Depending on how significant the injury is, if it's nothing serious like nerve damage and he falls to to the 3rd or 4th because he might miss the whole year I say do it. Mayock said he's the best DB in this class and reminds him of Marcus Peter

He never want to get an any tackles. Does a good job jamming, but he looks pretty weak there to. Obviously he has the skills to mirror his guys, but he might be bullied big time by heftier recievers.

 

I wouldn't put him on my the opposing no 1 receiver till he hits the weight rooms and gets the cobwebs shook out.

 

But his coverage is pretty tight.

All the things he does, plus getting involved on tackles.

 

Look like a guy you don't have to worry about getting burnt....BUT, getting overpowered, that may be his weakness.

 

Its rare to have a player good at everything. That's what he isn't good at. HE has that Dion Sanders Syndrome, where he don't wanna get hurt so hes not tackling that RB if he doesn't have to.

When I evaluated him I didn't see any reason to worry about his strength or his tackling ability/effort. I don't expect CBs to be run stuffers...

Well, its not run stuffing, it a complete avoidance of the runner.

 

I saw him hit a guy on a busted flea flicker pretty square and knocked the ball loose.

 

But I saw about 5 times when there was a good chance the runner could break free or avoid a tackle by his teammate, he would literally stop and just look. LITERALLY. You can't do that in the NFL.

No chance in heck should we take him with our 2nd and I'd cringe if we took him with our 3rd. If our defense was better set, maybe ok with a 3rd but that's hard to swallow for a prospect who has a few question marks on top of his injury.

Wow I feel horrible for him. Hope he has insurance. He will be gone by the third. Look at Jaylon last year, and his injury had a possible finality to it, and Jones gambled and now the nerve will not refire. Achilles is worse than ACL, no doubt, but he is young.

Yeah that is tough on many levels.  Not only does he have to deal with the painful surgery and rehab, but he is no doubt going to fall out of the 1st round and likely lose millions to boot.  A tough tough deal for this talented kid.  It is however good for teams that could possibly get 1st round talent in the 2nd or 3rd round if they are willing to wait on him to heal.

Whether it's a torn Achilles or a torn knee ligament,  with 11 compensatory picks this year and the 3rd round going out all the way to pick 107,  it's hard to see Jones getting out of Day 2.      He should possibly go in the 2nd round,  but more than likely he goes in the 3rd round.

 

Really tough break for the kid.    Odds are he has insurance,  but the key is how much?     What he's going to need is a team that will be patient with him and won't expect him to play until 2018.

We will see soon enough I suppose where he is picked but Sidney is not on the same talent plane as Jaylon was predicted so I don't think he goes in the first 3 rounds but I could be wrong. I'd say late 4th or 5th round. There have been years where top round talents got injured and went undrafted before.
