I think there's too much overreaction going on in this thread. For one thing, I'm fairly confident that Luck will play, despite his questionable status. Secondly, I'm confident in Hasselbeck. The chances Johnson sees the field is low, in my opinion. I'm not worried.

luck hast thrown in 3 days and Matt was absolutely horrible in preseason there is nothing good to look forward to

Colts Will win this game.

Hasselbeck will be fine. In preseason he threw a lot downfield. Be won't be doing that this game. He has always been a west coast qb. That's what I expect the game plan to be . Lots of quick, short throws.

And a strong dose of Gore wont hurt.

Luck has thrown sparingly.  I think they're keeping him out more as a precautionary measure.  No need to risk making the injury worse in practice.  Let him heal up as much as he can and play on Sunday.  With that said, his effectiveness could be compromised.  As for Hasselbeck, I don't take preseason games too seriously.  I wouldn't be too worried with him

been reported he wasn't even on the field so far today and we just signed Johnson to the roster there is no reason to do that on a Friday Johnson was even out there taking snaps today

yes but his accuracy on the short throws was off too lol but I do like that you point out how he does look for the short before the deep pretty much spot on

Oh man..This signing is not good. Luck will not probably play. Hasselbeck will be hit multiple times during the game and get injured then Johnson will come in....Either Hasselbeck can channel his inner iron man seahawk self or this will be a blow out game. Colts will show all the problems that Luck have been masking for the past 3 years.

I wouldn't bet on our chances. We've looked horrible this season and then we lose our starting QB. It took everything we had last week (Luck's heroics in the 4th quarter) just to get a win. The Jags aren't great but Bortles is improved and they just beat a talented Dolphins team two weeks ago. How will we score points with Hasselbeck? Our offense has been inept all season how is it gonna be any better with Hasselbeck?

Of course part of the reason (a rather big part I'd say) the Colts have looked bad is because Luck has been playing badly.

Sorry, I had to edit this to laugh at the bolded part.  The Dolphins are not talented as a team.  They have a few positions that have talent but they are not a good team.

So, if the Colts win it's just because they are playing the Jags not because the Colts are perhaps better overall than many on this forum think. But if they lose it's just because Grigson is a bad GM?

Grigson is a bad GM lol and this team has tons of holes and lacks talent in a lot of areas

Colts aren't that good outside of a few players everyone else is a back up on any other team

Luck hasn't played well but you can't possibly tell me that Hasselbeck gives them a better chance to win. The Dolphins are a talented team, they just have poor coaching.

The Colts have quite a bit of talent and they don't have as many holes as most people want to pretend.

Does Hassel give the Colts a better chance to win than Luck.  No, but only because last week's 4th quarter Luck is always there and Hasselback cannot be that good on his best day in his prime.  But I think Hasselback can and will play better than the Luck we have seen for 10 out of 12 quarters so far this year.  And I guarantee you MH won't check to a pass play for 14 straight plays in the first and second quarter.

we have holes at CB S ILB OLB RG LG and C

The only talent we have is on offense and the only talent on D is Vontae and a promising Anderson

    • The issue some may have is the kind of journalism where Bob McGinn created an article that affected a young man's career based solely upon anonymous sources.   I'm confident you will reply back referring to your experience as a journalist with some version of 'without anonymous sources, there would be no journalism'. I value reading your insight about how sports are covered and I don't disagree that anonymous sources can be important. Its fair for anonymous sources to give background about things they are not comfortable saying out loud.   However, I'll add that perhaps its also fair for Bob McGinn to use his anonymous sources to help him find the story and craft the story, but if nobody will put their name on it then Bob McGinn needs to dig deeper before he launches infotainment into the world. He can't take back the damage he did to AD Mitchell.
    • So damn classy as always. I still rewatch their pandemic golf game from 2020. They just have awesome chemistry together. Hopefully they can get Tom on the Manningcast again for more hilarity.
    • Uuuugh.     I think it would’ve been better if I had preached a healthy dose of patience and NOT patients.
    • Feel the need to clarify something.   The writer of the article, Bob McGinn, is one of the top-10 football writers there is.  (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel) McGinn does NOT have an opinion on Mitchell.  It’s the unnamed scouts who have the negative opinions.  McGinn is quoting them which is his job.  He is supposed to do that.     Ballard even acknowledged that in his own way.  He literally said “put your name on it!”   Well, McGinn’s name IS on it.  it’s his column.   But it’s the scouts who are saying things anonymously.   If there’s an issue, (if) it’s with them, not McGinn.
    • And when/if a team signs one of those safeties they’ll be made to look like a genius while Ballard is called a fool.    I think what’s more likely is that an injury will inevitably happen and a team will bring in an available free agent. That could be training camp. That could early in the season. You just never know.
