LaRon Landry on special teams

Wow, great news. To think I was actually proud at one point to have him on our team. His training regimen away from the team, his lack of interaction with his teammates, his PED use and his seemingly obsessive godlike view of his physique and lack of what I consider a team/football first attitude really sours me as a fan. I think the team is making a great decision with Landry, and doing so by admitting they were wrong when they gave him the contact they did.

Agreed 100%

I don't know what to think about what he thinks, but he either steps up, or gets to ride the bench 'til his contract is up.

Pretty simple, really. I don't think it matters whether he's okay with his role, it only matters whether he does what the coaches ask him to do. If he can't even do that, then he'll be out the door.

Time for him to become a team player or get use to being on the bench. LaRon has been a disappointment to me so far.

I love Sergio's energy and constant chatter to fire the D up. Loved how it was 12 years to the day that his dad passed that he got his first start.

Showem what they missed out on in New England Sergio!!! Hope you have a monster game Sunday night!!!

I'm sure he will still see some snaps on the defensive side of the ball. He's just not going to start the game for us. The guy has great speed though and who knows.. Maybe he can actually make an impact as a gunner.

I'd be pretty happy about making $6 million a year for sitting on the bench and playing special teams.

you really think landry who is already anti-team is really gonna be ok with playing STs like some rookie wannabe

Lol say the rookie wannabe part to oooooo adam v,patty mac, matt Overton, Bjorn, d'qwell, fleener... hmmmm who else plays special teams thats not a rookie wannabe? I mean agree with you having him on st wont be the greatest pro team thing for him but to call special teams a place for rookie wannabes makes me laugh

This is a classic case of take the money and run this guy is only about himself

Absolutely, I don't see the downside to this.

Things may not turn out well for Laron, but it's all up to him now.

If I recall correctly, Dustin was one of the 1st people to not be happy about Landry's signing with INDY & this huge downgrade for him means that he is a bust for us. Nowhere near what he signed his contract for.

I gotta give Dustin his props on this one. Good call man. Bravo. Jesus, that's a ton of money to be hidden on Special Teams for. Ouch!

Speaking with the media, Julian Edleman said I have to worry about the guys on that defense.  Vonte Davis, Greg Toler, Darius Butler and "Laundry"(exactly how he pronounced it).  Now he only has to worry about "Laundry" on special teams!

Maybe so krunk, but regardless of what Edelman says who I do respect, it still doesn't change the fact that this new role for Landry means he's on his way out of INDY. I just can't envision him as a wizard or golden child wonder boy on special teams.

If SW1 is wrong, I will man up & admit it, but I don't have a good feeling about this new transition personally. Plus, Edelman has good to decent change of direction skills so I could see Julian making Landry miss him very easily.

It'll be interesting to see I'll say that.  Me I'm just waiting for my boy Dewey Mac to get a chance one day.

I want to see what he's got.  I think he's a Landry/Bethea tweener with smarts, just needs some experience to let it all out. Doubt I'll get to see much this year though unless some injuries happen, so I can only enjoy what

I've been seeing from him on special teams at this point.

I love this punishment by Coach Chuck he wants to do Peds now earn yoyr spot start from the bottom most players who get caught comeback nd suck(shawn Merriman) nd landry wasn't playing that good anyway, but i think he gets motivated nd gets some snaps blitzing nd som packages

Just read that Manusky has some sub packages that will include Landry...could be interesting.

    • Sure. I support that, too. What I don't get is people saying others need to stop discussing this subject or that people are ruining this message board by stating opinions they don't agree with.
    • I know this doesn't compare to your children, but I have genuinely put in an effort as well not to yell or get violent since I've got my Labrador Retriever 2 1/2 years ago. She is my life, and I always want her to be comfortable around me. I've finally got on some good medication that has lowered my outbursts, and I'm probably living a better life than I have since 2011 which was the last year I had a huge social life and was traveling and playing pokemon with all my best friends.    I just enjoy sports a ton and is still a mini-escape from life. I want to feel like I can enjoy a journey that my team can win a championship. If we lose, that's one thing and I'm fine with it as long as there is maximum effort given. When we lose and it's due to circumstances out of our control (injuries) seemingly every year, that's when I become apathetic towards the team over time.   The Atlanta Braves had a horrible season with injuries this year, but because we won a WS three years ago and make the playoffs every year, it's more forgivable. When we just lose every year, or the times we win it's a QB like Rivers who has 1 year with us and he retires, I just give up. I have no control to fix the team myself, and I resort to playing Madden instead.   Also, I'm sorry that you lost your friend in NC due to the flooding. That has to be horrible to go through. I have a bunch of friends in the South who lost power for 3 1/2 days and a cousin in Florida whose house got destroyed and she has to move in with her sister now. That hurricane sucked for so many people.
    • I’d say Levis is worse than AR as of this season. He’s single handedly lost the Titans multiple games.
    • You’re right. You have every right to have your opinion.    Odds are stacked in favor of failure more than success in the NFL. Sustained winning is hard. Avoiding injuries is hard nowadays for QBs… More than likely due to the odds the Colts will be continuing to search for a QB in the future.    It is what it is.
    • I’m sorry you feel this way. I’ve struggled with it in the past. I’ve made a post a few weeks back but it bears repeating:   I used to get irrationally angry watching Colts games. It was bad. It was violent. Looking back, it was embarrassing.   What finally changed for me was seeing the look of fear in my little children’s eyes staring up at me with tears. It… washed away my cares for the Colts. That probably sounds bad, but I no longer care as much about what happens with the team. It was one my entire persona. It was as if my own personal happiness stemmed from the team’s success.    All I can tell you is that at some point you’ll learn to separate the Colts from your personal identify.    There are other things truly more worthy of your worries and stress than a football team. I promise you.    Be well and cherish life. I recently lost a great friend in NC due to the horrible flooding. Life is too short to waste it away fretting over the Colts.
