Two games in a row at home to open the year?!?!?! Does the NFL realize this is the COLTS schedule? We almost always open the road and to get not one but TWO home games out of the gate. WOW!

That was my first reaction (after seeing the Broncos game). It's a miracle!

I'll play the schedule game too. I have 12-4

Raiders - W - 1-0

Dolphins - W - 2-0

@Niners - L - 2-1

Jags - W - 3-1

Seahawks - W - 4-1

@Chargers - L - 4-2

Broncos - L - 4-3

BYE - 4-3

@Texans - L - 4-4

Rams - W - 5-4

@Titans - W - 6-4

@Cardinals - W - 7-4

Titans - W - 8-4

@Bengals - W - 9-4

Texans - W - 10-4

@Chiefs - W - 11-4

Jags - W - 12-4

Looks good to me.

I have us losing 3 in a row, but winning 8 in a row.

So playing OAK week 1 is like when FBS teams schedule FCS teams right? I joke of course, but really that is a good game to start with.

You guys get to test out Matt Flynn and see if he should be a starter week one. Sounds like a nice match-up.

Let's get real. Chargers Colts on MNF will have the worst ratings for any MNF game this season. SF-Colts, and/or Hawks-Colts would have been much, much better, and would have had better ratings. The schedule makers BLEW it.

Monday night football never has bad ratings

I'm going to say 5-3 by the bye. and then 10-6 to end the season. Worst case scenario 9-7 wildcard? It's a pretty easy schedule really, but some of these "bad" teams made some pretty good changes this off-season and the draft hasn't even happened yet, so I'd put my predictions as pretty optimistic.

Some other notes:

1. I'm liking the week 8 bye.

2. I like that the most difficult stretch of our season is in the beginning. So if we can make it out of that stretch with .500 then I think we'll have a good feeling midseason if we'll likely be playoff bound.

3. 4 primetime games is pretty cool, but 3 of them are away. It's not that big of a deal, but I just like to see LOS go nuts on TV xD.

4. I usually go to 1-2 games a year, and this year Seattle, Denver, Houston seem like my favorites.

I think the NFL likes the Indianapolis Colts....

Two home games to start...

A bye week at week #8.

Four prime time games...

And we close with 3 of our last 5 at home.

All in all,  that's a very favorable schedule....

I'm a happy Colts fan!!      :thmup:     :thmup:

sombody up there likes us...NCF....That's a dream schedule.

WE can go 3-5 and stil be okay because we can go 7-1 in the second half..

Comparatively speaking, of course. Put the Seahawks and the Niners on there, and the ratings double. heck, Colts-Raiders would have better ratings on MNF than Colts-'chargeless' Chargers.

Colts-Raiders always put up great games. Even in the Manning era when the Colts were dominant and the Raiders weren't, they were close games.

I expect the same on Week 1.

According to NFLN voters on a per game basis the Texans will be 10-6(some of those games were close percentage wise; I think they will be lucky to get 9 wins) and the Colts will be 13-3.

I know it is too early to tell but I have a feeling... Colts will win the division with a helping hand from a favorable 2nd half schedule.

I think 12-4 is very possible. But...we'll see how things go. It's gonna be a whole new team come week 1.

    • And those are about the best signings the Colts have done under Ballard in 8 years.    Has Ballard even spent over $10+m once in a FA? Gilmore maybe? That’s once. In going on 8 years.    Noone does what Ballard does and he hasn’t had success doing it, so noone’s trying to replicate it.
    • For your consideration….   Nobody knew who Ebukam was when the Colts signed him week 2 last year.   And nobody knew who Denico Autry was when the Colts signed him in week 2.   “Who?” Was the most popular comment both times.  They turned out really well.      Im not sayin Ballard is going to do it again this year, it hasn’t happened every year, all I’m saying it’s happened from time to time so it’s still possible that CB will find a keeper that people here will like.
    • Could he do it?  Sure, but it is much tougher for him than most owners in the NFL.  The Colts just layed out $200 million this free agency.  I imagine over half in guaranteed money.  That’s a lot for Jim.
    • With all that said...
    • Spending doesn't mean you will win. You still need to spend smart and you still need to draft well and overall make good decisions.    Not spending limits you in your roster construction. I don't know why it's so hard for people to understand. The best teams in the league use ALL available avenues for improving their team. They do not limit themselves artificially with what's possible to achieve. They also concentrate resources into windows of contention. This means at any given time, if you are not spending you are competing against teams that are pouring resources into trying to win it RIGHT NOW. You will just always be at disadvantage because while 1 specific team will need to reload and take their lumps for spending too much in short period of time once in a while, the league as a whole will always have at least a few teams that are in that high spending mode chasing a window for contention.    Now... is it possible you strike gold and beat those teams while relying almost exclusively on the draft? It's possible. If you string together a few insane draft classes. But it's not very likely...
