I am racking my brain trying to think of a play designed any worse than that and I've got nothing off the top of my head.

That was beyond laughable bad into the "sad bad" territory. Right up there with Quinn Garay's sack of Manning in '10.

I'm afraid to go to sleep tonight for fear of having a nightmare about it.

Right call wrong play

Guessing Pep was thinking he could fool them because last game he motioned TY in the backfield but handed it to Bradshaw for a 20yard gain, guess the Texans saw that on film and decided motion TY in the backfield again then fake to Bradshaw and pitch to Hilton.

Definetly wouldn't had ran that for a 2pt conversion play though

As soon as we hand it off, the ball is out of our best players hands. 

 

If we convert that, it's a 7 point game, not 5. Much different.

I think there is an option for a "shovel" pass to Bradshaw on that play.  Had Luck utilized that option . . . the 2-point try would have been successful.

Reasonable idea, poor execution. I don't know if any of our RBs would be able to breach the line, Texans' run-D was MC. :-) Definitely not T.Y. should have tried to do it.

Right situational call, goofy play call but of course hindsight etc etc. If it comes off us we laud Pep as a Chip Kellyalike. 

 

I will say that as soon as you say TY line up in the backfield you know something funky involving him was coming which tipped the D IMO,

Idea good, Pep playcalling the worst with a flip back about the 7 from the 2  to TY. Bradshaw would have walked in.

I didn't like the call. 2 PT conversion isn't the place where you pitch it to the WR. Granted Hilton has the speed, but considering how their D was playing, I felt it was the wrong call. Should've been some play with Bradshaw since he seems to have a knack for getting into the endzone.

That's a play I think would be best saved for start of the game, to catch the D off guard or late in the game with a hefty lead, for experiment sake.

Not a crucial 2PC that could have easily been the deciding factor in the score.

The blocking definitely gave Bradshaw a clear lane to the end zone.....horrendous play.  I wasn't enamored with the decision to go for two, but if you are going to do it, don't be cute, just play smash mouth football or pass.

They call that play a lot...except they normally hand it off to Bradshaw lined up as the FB. So, I'm assuming the staff thought that Houston, having seen the film, would bite on Bradshaw and miss Hilton. Obviously it didn't work, but I don't think it was that awful of a play call.

The play was fine, it was just a bad read by Luck. Bradshaw would have scored on the handoff

This has turned into just another bash Pep thread. So Pep is so bad but yet he called the plays that scored 33 points on a really good defense? The Colts had 456 yards of offense but let's just bash him some more.

it did, but TY doesn't have the same skills as Harvin. and I'm not sure they would run it from the 3 yard line

Did you miss the part where I described it as a typically terrible call by the offensive coaching staff? I think that has a lot to do with the play calling on that play..

 

The rest of my post went on to outline how bad Hamilton is and that the Colts should have kept Arians.

 

It really isn't that hard to follow.
