If this signing doesn't happen, Beanie Wells is still on the market if Grigs wants another RB.

No thanks. We already have one bust from the 09 rb class.

Don't know much about him TBH. Looks like he has a solid YPC behind Arizona's porous O-line. Though he was pretty terrible last year.

lol Ok looking at Beanie Wells stats some more, he's constantly injured and under-produces.

I hang my head in shame of the suggestion haha

Would you consider Brown a bust?

Imo he's not amazing but he does a job. True there are quite a few people who could do it better but he could be a whole lot worse as well.

*Thinks back to a couple of weeks ago when I was mock drafting Luck, Wayne, Ballard, and Bradshaw with my last pick*

I knew a team would pick Bradshaw up but, I had no inkling of Grigson and the Colts being the first serious suitor.

As I look at the NFL as a whole... there are not many teams AT THIS POINT IN TIME that have a hage need at RB.

Jets(but they went and signed Goodson), Chargers(Still won't get off the Mathews train), maybe Green Bay(when DON'T they need a RB lately... even with Lacy)

He has done nothing to deserve be a first round pick

Damn the crap that pops into my head sometimes... that little gem has so much dust on it, it was pulled from my grandpa's record collection...

Sure, but he had nothing to do with where he was picked. His draft position was irrelevant the minute after he walked off the stage, except to record keepers and a GM's legacy.

That was the worse top 3 draft picks at RB ever, 1st Broncos Moreno, Then Brown, Then Wells just think about that

Green Bay doesn't need any more backs. They drafted Lacy and Jonathan Franklin, plus they still have Alex Green.

Only for Lesean McCoy to get picked a few spots later in the 2nd round. :sigh:

Very true but he hasn't had more than 150 carries in a season. He would produce more if he had more carries but I think he would get injured more. Plus you have other people such as Ballard who can do a job too.

Just think how well our team would have been if we picked McCoy instead of Brown, plus he would have complemented Manning's Ariel attack :sigh:

The only glaring concern that I have on Wells is health concerns at only 24. His 1 year starting 14 games he had 10 td's and 1047 yard on 245 carries (4.3 ypc), So the kid can play. I do have questions about his attitude.......He openly said he was auditioning for other teams because he believed he was going to be cut by the Cards...Which came to pass however so he was right....But still. If Im a curent teammate I dont want to hear that, It sounds like he checked out

I kind of really want him. Now that I think about it, he would help us so much. Him and Ballard would probably split carries which would keep each fresh all season long. Health is key for running backs and I don't trust Brown or Carter. I like Williams as a pass catching back but not to get many rushes.

I really want this signing to happen. I think the guy is a winner and could groom our young stable of RB and teach them how to be champions

That concerns me that theres a major snag.

Id love to have him, but wont be upset if we dont land him.

Ehh......If it was meant to be, then it'll happen.  The Colts will have an improved team with or without AB.

This should be merged in the already merged Bradshaw topic. Just because we haven't heard any news in a whole day doesn't mean we need another topic to ask ourselves if we've heard any news.

AB will teach Ballard ...  and maybe Brown..   how to step into the "hot tub", and step onto the training table,   or ride a stationary bike....

I think it's a lost cause, after negotiating with him for two days and no deal, I seriously doubt he's going to sign. We'll be alright without him.

    • They don't have to key on him as much with Brissett in the mix.  I don't think he'll hit Hilton in this game for the home-run or long-balls.  Different era of arm and mindset now that Luck's gone.
    • it all depends on what Frank decides to run on game day
    • It's also worth mentioning that Carolina has a top ten OL, while TB's OL is bottom 10.  I've never been a fan of Winston, but it's much easier being a QB for Car, and it's certainly nice to have a guy like McCaffrey to take the pressure off a backup.   Also, didn't Winston have like 5 INTs and 2 fumbles. Pretty hard to win with 7 turnovers. Very surprised Carolina didn't beat them by more. I think Winston's QBR was under 10.0 lol.
    • Now now this is a bit of a strawman. It's one game, in which both QBs were playing so they had a direct impact on each other's numbers. I mean it was hard in some ways for Allen to put up yards when his D kept gifting him great starting position.   To your wider comparison, Allen is a backup covering for a starter and they have a RB lighting it up. I'm not surprised they've kept it quite conservative. Even then, it's never been an O built on gaudy passing numbers.    Winston.. is when you've found out the answer to "is he the guy", but at least you won't die knowing. Has the arm, doesn't have the QB smarts IMO. I'd certainly rather have the latter than former if I had to choose one. But what's wrong with wanting both?    Again... and I will keep repeating this, why is it so wrong to want to see if Brissett is capable of slinging it when needed. Quite prepared to be patient, but also not going to ignore that he has some worrying shortcomings so far and it's not just his reluctance to push it deep. Progressions, locking onto receivers, a few misdiagnoses of defenses (overly critical of me I know). I'd almost be more forgiving if he was trying to make plays and making mistakes, but he's being very conservative and still making some fundamental errors. In a short span of games you'd live with it, but the hope is that he's going to be our guy for years right?
