Very true.....I am torn between right and left with Reitz.  I think Reitz is a tougher blocker for Watt.  But he and AC work well together.

Watt typically lines up as DE on base D, but seems to almost always come inside when they go Nickel...  and they always target him on what they feel is weakest lineman in that situation.

So....leave Reitz where I want him in the first place..LG!!!  Number 99 is everywhere.  I love to watch him.  Maybe we can get some of that blood flowing out of his nose :)

I was much more about last game than this one.

I agree the short week and the Texans having been in the state of Texas for almost a month is a little troublesome but they are on a short week as well. I would imagine Foster likes the extra time to rest after his back surgery. They have plenty of older players and bumps and bruises too.

It is a division game so it will be hard fought but I think we get the W if we make Houston beat us and don't help them. No turnovers, smart special teams plays, no short fields make them drive the ball. The things a good team does we should be fine.

Then the extra rest should help us get healthy and rested for the Cinny @Pittt and @NYG tough little stretch. Then the bye before NE comes to town. I really like how the schedule sets up for us.

I am almost positive.....but painkillers may still have me off base :)

Either way he was a starter and is a great back up. He is replacing Thorton and Louis is replacing a rookie. This line is a good as anyone we have run out there this year.

I wish they'd figure the ankle injuries out are we wrapping with scotch tape??

We overload the left....could see some big runs IMO.  Looking forward to seeing if Harrison goes on the road.

We can also surprise a few folks by moving our underrated Jack Doyle towards the weak side for run blocking. Have Dwayne Allen on one side and the SAM typically takes that strong side and the whole line moves left with Doyle as the 2nd TE/HB blocking with a head of steam :)

Reitz is certainly a lot better than McGlynn was at guard so I'm not terribly worried. It just sucks to have Thorton and Mewhort gone win they looked good.

The Texans don't have anyone in the slot to worry about so Butler's presence shouldn't be missed that much. Hopkins and Johnson are outside receivers, and we already know Vontae is going to take Johnson out of the game. It'll be Hopkins on Toler as the matchup to watch.

Foster is regaining his old form, so Jones being out isn't the best news, but the run D has played pretty good. They made LeSean McCoy look like Shonn Greene. I assume RJF gets the start there.

Harrison's pass blocking could be a factor against Watt though, 0 pressures given up last week going against Ngata is impressive. Messed up a bit at times but still solid in pass protection.

Harrison did not face Ngata.  Ngata is a DE not a DT or NT for Baltimore. Nor will Harrison face Watt unless they stunt Watt to the inside.

Freeman is also questionable for the game.  Hopefully A. Jackson sees the field more than Josh "Zero Field Awareness" McNary

McNary has disappointed me very much.  I would like to see what the 'thumper can do as well.  Not sure he is any help covering TEs.  He is slower than McNary.

Nothing about the prediction, but I do have your avatar as my fantasy football team photo; it is a good choice

I too can't make a prediction because I do not know what the short time frame will do to preparation and on field execution.

But I have your Avatar come to life again on Dancing with the Stars!

He may have a slower 40 time but he doesn't look slow on the football field and McNary is so slow to react to the play that any raw speed he has is negated.  It's one of the reasons why I think moving him to OLB would help.  Tell him... run up field, if the RB is coming to your side tackle him, if you can't tackle him make him cut back to the inside.

    • When I seen Roster Moves as the title, you scared me. I thought maybe we were bringing back Charlie Whitehurst since the AR news. (joking)
    • Well 30 I doubt the Vikings called themselves or maybe they did…
    • Actually, I kind of disagree that it would have been a contender. Most contenders are tight up against the cap and adding a receiver who was going to get north of $30,000,000 would have been very difficult. Plus contenders 1st round picks tend be very low in the 1st round. For example if Buffalo was interested , you would probably want multiple 1st and those are like say at 25 (basically 2nd round talent). I just dont see it happening and thats not appealing to the Vikings. The Colts are appealing because their pick was at  say #15 and they may have had the cap room to fit him under. Thats why I don't believe a lot of what is out there. 1st you have to look at each teams cap and say "who can fit a receiver for $30,000,000.00 under our cap. I bet it would have been few teams. The rumor was that the Vikings tried to trade him to say the Chargers. If i was the Chargers why would i take that deal? At number 5, I could have taken Nabers for a lot less money and many were saying he was the best receiver. Sure, he could be bust out, but I would have taken the chance. I bet if the Vikings would have offered Jefferson to the Cardinals, they would say no. Why would I give up Harrison for a guy, who is proven i must say, but is wanting $35,000,000.00 a year? I will take my chance with Harrison. Ballard has said they tried to move in the draft.  Like I said, maybe the move was for Jefferson. I always had a hard time he was trying to move below. I think that would have taken so much draft capital for a position he does not have in high regard. Jefferson would have been a safer move as maybe you give up a lot less draft capital but a lot more money. Offer their #15  and a 2nd rounder. People will say  a #15 and a 2nd rounder for an all pro wr? I think the wr market is totally out of control. Ballard could offer that because he then says to the Vikings now I have to turn around and give  him $35,000,00.00 a year. The Chiefs moved Hill because of economics and they won 2 super bowls without him. You build around the qb and not a wr. I do think the wr market will some day crater like the rb market. I think a lot of these guys will come up for their 2nd contract and teams will  try to move them. That is why I was not big on moving up to say 4 or 6 to get one of the elite wr. You would have to spend tons of draft capital and then come four years later what are you paying Harrison and/or Nabors if they play out? Like $40,000,00? No thanks. I will continue to look for diamonds in the rough. Here is an example of positional value. Do i think the Cardinals would have traded for Jefferson and then the Vikings say take Harrison at #4? No  I do not. Now if say the Cardinals need a pass rusher and the best one was there are #4 and he was considered elite   and Cowboys said we will trade Parsons for your pick. Do I think Cardinals take that trade? I bet they do without hesitation even if Parsons was in line for a monster contract. That is just the way I see it and always will when it comes to certain positions.
