That's just one take, and I mentioned he has talent and measurables. But this could also explain why kid wasn't rushed to the lineup either. I'm just hoping he's better in these areas, that's all.  I don't expect him to be reggie wayne, but hoping for better than DHB production.

I'm not getting my hopes up until I see him play.  He may just be on STs Sunday.

If they keep Patterson on TY, we could have a size advantage with him and DHB over Powers.  Cason has good size though.

He dropped too many, but it's not even close to DHB. Even Donnie Avery had glue for hands compared to DHB.

Garçon drop rate

2009 - 7.9

2010 - 16.25

2011 - 6.8

2012 - 10.2

2013 - 9.46

DHB

2013 - 23.33

Not even close.

And to add icing on the cake, DHB drops almost every ball that's contested and those don't count statistically as drops, where as Garçon is very good in traffic.

** Numbers from PFF

Honestly they could probably just neglect to cover DHB the entire game and still win.

Quite honestly I don't care what stats are shown for drops on any player, the eye test provides any reasonable person that DHB can't catch a ball with any consistency and hasn't made any spectacular catches. Garcoñ at least made the spectacular ones and many others, lacked focus at times though.

Thats fine and you can formulate your own opinion. I was just simply pointing out tp the poster that he shouldnt quote a source incprrectly. Rather provide the link. Because when you look at the numbers. He was wrong

The stats I posted are behind a paywall but I assure you are accurate (according to PFF). They are more subjective than the regular drop stat that says a player must be open by 50 yards, not moving, and the ball must hit the player square in the chest for it to be considered a drop.

If he can run across the middle and catch a 10 yard pass, he will do.

Bubble screens, slants, short outs, and jet screens should be what he does. Anything over 10 yards will be a problem for him. I like him in the slot like he was when we played the 49ers.

He was released from Tennessee and went to Tennessee Tech, of course he dominated there. He has measurables and talent for sure, but I hope he's improved both his attitude and skills in these areas-

He also led the SEC in receptions and receiving yards his sophomore season at Tennessee, had nine touchdowns (second in the SEC), and was named a first-team All SEC selection. So, it's not like he didn't shine until he started going up against the Little Sisters of the Poor.

I agree about hoping he can keep his head on straight and succeed in the NFL. Someone with more knowledge than I can speak to this, but it seems to me that he has stayed out of trouble since his release from Tennessee. His Wikipedia page (not that I put a lot of stock in that site) mentions that he passed 10 drug tests while at Tennessee Tech.

I'm not one who's expecting him to step in and lead the Colts to the Super Bowl, but everything I've read on him indicates he has the skills and ability to be an elite receiver if he can keep his attitude right.

Count me among those who are cautiously optimistic that can happen.

I'm amazed how many people spell his name RODGERS, not his actual name, ROGERS. Then again, some people don't know the difference between to/too, lose/loose, their/there. Our school system has failed us.

LOL Too true.  I have a friend that has this (below) in his signature...

** Your = possessive. As in "your grammar sucks"

You're = you are. As in you're an * for not knowing the difference"  **

Makes me laugh every time I see it. The Internet has made most all of us lazy, and tolerant to typos (especially when I'm texting from my phone) but those word exchanges still make my grind teeth just a little.  ;)

Hopefully Da'Rick has enough skills to produce as a receiver, and not just on ST's.

True. But Trent Richardson was unanimous 1st team All SEC selection and OPoY candidate that same year.  He's still struggling to find his niche and exploit his talents at the NFL level.  I'm hoping Rogers can do it quicker, and without his weaknesses or attitude interfering. But I am not heaping expectations on the guy.  But I hope for more than some others are producing.
