Holmes is activated for the first time this season and Satele didn't start due to injury.  I think Holmes being activated for the first time today is the answer to your question, he's just not ready to start.

Best game by our O line in a long time!  It is nice to see Castonzo back up to speed, Thorton looks like the real deal and ..... Yes McGlynn played a real good game.  Obviously we would all like to see Holmes succeed as our long term Center. But, based on todays performance, McGlynn should have the job until Holmes is ready.

Looks like the pieces of the O-line are starting to fit together...still wish we had Thomas though.  Costonzo looked incredible against a very strong DE in Smith.  He had to switch sides during the game and it still didn't work.

Agreed, I really hope we keep this lineup and don't just give Satele his spot back. This lineup played extremely well against one of the best defensive front 7s in football.

Yeah, it's kind of a head scratcher.  McGlynn who is apparently our worst offensive linemen, playing center actually looked better than Satele????  Hmmmm,
