Nesjan3
This is all the same stuff we heard last season at this time. If you read carefully, it says Colts brass are "Confident" Luck will be ready. They don't know for sure, they are confident, which to me means they are hoping. Ill wait till the season gets underway to make any solid conclusions, especially after they gave us this exact dribble last year around this time and he didn't play a single game.
NDcolt
So let me get this straight, COME tc AL is miraculously supposed to all of a sudden throw a real FB for the first time in ages? Wouldn’t you want to slowly ease into throwing instead of going full bore w/ a flick of a switch? Doesn’t make sense.

Pitch and catch for a number of throws, take two days off, see how he feels, little more next time, etc. I just hope he plays a preseason game or two. That's why he needs to start throwing in June and work with the receivers before training camp to get the timing down. His first throws of real footballs shouldn't just be when training camp starts. He needs to start throwing game balls in June behind the scenes and then only then will they will know if he's full go at the start of training camp.IMO

Not before. Having him throw before he is ready will just put him behind schedule. I don't know when that time will be but me, you nor anyone else's opinion dictates of when he starts throwing.

The headline can be Luck throwing a football 60 yards for a TD in practice with the tittle luck 100% and back and they would still find a way to throw a fit. People have 0 faith and society needs that gratification of wanting results NOW or they move on! He tossed a football around once in the past 17 months. This whole thing is unprecedented...so I don't think you can chalk it up to people just wanting instant gratification at this point.

Most are not willing to let the rehab process work itself out. I have even read where some said he should start throwing at a certain time like they know better than the specialist do. Patience is the only way to deal with it. Making comments about if Luck don't do this or do that serves no purpose at this point. He will throw a football when he is ready and not before, What a fan wants will have no bearing on it.
chrisfarley
So on this magical day when he DOES throw a football, will it be televised? Will Jim Gray be there? I need to know because I'm going to invite friends over, but first I've got to go out and get party favors, a keg or two, chips and some more Orville Redenbacher popcorn.

My only point was the difference between this season and last. With that said I am not too happy that Luck didn't have the surgery done right after the injury happened. Who knows how much more damage was done by continuing to play?

I think so and think this is the big difference from last year. Here's the difference to me. Throwing (anything, including weighted balls) in rehab or strength conditioning program(s) is a lot different than throwing in a live practice (11 on 11) or game. In rehab/conditioning program, there is no pass rush, no defenders sticking up hands to block throwing lanes, nobody to move the QB off his spot. etc. The QB practices mechanics and footwork in a perfect static setting. In a practice or game, there is a pass rush, defenders trying to deflect passes, and it now becomes a very dynamic activity - totally different than throwing 'weighted' balls. Also, if they have changed Lucks mechanics while trying strengthen his shoulder, he may do it well in rehab but 'revert' back to old form under pressure. It's human nature. That is why I prefer to wait until he gets in some 11 on 11 and see how he fares then. Hopefully with excellence, though. And without any setbacks. 2

They teach a lot of shoulder strengthening exercises and movements. I expected him to go there after watching the video someone posted about the 30 year old high school coach, with a shattered elbow, throwing 90+ mph pitches after he developed a new training regime. Tom house incorporated this into his program. Deals with strengthening the rear shoulder motions that occur after release as much as the front ones used in throwing before release. Increases the overall strength, speed, control, and accuracy of the arm.

Old Colt
I would expect Luck with be limited at TC, not "Full Go". He is still not throwing and once he starts, i think they will bring him along slowly, just as they have been doing. Likely we will have to temper our expectations and just hope he is ready for the 1st real game.

Valpo2004
If he is ready on day 1 of camp it will be a good thing. There is going to be a lot of rust for him to shake off. So he's going to need all the practice sessions he can get. Hopefully him and his receivers put in some extra work on their timing too.
Dark Superman
I figured they wanted to wait until Training Camp to start the throwing process with Luck. Luck's been playing the sport and position nearly his entire life and doesn't need six months of throwing the ball to work out the kinks. If the shoulder is good and ready to go then a good six weeks or so he should be feeling like the Andrew Luck we had pre-2015.
