Colts resign CB Darius Butler [Merge]

Recommended Posts

OK, good.  I wanted him back as a nickel or dime guy.  I'd still like to see if we can grab someone else, either through the draft or FA.  Doesn't have to be Asomugha, though I could see the benefit of that if the contract is structured right.  DRC is probably too expensive too, and I don't like Smith.

Worth taking a look at guys like Talib, Cox, and Williams though.

I have us grabbing

1. Mike Jenkins

2. Keenan Lewis

3. Talib

4. DRC

One of them will be a Colt. Pagano is a DB master..... if none of them, then probably the draft

Excited about that!! So do you guys think Toler is an upgrade over Powers? If so our cb situation is looking better. Now onto the safeties

Absolutely.

I'd prefer to have Toler over a LOT of the bigger name guys on the market.

    • It's not that their replacements are not good.   It's the depth behind the replacements.     Also. There isn't a 3T on this team better than Buckner.  To say so is nonsense
    • There comes a point where your depth isn’t that good when you lose this many players. We aren’t talking about losing one guy or two. If Paye can’t go we are talking about half of our starters and depth. Just because you replace them doesn’t mean they are any good.
    • A high ankle sprain, even if considered mild, is a different animal than the typical 'rolled' ankle sprain, and takes at least twice as long (or more) for recovery.   Though we don't know for certain yet, this is in the realm of possibility. Besides, it may be the same ankle where he's had prior history in 2022 as well as surgery in early 2023. Taking this into consideration, a multi-week absence could be an outcome for him in the short term. An improperly healed high ankle sprain has long term ramifications to consider, as well.
    • Yes, and I'm sure the Colts will field a full rotation of D lineman, with a few having to play more snaps than before,  The replacements will be as good as the linemen that won't play....Defo, Lewis, and Paye.  That's my opinion.
    • I thought Flacco did pretty dang good. It was nice seeing passes not go over our receivers heads. AR played pretty well in the short time he was in there but I still didn’t see anything that would tell us he’s fixed his accuracy on short/intermediate throws. That being said AR is the starter unless he plays his way out or gets injured again.
