player comps unless one just jumps out at me.
    • God, yeah that was another beautiful pass. Just now learning about his baseball background and I can see it now.
