Colts Vs. New York Giants Game Day Thread

Intentional grounding is like an intentional foul in basketball - they're intentional, except they're not. Lol

Did our teams switch jerseys or something?

Giants run D sucks, why didn't we run on the first drive?  Why do our receivers not catch?  Why go for a bomb on 3rd down?  Where is our defense?

It's early but this is not what I was expecting.

A dropped pass on the first possession, two dumb penalties on the second.  Can't play like that and expect to win.

Two drives we look like we are confused on offense out there, penalties and just poor execution. We gotta get that cleaned up but we need that defense to get with it already as well

We just have not come to play.  We don’t deserve the playoffs playing like %. The eagles are leading the Texans.

Today is the day to see if they learned anything from the jax game and to see how much they've actually grown.

Early yet.

If the team can’t get motivated by this game, then you’ve got the wrong guys on the roster.  Final home game, chance to clinch a winning record, and chance to play a win or go home game next weekend.

Not looking good, still early though.  Colts just have look unmotivated on both sides of the ball.

I think they thought this would be easier than it is.

We'll see if this team is playoff worthy. If they continue to play like crap today, then we'll have our answer soon enough.

    • Trey Burton? I guess... I do think he moves more like a TE than a WR. He's obviously very fast. But his body control, footwork, change of direction, hand/eye coordination, hand usage, hips, bend, etc., are not great. Just to be a good route runner, regardless of the matchup, he has to put in a lot of work and get a lot better. I could see him being used in a lot of ways, and he's a physical blocker on the outside.
    • It's from his profile for Morgan, so I dropped it in here...
    • ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports free agent Jadeveon Clowney is willing to sign a 1-2 year contract.    Clowney has already been forced to lower his asking price. Now he seems to be trending toward a one-year, "prove it" type deal. Fowler reports the Browns may have come the closest to signing Clowney to this point, but that nothing is imminent.  SOURCE: Jeremy Fowler on Twitter  Apr 9, 2020, 2:06 PM ET   I say we pull the trigger now.
    • Yes, I don't think all of them will get in by any means.     Nyheim Hines had 2 punt return TDs late last year and looked great in the role (I think Reich always envisioned him there, but he had some drops early on his rookie year and lost his chance until late last year).  He led the NFL in punt return TDs and was not our primary punt returner all year.  If he gets off to a start like he finished last year, he's got a shot at getting in.   If we start winning games and Rock Ya-Sin develops into a shutdown corner, fans will vote for him.  He's got one of the coolest names in football and I'm sure Berman and crew will come up with some catchy phrase around it to make him popular.   Mathis just said in an interview he believed Turay will be the NFL sack king within 1-2 years.  If that's the case, he's got a great shot.  Plus, also has a great name which helps with fan popularity.   I agree with you, it's highly unlikely Willis will make it to a probowl.  Also Walker.   If our pass rush improves significantly, I could see Hooker having a big INT year.   You are also right about the RB competition.  That said, if Mack puts up a monster year, which I think he can do behind this line, he certainly has a shot.  The fact that Brian Baldinger does a special on Big Q every week will help Mack, because the more people hear "Marlon Mack runs for big yards behind big Q" the more popular of a name his will become.
