Colts Vs Bills Game #1 Predictions And What You Want To See Thread

I say the colts win 31-17. The Bills D will keep it close but then a Frank Gore TD late in the 4th seals it.

I want to see how the O-line holds up against a powerful front 7

I want to see how much different our front 7 will be like. This will be interesting to watch...

If Mathis plays I want to see how he looks

I want to see our pass rush have a good game, Taylor can be elusive so we must contain when we can.

And obviously no injuries! Go colts!

I want to see the full power of this passing game; in particular, I want to see what AJ can do with #12 tossing the rock. #2 I hope to see something flashy from Dorsett and #3 I also want to see how much progress Moncrief has made making the leap from year one to year two. We pretty much know what we have in Fleener,Allen, and TY.

This team is only going to be as good as it's air assault.

I want to see our WR corps in full strength.

I want to see if the DL looks good and can keep up with Shady.

I want to see how the OL plays.

I want a win. I don't care if it's a speak it out tune up game or if it's a game where we look like we're in mid-season form, I want a win.

But overall, no matter what outcome I'll be out their screaming wildly in the crowd.

I think we'll handle this game pretty easily.  Buffalo has a top notch defense, but they should struggle mightily on offense, especially if McCoy is out or banged up.

I'd like to see the offense get off to fast starts this year.  I know Luck has shown great ability to win in comebacks, but I think for us to really be successful in the post-season we need to figure out how to start fast.

Our defense, IMO, is much better suited against the pass than the run.  With Mathis, Newsome, and Cole as pass-rushing specialists and with Walden showing some blitzing ability in pre-season and if Manusky continues to get creative in sending blitzes, we should be able to pressure most QBs.  If we can get off to early leads and force the other team to drop back and pass, our defense can be very disruptive.

If our offense starts slow, other teams will have the option to run all game and with the loss of Art Jones and the untested guys on our DL, I'm a little scared about our run D.  It might not matter vs. teams like Buffalo, but if we have to go into New England, Pittsburgh, Denver, etc.. come playoff time, we would really benefit from coming out firing rather than relying on magic from Andrew in the 4th quarter.  So, I'd like to see us start out fast on offense from day 1.

Also, I want to see no injuries.

Boy, you guys may want to temper your expectations.  Last year we absolutely shut down Aaron Rodgers, the only quarterback in the league that is unquestionably better than Luck.  If you think you guys are going to put up 400 yards of total offense, you are in for an unpleasant Sunday.

28-17 Colts. Interested to see how the dline and line backers do trying to contain a quick running back in McCoy and a mobile qb. I want to see a strong showing from Gore whether by running or getting passes, especially since he's on my fantasy team haha

Buffalo will be easy pickins - i worry a bit about their (Buf) D-fense but just in the first half of the game due to our slow starts out of the gate.  By halftime we will be up 7, by end of 3rd up 14, by end of game 24.  Nobody will be able to cover T.Y. & our Tight Ends.

We had the 3rd best pass defense in the league last year. We absolutely can cover anyone you throw at us.

This is a "more to lose than gain" type of game for the Colts. If we lose the game, it sets us back for AFC HFA and lots of questions about the coaching re-surface, but if we win it, "meh, it is the Bills" type of reaction will ensue, IMO.

This will come down to the wire. Bills will play with energy and the crowd behind them. Tyrod Taylor will give us fits. Their D and ST will make it hard for us.

I expect the Bills to be ahead for a quarter, and then the Colts start getting back into the game and pull off a 27-20 win eventually.

What about your rushing defense?  I'd assume the Bills would be solid again this year on the Defensive side of the ball?  The reason I ask is because I am thinking about picking up their defense for fantasy.

i think it will be 7-21 Colts.

I want to see 80 + yards rushing by Gore.

I would like to see Moncreif top 100 yards receiving.

I would like to see our defense hold Shady to less than 80 yards.

I would like to see the defense as a whole get 3 sacks collectively.

and lastly at least one interception.

Do it. Our D is projected to be first or second in the league. We were fourth last year, but now have Rex Ryan and ten returning starters. Our sole loss was our worst starter.

With the Colts you have a QB mamy are predicting to win the MVP, on an offense many are predicting to be the best in the league. Against this, you have a Bills QB making his first NFL start. You'd think the Colts would play up-tempo, attacking offense, try to get a two score lead and see how this QB responds under pressure, having to play keep up. This is the type of game where if you jump out to a lead and force this QB into mistakes, it could be over in the 3rd quarter. I'm guessing, however, that Chuck and Pep might approach it differently.

All I can say is thank gawd the Bills are starting Tyrod Taylor and are missing Marcell Dareus..  if they had Dareus + any semblance of a QB, I would actually pick them to win at home.

We're gonna need the OL to step up big because that Buffalo defense is nasty.  Luckily, with Dareus out, I think Gore will be able to run the ball reasonably well and keep it a somewhat balanced attack.

I'll say 24-17 Colts.

The packers have a different type of WR than Indy. They've only got really one guy that can run and that's Jordy Nelson. Everybody else they had was pretty inexperienced.  Buffalo is no slouch on D, but I just think our guys have a different skill set than Green Bay.

I honestly don't know what to expect other than a very tough game.  If I'm not mistaken Buffalo beat New England in the opener last year so they are certainly a very formidable opponent to open the season against.  With all of our changes to the D line...it could be positive or work against us.  Buffalo's defense on the other hand is very good.  Hopefully, we find a way to get out of there with a season opening W and no significant injuries.

And we had the beat passing offense, which on paper has been upgraded. Running game too with Gore. We have more weapons on offense than any team in the league. Including Green Bay last season. TY, Johnson, Dorsett, Moncrief, Fleener, Allen, Gore. You simply dont have enough capable people to cover them all. And no it doesn't matter than you upgraded you with Ronald Darby since we have a first round WR that actually outworked Darby when they faced off in college. You'll find that Luck's ability combined with all our weapons to be a much toucher challenge than Green Bay. As far as your defense, Luck has beaten the Seahawks, Niners (when they were a top quality team with a ferocious defense) etc. Not really concerned.

Not sure why you took your time to make an account here and boast about your defense and try calming our expectations. We are a top quality team with playoff expectations. Since Luck's arrival we have beaten almost every quality team in the NFL. It's only natural that we expect to take care of business against a non-playoff team like the Bills. You can call it arrogance. I call it realism. Truth is, you're just a small bump on our road to the playoffs. After our game, you won't even be a blip on our radar.

We are much deeper and more diverse at the WR position than the Packers. Also, we clearly have better TEs. Add Gore to the mix, and it's not even close. Our offense is the best in the NFL. It was in terms of passing last year.mtvis year, we'll have the running game too.

Although I could see this game going either way...I LOVE the smack being talked here.  +1 for that.  ha...ha.

Seattle couldn't when we were far worse. Sorry.

Dude probably doesn't even watch Colts games. Otherwise he'd remember we've beaten better teams with better defenses than the Bills. And that with a worse Colts team. This is the best Colts team on paper since Luck was drafted. The only thing that concerns me are the Patriots.
