Would still like to grab TE OJ Howard out of Alabama in the draft, though.

No thanks, don't want to spend a high pick on someone like him or Njoku when we have glaring needs elsewhere and Doyle and Swoope are fine.

Doyle and Swoope are our guys at TE. You need a 3rd TE, preferably a blocking TE. Williams may not even make the roster IDK. But he's fine as a 3rd TE. Doyle and Swoope will probably put up around 500-600 yards a piece with 5-10 TD's a piece. Eric Swoope will be one of the biggest breakout players in the NFL this coming season bet on it. I absolutely love what we have with him and Doyle. Just need Haeg to become a monster RG, Clark or Good one to be serviceable at RT, and Moncrief to stay healthy and out offense is gonna be top 5. Moncrief is a star in the making once he stays healthy and plays a full season. Good luck covering TY, Moncrief, Doyle, and Swoop.

This signing is the first that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I'd much rather draft a TE later in the draft (rounds 5-7) in a loaded class than sign someone with hardly any production.

Can`t wait to see who we draft in the 6th and 7th.
Again you post without knowing what the guy is being brought in to do.

We will.  Competition for Swoope and Williams

we needed a blocking TE to compliment doyle and swoop

i think swoop is a break out candidate too, like doyle was last year

we could have one receiving specialist in swoop, one hybrid in doyle and a blocking specialist in williams

Ran a 4.56 tho:thmup:

If he can stay healthy I think he has all the tools to be a nice compliment to Doyle and Swoopes. Swoopes with the finesse, Doyle with the versatility, and Williams with the physicality. I wanted to draft a TE and this guy has no receiving production, but F it I love his potential he's my new favorite for that 3rd spot we don't need to draft one unless the value is too good to pass.

Another guy with potential ran a 4.56 runs clean routes works hard is nasty in the blocking game and is a handful to bring down prototype for the Air Coryell also plays SP teams . Hasn't produced in the NFL but if any of this is true sounds like a guy to give a shot .

Aside from RB, you really don't want to spend any draft picks on offensive players. A guard maybe, but the holes on D are so bad that you want to devote as many picks as possible to D. We need like 2 ILBs,2-3 CBs, a NT, and a FS. Probably a 5-tech as well. I wouldn't mind taking a George Kittle in the 4th, but the more picks that go to defense the better.

The  naïve part of me was hoping he would fall to 2nd or 3rd round. But  realistically, I know that's not gonna happen.

I have a feeling the Giants will take one of them in the first. Dolphins got their guy or else I would have thought maybe they'd go Njoku

I'm glad we have someone who can block.  Somebody has too.  If he is above average blocking and dyle is at least average, when we line up in two TE, we can put a hurting on those backers.  It is also the easiest formation for the OL.  They can pin their ears back and move the line of scrimmage.  I know running is old school, but here is hoping.

So wth are we visiting with Mychal Rivera now? Someone start that thread im too lazy. But still F Mychal Rivera man why go after a 4th TE and not follow up with Zach Brown if he doesn't sign with Miami. What a waste of money if Rivera signs here

    • The Colts have been in Indy for 40 years.   And we have a lot more banners in the rafters than most teams.
    • My observations.....   SS is imo not a very good coach right now.  Perhaps he can learn but I am not liking what I am seeing.  For one, his play calling is very very vanilla.  Pretty much Frank Reich 2.0.  He was supposed to be an offensive guru.  Innovative.  New.  I don't see anything from him that says that at all.  He does not play to AR's strengths and instead seems to want to make him into a drop back QB.   It wasn't until the 4th Q that he started to play to his strengths and you could see AR's confidence rise like the morning sun.  His entire demeanor changed.  He actually got excited.  And for heavens sakes....ese Taylor much much more.  Get him some swing and screen passes.  USE THE GUY.  He is the best player on the team by far and yet is used half as much as he should be.   And let me say this.  The play right before the 2 minute warning.  The kickoff? To me SS not telling the returners to run the ball no matter what just to get rid of the 2 minute warning?  A coach should be fired for that.  That is SO BASIC of an instruction to tell your kickoff team that I am sure it is something that would happen in pee wee football.  The fact that SS failed to do that throws up so many red flags imo and is exactly something that Frank Reich would do.   I don't think he is very quick in his feet and his ability to adapt is poor.  And for a QB guru?  AR seems to be regressing.  Not progressing.   AR imo will be fine.  More than fine.  He has all the ability in the world and I really have to wonder why there are so many anti AR fans on this board.  He has played all of what?  7 games?   Who do you guys want instead as qb?   Wentz?  Rivers?  He is young.  Very talented.  Very high ceiling.  I will take my chances with him.  I really wonder though why he is not progressing with his accuracy.  Throwing a ball to a WR is something he has been doing since he was a kid.  It is almost like fielding a ground ball in baseball or shooting a free throw.  It should be a very basic thing to complete a 5 yard swing pass.  If I thought he was overwhelmed mentally or just did not have the talent to throw I would say that.  But he normally makes good reads and does not seem at all flustered by NFL defenses.  But his ball just sails.  Again, for an NFL Qb guru, SS is really failing AR in this regard.    Chicago is not a very good team and the Colts would not have probably won against many other teams but a win is a win so it is what it is.
    • It has nothing to do with how storied they are.   Because its actually harder to get tickets to thier teams games, so they make even more on them than people in Indianapolis do.    Its simply because they dont sell thier team out to make a few bucks, because they care more about it than people in Indianapolis. They would rather go to the game.
    • I hope you are correct. I don't feel that way though. I hope I am wrong but 6 interceptions in 3 games? On pace for 34.....
    • This entire sub-thread has been about the fans.    If the packers up and moved next week to Duluth, would those fans have the same level of loyalty as the Green Bay fans? No.
