Early weather forecast for titans game

That is not exactly true. Running on the imitation turf in LOS is a lot different then running on real grass. Players have even mentioned that is one of the fastest turfs to run on. Also rain tends to make speed players more timid to run full speed due to bad footing and not wanting to pull something.

The forecast is calling for rain Thursday and nothing Friday or Saturday. Then chance of showers Sunday. I can't field conditions being that bad if these forecast hold up.

Just saying don't make a mountain out of a molehill.

I don't think anyone is doing that.   We are just stating that we feel a rain-soaked muddy field is to the Titans advantage since they rely on a power run game more than the Colts do.   I think a higher scoring game is to the advantage of the Colts.   Rainy games are lower scoring.

My response was to specific post about turf vs grass, not a muddy field.  That why I quoted him.

and I'm not convinced it gives them an advantage. They rely on the running game more because they have to....their quarterbacks are mediocre.  If conditions are poor the colts can utilize the run game and dink and dunk and they should be fine.

Probably.   I think the Colts would still be the favorites.    But it is a fact that rainy games are lower scoring.   I think the Colts have an advantage in a higher scoring game because they have the better QB.   Rain would even the playing field a little bit.

I don't understand that.  Why against the Colts?

Would it only be raining on their side of the field?

They are going to have 1 of the 4 horsemen do a magic trick to keep the rain only on the Colts side of the field. :)

They should be fine if the weather is crappy or lose on purpose to miss the playoffs because odds are we're going to have to go to places like ne, KC, balt in January etc if we want a SB.

Makes sense........

Andrew is not a bad weather qb.

Who is a "bad weather QB" and why?

Tom Brady?  Because he hands the ball off and lets his defense win the game?

If the Colts run the ball well and play good defense to win a bad-weather playoff game, all of a sudden Andrew Luck is a good "bad weather QB" ???

Wouldn't that just mean Luck plays on a good "bad weather team" since bad weather kind of negates the QB and passing game altogether? ...

I don’t think bad weather will benefit either team. If they play Mariota, he’s going to have numb fingers and he’ll have to handle a slippery ball. And handing it off to Henry 50 times a game is going to play right into our strengths as a defense.

Their fans sure think it’ll benefit them though. Guess we’ll wait and see.

As someone else said here it isn't going to rain just on the Colts' side of the field.  They may have a decent RB, but the Colts have been decent at stopping it.  Barkley and Elliott didn't hurt them much the last couple of weeks.  I don't think Henry is any better.  And I'd take the Colts' passing game all day over the Titans.  Both defenses have been playing well.  Should be a good matchup regardless of weather.

Brady, Rodgers, Wilson, Ben, Foles, Flacco in the past. You know, qbs who are use to playing in crappy weather in December and January. Not qbs who have to leave their cozy dome. I think Drew Brees and Matt Ryan are lousy bad weather qbs. Andrew's ball looks a lot more feathery outside. I don't see the same zip as when he's playing in the dome. I hope I'm wrong.

Wasn't that the same thing said when the Colts played in rain during the super bowl?

The weather favors the Bears because they are an outdoor team.

I think too much is put into the weather. Both teams have to play on the same field at the same time.

What a pile of...

DentalAromaticBergerpicard-size_restrict

EVERY QB throws a better looking pass in a dome where there is no wind to affect it.  By your logic Brady and all the rest are amazing dome QBs as well, especially Rodgers and his numerous Hail Mary throws in domes...

What difference does it make if a QB is "used" to playing outside in the winter?  Would that have helped any QB in that snow-game last year in Buffalo?  No.  No QB was going to throw pretty passes for 400 yds and 4 TDs in a foot of snow and 15 mph winds...

"Bad Weather QB"  =  A Myth

You just make crap up.

I am 100% sure you are not able to tell a Luck indoor pass vs. a pass from a cold weather game.

I do give you credit here - you normally just create a trolling thread and leave it without return.  This time at least you defended a position.  A horrible take to defend but hey, it's a start.

Looking like a rainy 4th quarter in the makings tomorrow... Good for us when they have to pass playing behind!

Like I said, we have to stay balanced on O, play good D and stay patient on O. The rain might make it low scoring at best.

Maybe it will be Colts 23 Titans 17, not good for the faint of heart for fans on both sides but hey, a W is all we Colts fans care about.
