TKnight24
The 3rd player in our @Colts Offseason Sleeper series is WR Duron Carter (@DC_CHILLIN_8). You may have heard of him. http://t.co/EXS3KmZtEN— Steve Andress (@ColtsReporter) April 16, 2015

Exodus
Cris Carter had the best hands in NFL history. If what they say is true about "like father, like son", then we can expect some sick OBJ styles catches from him this year. I can't freaking wait. Cris Carter was/is one of my favorite WRs, I'm stocked to see his son play for us.
ColtsLegacy
Sir Buzz Killington at your service . . .I don't see Duron creating much separation in the NFL. He's not a great route runner, not very fast, and despite his very good height -- he has a thin/not solid frame, so I don't see him being a great target in traffic.I think he could progress into a solid pro down the line but I don't see him being an immediate success. Track Guy
I think this year he plays the role Moncrief did last year, the 4th WR on a team that likes running a fair amount of 2 TE sets. You'll see him some, but he won't really be a major part of the offense as a rookie.

Those were the same issues that sent him to Canada. He doesn't strike me as a hard worker. That's what school is work he hated that. Valpo2004
He'll have a hard time getting on the field unless there is a WR injury. The biggest thing to like about him is his catch radius. The thing about his CFL tape that impressed me most was his ability to catch imperfectly thrown balls. In terms of speed he's not very fast for a NFL WR. He's gonna have to learn to run good routes and make good catches in traffic. Then he may grow into a possession receiver. But given our depth at WR, I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see him on the field much this year. Andre Johnson will be starting as our possession receiver. TY and Moncrief hopefully will be the big play burners. Honestly Carter and Moncrief should both follow Andre Johnson everywhere and just copy him. ColtRider
Not to be overly aggressive here. But I think there might be some Colts Fans very surprised at the end of the season. He finally has a great team around him from an NFL perspective. The adjustments can be made if he's willing to pay attention, work hard, and incorporate vision on the field of play via his teammates and his father's advice. The guy can contribute. No doubt about that, IMO.

SteelDragon
I'll be curiously watching Carter this season. I agree with an earlier post that he'll play a Moncrief- type role, maybe showing something towards the end of the year.I'm beginning to wonder- is this team too loaded at WR? Are the Colts anticipating Luck breaking all of the NFL season passing records? Don't get me wrong, it's a great problem to have... it gives us some security if Carter doesn't pan out, or Moncrief doesn't make a sophomore leap. But I am curious how we rotate these guys. If Carter or Moncrief steps up, most secondarys are going to be hurting. There's no way they'll be able to cover ty, AJ and Moncrief/carter all at the same time and cover our 2 TEs....

Flash7
I tend not to get too excited about the possibilities because we've seen reality too often. Last year at this time, many on this board were saying that we had three #1 receivers in Wayne, T.Y. and Nicks with Moncrief as a possible break-out player. (Let's not forget our excitement for the potential of Brazille and Rogers). As it turned out, Wayne was good for half of the year, while Nicks never really performed to his abilities. T.Y. was a true #1 receiver who at times was taken out of games, and Moncrief did become a break-out player, but somewhat at the expense of Nick's inability to perform. Looking forward, I think T.Y. will continue to be stellar. I think Andre Johnson will be awesome for a year, possibly two, and Moncrief will have improved. Carter will have competition, just as any and all other receivers on the depth chart fighting for position #4.

Spot on. Mainly because he'll most likely be the 4th WR at best. Hopefully he's mature enough to accept his position in the pecking order and want to work hard to earn more reps. I really like the blend of experience and youth we have at WR right now.
SDakColts
we could be to stacked this yearYeah we COULD be stacked this year if everything works out as planned. I like the position group myself as a whole with the combination of different skill sets. However, there is still a lot of big question marks for the group as a whole. We know what T.Y. brings to the table so no question there. We will have to see how AJ translates over to our offense, and we have to see if Moncrief makes the leap from year 1 to year 2. Duron Carter is completely up in the air as far as what he could possibly do in the NFL. Vincent Brown should be a solid #5 WR so in my mind that leaves question marks throughout almost the entire position group.

SteelCityColt
Moncrief was a 4th WR heading into last year too, look how he turned out. Anything can happen, Pep just gotta get him on the field With all due respect Moncrief was 3rd rounder in a stacked WR draft and in a season where Reggie got injured and Nicks didn't exactly wow, only managed to put up 444 yards in the regular season. Now that's not intended as knock on him, I think he did fairly well and shows promise. If Carter can match that production and playing time he's done very well. It's still a darn good pick up though, a no lose gamble.
