What Position will Henry Anderson Play?

I know in college he played as a Tweener DE/DT in a 4-3 defense. At 6'6 290lbs he is built like an OLB. Where does he fit in our Defense? do you think he plays OLB or DE? i honestly think he is versatile enough to play both kinda like McPhee did in Baltimore. Cant wait to see him in action.

I'm pretty sure he was a 3-4 DE. Every site I've gone too (bleacher report, cbssports, etc...) says he was a 3-4 DE in college and will fit well there on the Colts. So I'd be surprised if he played anything else.

OLB? You can't be serious! Since when do teams play with a 290 pound OLB? He's a DE for sure, and will be the best pass rushing DL Indy has.

Reference the comparison to Pernell McPhee. He played both OLB and DE for the Ravens he is 6'3 285 lbs., Also whose to say he cant drop a few pounds. it is possible.

It's my understanding that RJF was at the 5-tech.     The defensive end.     That's where Anderson goes.

 

Redding was more a DT than a DE.     

 

Langford will replace him.      Jones will be....    everywhere.....

He's just about the exact same size as JJ Watt. He's not built like an OLB at all. He'll be at 3-4 DE without a doubt.

He was a DE that played DT/NT in sub packages. It'll probably be exactly the same way here. There is no chance he'll be a linebacker.

That's exactly what I thought. I thought he reminded me of Werner too. They both aren't very explosive. I think he'll be average, but I think D'joun Smith, Clayton Geathers, and Phillip Dorsett will all be beasts.

I'm looking forward to Langford-Anderson combo a lot. IMO it's an insane upgrade over Redding-Francois.

 

All good stuff aside, I'm very apathetic about the latter; IMO they were the weak links on defense, notably the run defense. We were constantly playing 10 on 11.

He's a 3-4 DE, and that's where he's going to play with us opposite Jones. Anderson is going to be absolutely amazing. In a couple years I think he'll be one of the best 3-4 ends in the NFL. I like to compare him to Justin Smith btw, and not just because he's a white DE lol. Also it wouldn't surprise me if by the end of the season we move Jones to the nose and go with Anderson-Jones-Langford to have our best 3 on the field together.
