...that the Colts only make the playoffs every year because they play in the AFC South I'm going to SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had already typed up a long post but it got erased due to my session timing out, so this will be short:

The 2012 Colts were one of only four teams to win at least 11 games.  They had wins over playoff-bound Minnesota, Green Bay and Houston.  No non-playoff-bound team had more than 8 wins.  Clearly the 2012 Colts make the playoffs as a wildcard in ANY division.

The 2013 Colts had wins over Seattle, SF and Denver, all teams that advanced to their respective championship games.  The only team with a losing record they lost to was the 7-9 Rams.  They EASILY make the playoffs as a wild card in the AFC East which had only one team with a winning record.  They EASILY make the playoffs in the AFC North as a wildcard and, despite their regular-season loss to Cincinnati, contend for the division championship.  Winning the AFC West would have really been a struggle but they did go 3-1 against the AFC West so it's not out of the question.

The 2014 Colts, in all honesty, probably don't make the playoffs if they switch schedules with KC or SD, and would struggle to make the playoffs if they switched schedules with Denver.  But if they switch schedules with NE they probably still win the AFC East.  Buffalo actually had a pretty tough schedule - Colts struggle to qualify for a wildcard in that case.

The AFC North, not the AFC South, had the easiest schedule in football.  Look at Pittsburgh's schedule in 2014 - the 2014 Colts probably go 14-2 with their schedule.  The best team the Steelers had to play was the Colts!  The best team Baltimore and Cleveland had to play was Pittsburgh!  Cincy had to play NE and Denver due to their being defending division champs, plus Pitt, and that's all.  Switch schedules with any AFC North team and the Colts make the playoffs EASILY and possibly even contend for the AFC North title.

So clearly, "The Colts wouldn't make the playoffs in any other division" is nonsense.

In 2013 you also forgot a win over KC in Kansas City.

And the Chiefs made the playoffs, because that's where we beat them in LOS in the 2nd greatest comeback of playoff history.

As for you hearing that comment....   better get used to it....   until our division gets much better Colts' fans are going to continue to hear it.....    it comes with the territory....

You guys DO play 6 easy games every year from playing a terrible god awful division.

Be thankful for it. Everyone else wishes they could beat up on Jax, Houston, and Tennessee twice a year.

I said it, cause so what? People on the internet bother you that bad, then don't get on the internet and read forums.

I'll defend him. He never said the Saints play in a better division. He just said to enjoy the gift of ours. He knows we've been taken better advantage of it than the Saints have with theirs.

In this case it leans a lot more toward being a fact than an opinion.

Teams get 'ramped up' to play division teams, and on any Sunday the best team in the NFL can be beaten by one of the worst teams.

I am not sure Houston is laying over and dying...they are going to beat some folks.

It always goes in a circle. For years, the Seahawks, Rams, Niners, and Cardinals were a joke. Now you can argue that the NFC West is the toughest division. Just a short while ago, the AFC South was known as the toughest division with the Colts (Manning), Jaguars (Gerrard & MJD) and Titans (Jeff Fisher) all finishing with winning records.

Let's also not forget that most divisions have bottom dwellers, and 1 or 2 good teams. With the Colts and Texans both finishing with winning records, the AFC South is no different. (The Texans finished 12-4 in 2012 and won the division). Currently, the titans and Jaguars are the bottom dwellers. This is no different than the Steelers getting to play the Bengals and Browns every year when those teams stunk.

Takes mental note for when everyone inevitably says something about the Patriots having the easiest schedule in football and play in the QBless AFC East. If you don't come prepared to win each and every sunday...any team will take you to the woodshed. Look at how pathetic KC was last year and they beat BOTH SB teams. I'm not here to say the AFC South is as tough as any other conference but divisional teams always play each other tough because they know them so well and the hatred of facing each other twice a year. The great thing about football is the parity....every team goes through this cycle of ups and downs....and even though they may not be strong last year doesn't mean they won't get better this year.....unless they are Cleveland.

This is like a poll asking the wrong questions. In any other division we likely don`t win 10 games in any of the last 3 seasons.

In 2012, if you watched, we came from behind in the 4th quarter in what 9 games, after playing bad football for much of 3 quarters, against bad teams who found ways to lose. We were a 5ish win team that somehow won 11 games.

Having to watch all of that bad football (Satelle/McGlynn and i won`t go on), i still enjoyed the winning a great deal, and us playing the Ravens in Baltimore in the Playoffs was one of my all-time favorite Colt moments.

Take away that Pathetic forced pass attempt to Reggie at the goal line.

The ONLY way we were so successful in 2013 was our Excellent penalty and turnover grades. Great attributes, but we were not playing that good (11 win type)  of football otherwise. ONLY in the AFC South.

2014 we were pretty decent. For those who give credit to our making the AFC Championship game. We certainly might have beaten Cin if they had their Offensive weapons and LB`ers, without them it was a gimme game.

And Manning was so terrible Denver had No Hope of outscoring us, another gimme game.

On the contrary Texans arent a Slouch team they have been steadily improving. Their lack of a solid QB is what hindered them.

No there not a slouch team its just the Colts are always better & there like a lil bro no matter how hard they try the big bro just proves they are the best until they win in Indy they will continue to have a monkey on there back .

The Colts are & have always been the best the AFC  South has to offer we lost what 3 seasons .

They need a solid QB & the National Guard ...

Don't worry, Texans will have a say so this year. And the Jags will win around 6-8 games. Only weak team will be the Titans, especially if they take Mariota like Ken Whisenhunt is saying they will if the Bucs take Winston

The Texans have a say every year & they continue to build a team that can beat the Colts but at the end of the day having a say will not be good enough ,

The only reason they have had the success they'v enjoyed the last 2 years is because Peyton Manning was injured & then we started a rookie & they just did win the south .

Luck & this team are still improving & the Texans well there window of opportunity has already passed first 18 dominated now 12 will .    No matter the season the end result will be the same .

GO COLTS  ..

Don't believe their window passed at all. Blew a 24-0 lead on them and ended in a close game and then the rematch was much closer. All of this is without a QB remember that

Add Wilfork & a healthy Clowney to go with JJ Watt and that's a problem

They get a decent QB, AFC South is no longer a cakewalk

They had QB's they just sucked .  The last 2 seasons Clowney has had injury issues as a junior in college he was great since then a paper tiger meow  & Wilfork well he's not Suh we'll just have to see if he has anything left in the tank ..

Everyone brings there A game when they play the Colts regardless of records there have been some very tough games in our division , When you can't run or stop the run that is not exactly the recipe for a cakewalk IMO ..

On paper they look great & J.J Watt has proved to be a handful a 1 man wrecking crew yet they are still second best in the AFC South .

Both teams have improved  every year we will see what we see, at the end of the day an improved Colts defense with a Colts offense led by Andrew Luck  will be to much for the Texans . Always a bridesmaid never a bride .. haha

People aren't wrong though. The Colts play in the weakest division in football. That's why Pagano and Grigson get so much heat.

I'm any other division we'd be going 6-10 or 7-9 in a stronger division. It's obviously not our fault the teams in our division are terrible, but we do at least take advantage of it. Could you imagine the backlash if we played on the AFC South and didn't make the playoffs yearly?

Did you even read my original post?  6-10 in a stronger division like the AFC North against whom the Colts went 3-1?  6-10 in the NFC South?  6-10 in the NFC East against which they went 2-2?  They seriously would win only 6 games with NE's schedule or even Buffalo's, Miami's or NYJ's?

Do you think before you post or do you just troll?

I think in 2014 the Colts would not have made the Playoffs if they played in just about any other division except maybe the NFC south.  But so what, the Colts can't control that... all they can do is play the teams on their schedule.  They got hot at the right time and proved they had as much right as any team to be in the playoffs.

I don't know if I could really say that.  The Colts went 3-1 against the AFC North and outside of Pittsburgh I don't see a team in that division that Indy couldn't beat two times in a row other than maybe Pittsburgh.  I think people who don't follow the team as much are not giving the Colts as much due as they should.  I think Indy would still be a playoff team no matter where you put them.  I don't buy the hype.

We are looking at the Bengals go to the playoffs almost every year in a Division that is supposed to be so called "tough", and then we are going to sit up and say the Colts would be 6-10?  News Flash! The Colts have proven they are better than the Bengals.  I don't believe if you move the Colts it makes much of a difference.

I agree with that with one exception...As long as neither Seattle with that smothering defense or San Diego led by QB Philip Rivers never played in the same division along with the Colts krunk.

If you could pick whoever your division foes were, I have no desire to face the Seahawks or Chargers twice a year. I like facing NE or even Rex Ryan as a adversary, but I don't fear them like I do with the Pacific NW or #17 in California.

Even if we were I think the team would be built a little differently to deal with what's in the Division.    We'd make whatever changes we had to make and we'd come to the table ready to fight.  Indy is no slouch franchise.  I think the biggest difference would be the playoff race within the division would be tighter instead of us being a good ways ahead of the opponents like we are in the South.

Also I see the South getting stronger within the next 2 to 3 years.  I still put my money on Indy even when that happens.

Yeah, INDY has been pretty dominant in the AFC South & the Texans have really been are only legitimate AFC South foe for years. I'm curious to see what new Titans DC Dick Lebeau does & how quickly he turns that defense around though. Man, it's strange to think of Dick not patrolling the sidelines in Pittsburgh since he's been in that city forever.

I think Jacksonville finally found their franchise QB in Blake Bortles, but just like always this division comes down to INDY vs Houston. The black & blue division will return to familiar form soon I agree 100%

Pretty soon it's going to be Indy, Houston, and Jacksonville.  If Houston doesn't hurry up and get a quarterback they are going to get surprised by Jacksonville.  Honestly I think Jacksonville may give Houston a little trouble this year.  They already have a ton of money to improve the team with, plus there is the draft.  Tennessee is still a ways off until they get a quarterback and make more additions to the defense.
