Why don't we have a good offensive and defensive line?

I personally thought the D-Line played pretty good it was the LBs where we had problems. The D-Line could have gotten after the QB more, but I liked them vs. the run. The O-Line though was pretty poor throughout the game.

Grigson is not a good GM. He drafted Werner over Rhodes when most Colts fans knew that Rhodes was the better player. He also drafted Dorsett over Collins and many other impactful players.

We have never have had a d-line thank you Grigs you did great building one when you knew we had to have one. Why is it we can never have a defense that is worth anything. The whole Manning era it was the same thing.

D-line was great...MLB's were bad.

 

O-line did fine also considering the how many times Luck was blitzed.  We ran the ball well-those few times we did run-, completely baffled why we went one dimentional  so early in the game when it was still scoreless....

The defensive line was absolutely fine today.  I'd even argue that the DL played well, especially with 3 new starters (2 being rookies).  Henry Anderson and Parry both got penetration and pursued the ball like crazy.  Love their motors and athleticism. 

 

The ILB play was borderline atrocious.  Freeman was over-flowing to the ball instead of controlling his gaps.

 

ILBs also missed a lot of tackles, took poor angles, etc.

 

OLBs did okay.  Colts were only out-flanked around the edges a few times but that's Shady's specialty.

Our defensive line played well.Occupied blockers and made plays.  Freeman overplays too much. He has to get better at reading and diagnosing plays.

Jackson and Freeman aren't starting ILB's on most teams. Neither can cover and both are inconsistent in the run game. This team desperately needs two ILB's, O,Line, and a CB that can stay healthy.

D-line-MIssed tackles.  Couldn't finish off the pressure to sack the QB....he'd slip out of the pocket.

 

O-line-tough one.  Louis was extremely inconsistent, leaning over to the side of being really bad today.  I think it's blocking scheme also.

DL is good today IMO, ILBs were a huge problem.

 

I'd be tickled pink to see a Jamie Collins type on this team.

imo that is because their head coach is also their gm, the rest of the league should have learned by now, you cant have 2 guys making player decisions, it equals bad players on the team, I blame irsay, for not hiring a talent who could do both

I think they have something on the dline I just think it's going to take a little while to come completely together.

Oline is what we thought they were. Decent at best.

Need some top tier linebackers. They come in the draft , we just have to keep working at it. Freeman and Jackson are just a liability at this point. I used to love freeman in 2013 but he is not the guy at this point.

D Line was playing very good until they got gassed they can only keep going so long when the O has a few quick possessions back to back .

This is a Madden team.  Great QB and fast WRs on offense.  Shutdown CB and edge rushers on defense.  Accurate kicker and Boomstick punter on special teams.

 

When a Madden team goes against a traditional bully, we see what we saw today.  We used to see it when the Manning Madden teams had to play the Steelers, Ravens, or Pats.
