The AFC looks like its setting up for....

....2 Teams.

Patriots & Steelers.

Neither team looks like their uber talented but they are 2 franchises that know how to win and the rest of the conference is taking turns staggering.

Buffalo losing its luster and its division stranglehold....  The historically unsuccessful teams in Ohio can't be counted on.... The Titans lost the most Dominant player in the league and I'm sure not expecting the chargers or raiders to go to the super bowl. And andy reid & Mahomes seem way off this year.

And the Brand of the Pat's and Steelers are certainly appealing to the networks, advertisers,  and the league.

Hope I'm wrong of course as I despise both franchises.

If I were to root for a non colt team it would be the Ravens, but after watching the dolphins beat them up I'm not too high on them either. haha

I wouldn't mind seeing the Patriots back in the Super Bowl. They are a different team now, and it would be kind of cool to see Mac Jones take them there.:hide:

Kinda the same... I'd rather then than Brady go back for 8..

But we shall see what happens I don't see the Steelers maintaining this.  And the pats still have a few hard games left

Titans, Bills, Chiefs, Patriots will probably be the last 4 standing, mainly because their defenses are coming along well with everyone having enough flaws in their offense, IMO.

Ravens will still win the AFC North while the Steelers, Raiders and Chargers will fade. Ravens got a taste of their own medicine with the blitz, see here:

Raiders and Browns in free fall, Pitt looked really bad as well in tie vs Detroit and barely beating the Bears. Bengals ? Plain ugly.  Chargers need to right their ship having lost  3 of 4 but have Pitt so should win this week.

I expect Buff,Balt,Tenn and KC   but Chargers could catch KC and already beat them, Buff could be passed by Pats.

7 AFC playoff teams....Buff,NE,Balt,Tenn,Indy,KC and Chargers.

Joey Bosa was a close contact for covid but he will play as long as he keeps testing negative.Tillery is the one who tested positive. We will see how this effects Chargers.

Steelers have a lot of covid stuff going on. If Big Ben doesn’t play Sunday they very well could lose. But that game doesn’t matter who wins or loses.

Patriots will win that division

Colts need that tie breaker over the Bills.

Right now colts need Chargers. Raiders and Steelers and Bengals to keep faltering. Good news is colts will get help this weekend with 2 teams because 4 of these teams play each other.

Colts control their playoff destiny. Just need to get it done. Would  make hard knocks really good rest of season.

Pats still have to play Bills twice.

That's 2 very likely wins for the Pat's.

The question for Bill's fans is which wild card seed will they fall to unless they completely fall out of the playoffs.

I think they lose to the colts which will give them 4 losses. They could lose all 3 against Pat's twice and brady....that's potentially 7 losses and a 10-7 record which I think will be good enough for a spot. Another loss somewhere could give them a 9-8 record which I think is doubtful for a spot.

This coming game vs the colts is a huge game for them with the Patriots twice and bucs still left on schedule.

I don’t know. Pats really haven’t beaten anyone yet. Haven’t beat a good offense either. Pats just don’t score that many points. I don’t count blowing out bad  teams.

Zak Keefer said colts will know next week when far pats game will be played.

What's there to know??

Their history is there for the last 2 decades minus last year.

Does their talent level seem below other teams?......yeah

Does their offense look pedestrian?.....yeah

But their team often lacking hasn't usually kept them from succeeding in the past and they still have Kraft, McDaniels and most of all Belichek.

On GMF, which I usually don't watch much(too many props, lol) I caught them saying that not only they may be back but may Dominant the AFC for the next decade. :wall:

I could change my mind after they play colts and bills. It’s just a gut feeling right now. Pats do look a lot like when Brady was a rookie. I just need to see if they can hang with good offensive teams before I say they are definitely good.  Also before we say Max looks like Brady I need to see growth next couple of years. Eventually Brady could make big plays. Just still out whether Jones can.

The best offensive team they played at home was when the Cowboys were healthy and rolling, and they took them to OT despite Mac Jones throwing a pick six in regulation. Lost 29-35. Mac Jones is very good on short and intermediate routes, we need to force them to throw beyond 20 yards consistently where his numbers are lower, that is how we stay in the game and on our end, don't turn the ball over as an offense like the Titans game at home when the game is close. That is what the Patriots thrive on, good field position due to turnovers.

Wow - really?  Since the majority of every roster is turned over every 4 to 5 years that is really a stretch.  Yes - they might have found their QB, but just too many more variables to ever say a team may dominate for the next decade.

The Steelers really looking bad. Like they are old and stuck in quick sand.

Their lack of talent may have forced the Football Gods  abandon them this year lol. We'll see if they can turn it around but not looking good for them and Big Ben.

But the Pat's are looking like the Pat's of old.....dinking and dunking, it's like brady never left. :D

It will be hard for any AFC team to get by them.

NE is winning by an average of 35 points while giving up 10 per game. Put a team up against them and man for man does not count because of the head coaches. We could be looking at an unknown number of years of another Patriot domination of the AFC.

Honestly, it's true. Mac Jones is only going to get better, and he has a defense that can allow him to make mistakes and not feel too much of the consequences.

With all of the media hyping of mobile QBs, and dispensing such kool aid to the fans, I'd like to see NE and rookie Mac Jones win the SB if it isn't the Colts.

Yeah, no, I'm still not past the suffering of the last 20 years, they can still go 3-14 every year for as long as I live.

You are right on. Whoever wrote that hasn’t been around Patriot or Red Sox fans too much. If they were, they wouldn’t want NE to win for another 100 years.

I root for teams down the stretch that can help us get into the playoffs. I hate the Patriots and Steelers but if I needed one of them to win (beat a certain team) for us to make the playoffs then I would be forced to put my Darth mask on or wave a Terrible Towel for 1 week.

I get your point except for the terrible towel !

    • I still think we can do better on Edge Rusher and coverage LB (Maybe we can try Cross here, I think he can be great).   Another CB, this year proved that you cannot have enough CBs.   I also think a great WR or TE would help, but to find better talent that we already have would be a Top 5 pick that we would not have or spend like crazy that we dont do also.
    • I did another mock, just seeing what options we have at our current position.  I have addressed 3 of the issues I think Colts need help.  Edge, WR, OL.  Let me know what you think.   22. Laiatu Latu, EDGE UCLA Height: 6 - 4 | Weight: 265 | RAS: N/A A highly productive and versatile pass rusher who can be effective as a pure edge and as a delayed blitzer, Laiatu Latu has started 2023 with style. He's shown off improved power at the point of attack, opening room to use his deep array of pass-rush moves. While I was concerned with Latu's speed entering the season, he's looking a little quicker and more refined as a pass rusher thus far.   56. Cooper Beebe, OG Kansas State Height: 6 - 4 | Weight: 322 | RAS: N/A Arguably the top guard in the 2024 class, Cooper Beebe has a real chance to land in the first round. Beebe is excellent in pass protection thanks to a strong base and consistently well-placed hands inside the chest of the defender's frame. His athleticism is good enough to be routinely featured on pulls, and he effectively landmarks on the second layer of defenses. Though Beebe isn't an elite athlete, his strength and activity level project to become a very good NFL starter early in his career.    87. T'Vondre Sweat, DT Texas Height: 6 - 4 | Weight: 346 | RAS: N/A A mammoth at 6'4" and 346 pounds, T'Vondre Sweat is a force to be reckoned with in the middle of the Texas defense. He makes everything else possible for his teammates, holding up extremely well at the point of attack, even against double teams. He's a big part of the reason the Longhorns had such a massively improved front seven in 2022. Sweat's stats aren't impressive due to his role, as he's amassed only 53 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks in four seasons. His burst off the line hasn't been quite good enough to create his own sack opportunities. If that changes, Sweat could push to be the next Dontari Poe and lock in a top-50 grade.   118. Will Sheppard, WR Vanderbilt Height: 6 - 3 | Weight: 198 | RAS: N/A Inspector Gadget Length Very good inside and outside-shoulder tracking Great finishing rate on back-shoulder throws Strong, competitive hands that fight through contact at the catch point.   152. Francisco Mauigoa, LB Miami (FL) 183. Carson Steele, RB UCLA Height: 6 - 1 | Weight: 216 | RAS: N/A We don’t often see running backs like Steele. He’s crafty, strong, can take a hit, and keep moving. He has some short-area burst and agility, but he’s also mastered the nuance of being a running back. The question is how athletic he is compared to starting NFL backs. He’ll have an NFL role because he continues chugging ahead, and his large frame bodes well for his ability to play all three downs.   214. Elijah Jones, CB Boston College
    • Why would fans need to be concerned? Did I miss a letter from Ballard or something? Are we playing Sunday?   Gotta trust in the process and believe. I don’t see Steichen overlooking the Bengals.    As a Bengals fan, I’ve seen this team do this stuff before. They get very hot and then very cold. They are a week to week kind of team. Last week for example they lost 16-10 against the Steelers.    Could we lose? Absolutely. It’s any given Sunday. And when you’ve got back up QBs all over the place across the league, all bets are off.    But I think the Colts will do enough to win.
    • You know. That’s a dang good analogy.     I’m not the biggest Pittman fan as I feel he disappears a lot but it does appear he is trying to find a groove. I’m okay with paying him “elite” money IF and I mean IF, it’s heavily incentivized or gives us a clean out in two years, maybe three
