The Semi finals are here, and it's filled with seeds 1,3,4 & 7. Robert Mathis was so so close, when I combined with votes from other sites, I found out he only lost by 1 vote. 1 vote!!! That's too bad. Either way, we've got 2 good matchups, between defending champ Marvin Harrison and Tony Dungy, and Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne. Let the best men win!

1. Peyton Manning

vs

4. Reggie Wayne

3. Marvin Harrison

vs

7. Tony Dungy

Wow this is this is a tough one. I like reggie, but i dont think he can beat harrison. But manning has done more for the team i believe. But a WR vs WR would be cool, but the two record holders vs. each other would too....decisions decisions.

Manning

Harrison

Obviously Peyton is going to win this. What would be interesteing is for you to put Reggie and Marv up against each other to see who would win.

First Peyton and dungy.

Second and I do t mean this in a jerk way but this isn't a sports tournament it's a forum you can always start a poll thread on Marvin or Reggie of you want and frankly it would be a welcomed change for this off-season at least for me. I think when done in the past people have sided with Marvin with it normally becoming is reggie Wayne a hall of famer or not debate.

Wow, I cant believe this can even be debated.

Manning and Marvin easily.

Reggie is great, but don't even compare to Manning in the slightest, and Dungy brought Indy its 1st championship, but he took a serious hit with the whole Caldwell fiasco IMO. I blame him and him alone for that mess. A mess that should have never happened because Caldwell never had any business what so ever being an NFL head coach.

I agree 100%, and I should add that I don't make the matchups, I create the seedings, and then place them in a generator on a website, and the site creates a bracket. Also, the bracket isn't random, they do it based on how all brackets are created.

So, for all the guys saying "Why is it Marvin vs Dungy" or for any other matchups, it's how the bracket falls, I don't interfere with anything.

Oh and one last thing, for the people saying that Peyton will win... I've said this numerous times, it was him vs Marvin in the 2009 finals and Marvin won.

    • Oops that’s my mistake. Yeah I completely missed that. My apologies.   But yeah he’s one I would keep an eye on for us next year. Him and Will Johnson. It’s a little early to be talking about what the Colts would do in the draft, but I would put money on this being the year Ballard takes a DB high. I could also see him go D-Line again. I love college football and watch as much of it as I can, but I’ll be paying attention to a lot of the guys you listed at those positions. Last season I watched a lot of the teams that had the elite receivers (Washington, Texas, LSU, FSU, etc…).   I’m also getting ready to fire my draft podcasts I listen to back up and look at summer scouting. I’ll come back for some discussions as I get info as I always enjoy talking prospects with you.
    • The issue some may have is the kind of journalism where Bob McGinn created an article that affected a young man's career based solely upon anonymous sources.   I'm confident you will reply back referring to your experience as a journalist with some version of 'without anonymous sources, there would be no journalism'. I value reading your insight about how sports are covered and I don't disagree that anonymous sources can be important. Its fair for anonymous sources to give background about things they are not comfortable saying out loud.   However, I'll add that perhaps its also fair for Bob McGinn to use his anonymous sources to help him find the story and craft the story, but if nobody will put their name on it then Bob McGinn needs to dig deeper before he launches infotainment into the world. He can't take back the damage he did to AD Mitchell.
    • So damn classy as always. I still rewatch their pandemic golf game from 2020. They just have awesome chemistry together. Hopefully they can get Tom on the Manningcast again for more hilarity.
    • Uuuugh.     I think it would’ve been better if I had preached a healthy dose of patience and NOT patients.
    • Feel the need to clarify something.   The writer of the article, Bob McGinn, is one of the top-10 football writers there is.  (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) McGinn does NOT have an opinion on Mitchell.  It’s the unnamed scouts who have the negative opinions.  McGinn is quoting them which is his job.  He is supposed to do that.     Ballard even acknowledged that in his own way.  He literally said “put your name on it!”   Well, McGinn’s name IS on it.  it’s his column.   But it’s the scouts who are saying things anonymously.   If there’s an issue, (if) it’s with them, not McGinn.
