stonehart1234
Do you think the colts would have the best starting LB's in the league when healthy. If we were healthy I think we would be the best by far.I say that because we have 2 QB killing machines on the out side(when healthy) with Freeney and Mathis and 2 great wrap up tacklers in pat and freemen.http://www.youtube.com/#/watch?v=YnNCoJ4lhEU Thoughts? Captain Americolt
Willis and Bowman are far better. To think we missed out on Bowman in the draft... I'm happy with Pat though.
Mouthfire
Just off the top of my head, San Fran has a better LB corp than us.

John Dee
Freeman, KC, and Angerer are very good .... Are they game changers? Lets see them take a few snaps together.... I do like them tho...
HtownColt
Not at all.. 49ers Ahmad Brooks, Willis, Bowman, Aldan Smith. Steelers: Harrisson, Woodley, Timmons, foote. Bears: Urlacher Briggs and Roach, Cowboys: Sean Lee, Ware, Spencer. Packers: Hawk, Mathews, Bishop. Jaguars: Daryl Smith, Posulusky Dolphins: Dansby, Misi, Wake Patroits: Mayo, Spikes, Nicovich Panthers(when healthy): Beason and Anderson. Granted when you put Mathis and Freeney as LBs along with Angerer and freeman we would be like 11th or something around there which is pretty solid
coltsguy510
If we draft Te'o or Jarvis Jones, than maybe in a few years we will.
ColtsLegacy
Yep, and we also have the best WRs, TEs, DL, OL, DBs, QB, and RBs. I'm not sure how we ever lose.
coltsfanatic24
the 49ers might have the best lb duo ever let alone this year.

Freenyfan102
Yeah the Colts just have to pic this guy up in the draft our LB is the weakest part of our defense right now.
Indyfan4life
Yeah the Colts just have to pic this guy up in the draft our LB is the weakest part of our defense right now.Pretty sure our weakest spot is still CB and D-Line.
Freenyfan102
Nope it the LB core Freeny more then likely not going to be back next year. I really hope they don't resign him to he not made to be in a 3-4 package.

Holden89
....What? People really think we have the LB corp in the NFL? Really? Bears, Cowboys (if we're talking all guys being healthy), 49ers, Patriots, Seattle, and the Steelers are all by far better than ours. That's just off the top of my head.Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty pleased with our LB's, just...let's not get ahead of ourselves. Freeney, Mathis, and Hughes are still question marks as 3-4 OLB's, Pat Angerer was a solid Cover 2 MLB, Kavell Conner is pretty good at stuffing the run, and Freeman has shown promise, but is still a rookie. Let's just ease up a bit.I don't think our team has the best ANYTHING, at this point.
TKnight24
I wouldn't say the BEST. But they get the Job done, & that's all that really matters to me. gbrads_rants
Angerer shouldnt be starting.....but once we have someone competing for Freeney's spot we should be impressive. I WILL say we have the Deepest LB Corps in the league most definitely
Tark The Shark
49ers have the best LB corps in the league hands down.I say we may have one of the better corps in the AFC, at least on paper.Although really Freeman & Mathis have been the only ones to really contribute. So in reality, we have a serviceable stable of LBs.

lollygagger8
Freeman is beast, but that's it. I don't think Angerer has been very good since he came back.
SteelCityColt
Do we even have the best corp in the division let alone the league?Matthis has show he can adjust, Freeney not so much and Hughes has been a bit flattering to deceive. Inside Freeman has been a small revelation, Conner solid but not stand out, and Angerer hasn't made the impact I would have expected since he came back to action but is still decent in my eyes. Certainly we're strong but as pointed out the 49ers set the bar, and I've seen a fair few of their games this season. They are out of this world. krunk
No I do not think we have one of the best sets of linebackers in the league. I could see a scenario where Angerer and Conner are gone next year. Freeney will almost certainly be gone. Freeney has flashed at times, and has certainly been disruptive against the pass, but so so against the run. I think Mathis and Freeman have done well so far. I think 2 out of the 4 will still be here next year. You can maybe add Fokou as a third that is worth keeping.I think the linebacking corps needs to be improved some. SteelCityColt
On a small side note wasn't Jim a LB in his younger days? I do think we need to improve the LBers with an OLB who is more of an all rounder then flat out pass rusher. A beast at MLB is a must as well but then that's very easy to say and to be fair Freeman has stepped up this year.
throwing BBZ
Angerer is too slow to play in this D and Freeney is Definitely a below average pass rusher now. You are a Dreamer.
Playmaker
49ers do, Aldon Smith may break Strahan sack record this year. Willis, Bowman and Brooks are all beast too.
Dark Superman
Jerrell and Angerer don't play at the same time..mod they?
JoKeR
Freeman is 1 of the best, Mathis is still a top 10 rusher but that doesn't equate to the best LBer squad in the league, IMO.
Slick_Rick
I think we are serviceable. Not game changers yet. Jerrell Freeman has been a great surprise. I think we need to get another couple 3-4 style pass rushers. Mathis has done well, and Freeney really hasn't been bad, but they are getting up there and with a young middle corps, it would be great to see a new group grow up in the league together. I view a LB corps much like the o-line chemistry is very important.
