I say Atlanta wins in a classic. This should be a great game.

34-24 Patriots win. Somewhat of a shootout but the difference will be a costly Turnover by Atlanta IMO that will result in a TD by the Pats. Game will be close and Pats will put it away with late TD.

Considering the Falcons beat the Seahawks and the Packers I think they will make it 3 previous winners in a row and beat the Patriots and win the SB.

I hope so but I am just not seeing it. Maybe it's because Atlanta hasn't been to a SB before with Matt Ryan. I may be underestimating them. I was wrong on the Championship games so I would enjoy this losing streak if it happens.

Whenever I make predictions, the other team seems to win. I am worse than Greeny  (Mike&Mike). So, I won't write down a prediction. But, I hope you're wrong.  Can you imagine another year of gloating by Pats fans!

I hope I am wrong too  I hate the Patriots but I think they will win. If Atlanta wins that would be refreshing and very different for the NFL.

Well the Pats are always favored but I remember when the Giants (with Eli Manning) beat the Pats both times they went to the SB so I am hoping that the Falcons can do the same. I'm not sure the Pats can stop Jones and if they do Matt Ryan has 12 other receivers. You can't double all of his weapons. Still pulling for the Falcons.

No doubt go Matty Ice! I think Eli like Peyton had the Manning factor when playing those guys. The Manning factor = Brady is 1-5 vs them in Big games. 1-3 against Peyton in Title Games, 0-2 vs Eli in SBs. The Giants also had a Great D.Line in both SBs that could pressure Brady. Falcons are going to have to put pressure on Brady to have a chance, otherwise in may be a long day.

I have it 34-24 Pats. I just think Brady wants #5 badly, Ryan 1st time in the SB will Turn it over once or twice, and the Falcons don't have the Defense to win this.

Well you might tell the Packers that because the Falcons scored 1st Q 10 points / 2nd Q 14  Packers 0 thru the half 3rd Q  13 pts falcons  / 4thQ 7 pts falcons  So I personally don't think the Falcons are hyped at all but playing good football at this time. I still think that the Falcons can pull this out but who knows. I think the Pats are over hyped. If the Texans had a decent QB the Patriots wouldn't have won that game and wouldn't even been going to the SB.  JMO

Not sure if you watched the Falcons v Pack game but the Packers stopped themselves twice in the first quarter alone. (Missed FG/fumble on the 2) the Falcons didn't stop the apack, the Pack stoped the Pack.

 

also SB is 2 weeks of nothing but hype and it wouldn't be shocking to see a team whose first appearance there being over hyped and just playing bad for a quarter. That's not an insult it's what happens a lot. The Pats and more importantly Brady been there and done that so it's no big deal.

 

i don't see the 27th scoring D stopping the 3rd rank scoring O. I thinkntheb#1 scoring D going have a hard time stopping the #1 scoring O but I like their chances a hell lot better to make a couple stops either by bad throws or confusing them get a TO.

Because the last two playoff games were supposed to close and hard fought and turned out to be one sided crushers I'll go with Atlanta by 14 and Brady will be intercepted twice.

Where's Eli when you need him?  As far as I've seen he's the only guy that's been able to take the Pats down in the Stupid Bowl.  Hopefully Matty Ice joins him, but I doubt it.  Pats 34-24.

I like the Falcons. Patriots take away what you do best, but the Falcons have played well when Julio hasn't had a big game. Mix that in with both their running backs. They're able to use them in the backfield and as a receiver. Look for Atlanta to spread them wide and take advantage of the linebacker mismatches. Falcons match up with the Patriots better than people think. I got the Falcons 31 Patriots 23. Falcons force a big turnover in the 1st half, giving them an extra possession to capitalize.

I'm trying to develop a healthy fear for the Falcons, but I'm stuck on the defenses.

 

I will acknowledge that the Pats #1 ranking and average 15 ppg allowed is overstated somewhat due to the competition level. So I'll state that up front - I don't think the Pats D is as good as the stats indicate.

 

But offensively, they are 3rd in the league compared to ATlanta's first...and if you don't include the first 4 games when Brady didn't play, the Pats move up to 2nd...scoring 32 points per game in Brady games compared to Atlanta's 34. And while the overall competition level for the Pats was weaker, they actually faced more competitive defenses than Atlanta did (Pats have played 8 games vs Top 12 defenses versus 5 for the falcons.

 

So my take is that you have essentially equivalent offenses...the Pats will be facing the 27th ranked defense in the league, allowing over 25 ppg on average. How are they going to stop the Pats?! On paper, this is hands down the weakest defense they've faced in this year's playoffs and probably in any of their other Superbowl appearances. And while the Pats defense is not likely as good as their #1 ranking, they are probably still a top 10 D in the league...not saying they'll shut Atlanta down, but I think they are more likely to come up with a stop than Atlanta will.

I really don't know who will win. I feel Atlanta has more talent on offense, but the Patriots are the Patriots, so it's a toss up; I can see either winning. 

 

Actually, maybe I'll give the slight advantage to the Pats due to experience; they have been here many times! 

 

But, of course, we know how that Super Bowl experience worked out for the Colts and Manning against Brees and the Saints.

Yeah,  and factor in the Patriots coaching advantage and you have to give the nod to the Pats. Their defenses usually tackle well and are very disciplined.
