In November he was at that airport. As it turns out, that wasn't from today.

To be exact, that would have been right before Week 10. He worked the Bengals/Giants game on Monday night. So..could be New York. Could be anywhere else. Except Indy.

Was Irsay on the plane that landed in Houston? Did he meet with Gruden for ten hours? Is Gruden in Indianapolis? Will he be the Colts new Head Coach? Is Pagano be the new defensive coordinator? Find out on the next episode of Dragon BALL Z!

I thought Gruden also went to middle school in Bloomington, at whatever Tri-North was called back then.

Gruden's dad was a coach at IU and then Notre Dame. Gruden was pretty lucky as a kid..was around the IU basketball team in the 70s and then his dad goes to Notre Dame when Joe Montana was (I think) a senior.

Translation: Gruden is not going to be the Colts coach.

I just don't get the hype with Gruden. He won a SB with Dungy's team, then it all fell apart. He hasn't coached in a decade. Being an analyst is nowhere near involved as coaching, so I don't see where that helps him other than familiarity with players and coaches. Also keep in mind how much coaching has changed since he was last a HC and how different the players are.

After the dumpster fire that TB became after that SB season, what makes people feel that Gruden should have power over personnel decisions?

I think that people remember a good coach in Oakland involved in a blockbuster trade to TB, and winning a SB that season. Over the years, his name is brought up in HC vacancies every offseason and I think the longer he has stayed in the broadcast booth, the more hype his name gets. A majority of Colts fans are desperate for a change and the hype of Gruden makes him look like the HC messiah.

While he did take Dungy's TB team to the Super Bowl, don't forget the team he played in the Super Bowl was literally the team he was the head coach of the previous year.

I always hate hearing that comment with Dungy`s team! The fact is Gruden won and Dungy didn`t. Dungy barely won a SB with the Colts!

Some people on here are ignorant to this fact, can't comprehend it, or are in denial about it...The fact he accomplished that shows his greatness as a coach...Gruden would turn Luck into a machine...

I get your point, and yes, some of us are getting desperate for a change, but we also want one that has the probability to be more than an average HC. Otherwise we might at well stick with Pagano until a truly great  alternative transpire.

I would personally prefer Harbaugh, but there is no denying that Gruden has the possibility to get the best out of Luck and will fuel a change of mentality. I have no idea whether we would take a risk on defense with him.

The chance of Gruden coming here is another question. Could happen, but probably won't for various reasons.

Edit: This was posted before the Gruden deal was shot down.

    • They want to give the young DBs a chance, like they've been saying since the end of the season. Maybe losing Daniel Scott (again) changes things a little, making it slightly more likely that they add a veteran at some point. But it's been a month and they haven't done anything, so I assume they'll wait and see what camp looks like.   I personally would prefer that they sign a qualified veteran, even if he's not an incredible game changer. Any of the vets whose names we've been throwing around since March would be nice to have. But they obviously aren't eager to do that, and I don't think it's about cost at this point. I think it's about giving the young players room to prove themselves.    There a few veteran established safeties and corners still unsigned. I think they have options, at least for now.
    • This really bothers me because many people don't know this, but the Vikings are my 2nd favorite team because my father was a diehard Vikings fan. I have never really posted that I don't think, maybe I did to @NFLfanat one time? I liked Denver too when Peyton went there but who didn't lol. I grew up having to hear my dad talk about Fran the greatest QB ever and in 1998 when they had Cunningham, Moss, Carter, Smith, and Randle - it was nonstop. So this hits home with me pretty deep. That is another reason why, I always barked backed at people talking bad about Kirk, because was actually good.
    • I had him 3rd round too. He was possibly winning a starting job on the Vikings outside of Byron Murphy if I remember right. Had a bright future. Hate when this happens. As you said, only 24. Way too young to die. I just turned 37 July 1st, so that's scary to think about.
    • Kid had everything, big, strong, fast, had the enjoyment of being drafted by the Vikings family, was going to make big money too. I had him going 3rd round coming out, I was close. This is really sad, only 24!
    • This was terrible. You never expect an active NFL player to pass away, much less someone who just got drafted a month ago. RIP Khyree Jackson and his teammates.   Also my condolences to @NFLfan. Must be tough to go through this as a fan of the Vikings. This is a nightmarish situation. My best friend is a Marlins fan in baseball, and he had to go through this with Jose Fernandez.    I thought Jackson was going to be a hit at the NFL level. Unfortunately, we will never know. Prayers to his friends and family that they can get through this tragedy.
