I hope Grigson got into the office at 3am to start the day. Any later is irresponsible. I hope he doesn't go home till 2am and gets one hour sleep. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF THE YEAR outside of draft week. Now let's get moving on some signings !!!! Open the vault up and spend money like you've never spent before. A Super Bowl could be in the wings within 2 years, unless we have a coaching fail. We can't CREAN. I'll bring the Doughnuts, Coffee, and Extra-Strength One-Hour Energy.

My guess is Grigson hasn't even been home since Saturday...and probably hasn't slept much at all..

Yeah .. that was the Cleveland or Dallas game I think. Then he seemed to play better . Started all 3 playoff games at RT.. no ?

I was at the Dallas game and the horrible plays was on the games after that, that I watched on TV. Just because he started, didn't man he played well though.

Of coarse it doesn't but I don't remember him getting slaughtered in those games.

You are all jumping the gun on this. It could be something like 1.5 mill signing bonus with another 2 mill in base salary guaranteed. #rd year could be something like 4.5 mill. That would make this pretty much a 2 year deal at 2.25 per year. I think it will be something like that , which is not horrible.

If you're not going to give him a chance to start, then it's too much. IMO.

That's why I think this signals that he'll be in the mix at RT. I'm fine with the terms, personally.

In unrelated news, Bryan Bulaga just signed for $7M APY. Time to extend AC while the market is set?

There's still a $3-4m/year difference between RT and LT. I'm not sure Bulaga's contract has a lot of bearing on AC's. I think Jake Long getting released is more relevant.

But I'm all about extending him this offseason. My thinking is $8m/year.

Tough to really comment until we see the contract and find out what his expected role on the team is.

2015 cap hit $3.375m. That's not utility reserve money, IMO.

Still not a horrible contract. All the guaranteed money is this year . We can cut him next year with a zero cap hit. These Colts know what they are doing. You have a banged up , high priced RT that is pretty good if healthy. If he's a walking injury .. like 2014 , you have a stop gap guy to plug in at 3.3 mill. Plus you have a wild card in U. John. We have a RG (Thornton , Herremans )that will cost peanuts , or maybe Reitz wins that job.

IMO... you're right this doesn't look like a bargain . But when you look at the whole picture and realize it's really a 1 year deal if we don't need him ... it's not so bad.

I'm not saying I think it's a bad deal. My thinking is that Reitz is meant to be more than a backup. Entirely conjecture, but the fact they were willing to pay him that much probably says something about the projected depth chart.

I think the Cherlius situation makes it pretty tough to figure

    • So true. I was watching his presser yesterday as I wanted to get a feel for him after some of the negativity surrounding his personality on the draft day, and I LOVED how happy and excited he was. I had a little fear that some of the fan base would buy into the negativity prematurely and make it a rough start for him, but I don’t think so anymore.    I think he and Latu are both going to be playmakers for us, if not this year then very soon. Have a feeling they bring exactly want this team needed to finally take off. They bring a lot of faith to me, together with Richardson and Steichen. Can’t explain it, but the pieces to the puzzle is suddenly to see on the table.
    • Cubs beat the Pirates tonight but the Brewers won as well, what else is new lol. Cubs are now 23-16, Brewers are 23-15.
    • Couldn’t agree more! The chip on his shoulder is a very good look. That said, I have always valued the “clutch” gene in players.    It’s truly something that can’t be coached and can’t be taught. AD has IT! Period. Exclamation point! He has it. Name a better receiver in the college football playoffs/ championships ever…   You can’t teach that. He has it. He can be that guy. He is the 33-32 Colts over the Pats, 4th and 1, AFC Championship, game changer. He can be that guy… Will he? I have no dang idea. But does he have the ability to be? Yes! Resounding, yes!
    • I absolutely LOVE that Mitchell picked 10 as a constant reminder that 10 WR’s were picked before him.  That is a GIGANTIC chip on his shoulder.   So far I like everything I’m reading about the kid.  There may be speed bump or hiccup some day….  But so far so good.
