I went for other and that other being mike wallace. He is expensive yes and he is said to be going to the dolphins, but let's face it last year they couldn't have been more wrong with the dolphins and FA ( as we saw with manning and flynn)and mike chappell has been saying the colts weren't or aren't not interested in possession WR, rather young quick receivers on the outside, which to me seems like wallace

New Rumor

#Colts have dropped out of the race for Andy Levitre. They're now going all-in on a pursuit of Louis Vasquez.

Dunno how reliable this guy is (He's a writer for stampedeblue if anyone wonders), but for those wanting Levitre, looks like he isn't coming here.

I hate to toot my own horn,(not really :D ) but I've been saying this every since Levitre's name came up. Who knows though, it could all be smokescreens, but IMO he don't fit the system and the Colts know that.

I completely agree. If we were seriously willing to invest the capital in both of them, then by all means go for it; however, for the sake of not crippling our cap for interior O line, Vasquez is the superior choice FOR US.

I heard once or twice late last night on twitter that the Colts are also interested in Brandon Moore from the Jets (The guy who's butt was in the way of Sanchez's face on that fumble)

He's a little old, but wouldn't be a bad option for a 2 yr. stop gap.

Funny, Mike Chappell was just on the radio with Dan Dakich saying the Colts haven't shown much interest in Vasquez but rather in Levitre. There's just as much blowing smoke in FA as in the draft. He did say he believes we sign Avril first.

If you think about the Vasquez - Charger situation , this makes a lot of sense. The Chargers have a mess at O Line and they have been reported to have just made a minimal offer to Vasquez. Seems obvious that they don't value him that highly. We have two Charger guys on our staff and maybe they see it similar ? The Bills on the other hand have a pretty good O line and maybe just don't want to expend top guard money with their other needs.

    • Him saying 'he's just too talented to pass up' on With The Next Pick just screams that there was hesitation but he was too talented to pass on
    • WalterFootball  assigned a team draft grade of A to four NFL teams - Colts Lions,Bengals, and Ravens. Eagles receive an A+ grade.   "I love what the Colts did in the 2024 NFL Draft. They helped Richardson and also improved their pass rushing to help combat the many other talented quarterbacks in the AFC. Only two of their picks scored worse than a B-, but they were late-round selections."   ADC South: Titans C+, Texans B, and Jaguars C-.   Latu, Tanor Bartolini, and Jaylon Simpson received A+ grades
    • I thought it was a good interview but kind of odd regarding his response to AD. He said he got lucky with the AD pick but yet he traded back and he was still sitting there for them to pick at 52. He must have felt comfortable that he was still going to be there at 52  if he was  indeed their  pick in the 2nd. Makes one wonder  how come teams passed on this guy and if the Colts wouldn't have pulled the trigger how far would he have fallen? Love the pick with all that being said. I see this guy measurables and the game tape and he could be elite. I would contend that if his production would have matched his skill  set, you would have been talking about his guy in the same conversation with Nabors and Harrison. The tape is outstanding and he is an impressive athlete.  His post draft interviews were interesting in terms of his personality.
    • Agreed. I think as a draft, it is going go down as unremarkable. I think the OT's will thrive at the next level but not sure bout the other positions. Even our draft pick at #15. For the best rush end to make it to 15  kind of says something.   High  rated rush ends are     top 5 pick as they are so highly coveted.  I could see the wrs and a couple of OTs picked before our guy. However, teams didnt pull the trigger on Latua. Still love the pick
