Time to bring him back....

Even when Bob went to San Diego, he got injured quickly.

The only time I would agree with grabbing Sanders is in Madden 13. His injury score sucks, but his overall is solid and since most safeties aren't involved in plays anyways, he tends to stay fairly healthy, since Madden never injures players not involved in plays.

I saw a guy at the game today wearing a Sanders jersey with duct tape over the name and Waste Of $ written in Sharpie on it. That kind of speaks volumes to this. Sanders had his great moments, but he could never stay healthy enough.

Harsh. The guy played harder than his body would let him....can't really fault him for that.

I actually like the Lefeged idea.. I've disliked Zbi since his ND days and gave him a little respect when he joined the squad just because he's a Colt now, but I just have a hard time with someone that can't think and react on the fly, too much second guessing himself... and he won't just say mod edit time to time and go for broke to make a play... I wanna see this guy run his feet through a tackle, stop catching people... on the TD saving tackles I understand because he is squared up, and it's get him down anyway you can and those RB's move a lot faster than they look like they are on TV, but I will see him coming down in the box to fill after the snap and instead of just committing he trots up and makes the contact, but with that dudes size too many times its an "im gonna let you fall forward for 2-3 yards after i hit you" type of tackle... and clowning aside, dang I miss when Bob! When he used to see the ball handed off and fly up from 15 yards looking for contact, cant find it in myself to rip the guy lol I don't think we will ever see another safety that small disregarding whatever RB, TE or WR had the ball, regardless of their size...lol he was my hero! :-( uhhhhh don't judge me.. but yeah Zbi fires me up, get him out of here

Although Bob is still one of my favourite Colts, just for his all or nothing style, this can't be a serious suggestion. Well unless you want someone to keep Austin company on the sidelines?

More seriously SS is one position this year where you can see the plan has been to bring in a player with some NFL experience albeit one who isn't a superstar by any means. If he works out you look a genius, if he doesn't then you address it in the draft or with a more recognised player with cap room next year via FA.

So, he regretted the purchase of the jersey?

That guy is an imbecile then because Bob Sanders, more than anybody, got us that SB ring and win that we all had dreamed of . He was the real MVP of that team. For this alone, he was worth the money. We all knew he wasn't going to last the way he played and such, Kelvin Hayden was the real waste of money. He made a play in the SB, because Grossman just happened to pick him to throw a horrible pass too , but that contract for a barely above average to average corner was one of the mistakes that cost Polian his job.

If you're referring to the real life Bob Sanders, he lasted a tad longer than that. With the Chargers, he hurt his knee late in week 2 against New England. Was put on IR afterwards.

In Madden 13, I saw him as a free agent early in my offline franchise, so far as I know, there wasn't a team who took a chance on him. He was healthy, so I doubt anyone dumped him. I guess none of the teams wanted to take a chance. I rolled the dice on him, and I'm now up to week 7 and he's not injured yet.

In Madden 13, I signed Bob Sanders and started him over Z. His injury rating is so low that he gets hurt in just about every game...sometimes he gets hurt 3 or 4 times in the same game! LOL! Finally, after a big hit, he dislocated his elbow and is gone for the season.

Well good to know they made the game like real life this year!

    • I wonder if there will be settlements to the people that have ordered the NFL package for many years   Im in it for 20 years.......
    • Don’t worry. This is pretty common for the 2024 Reds. They always win the first game of the series in convincing fashion, and then the bats get cold for the rest of the other 2-3 games.
    • I gotta say you make arguments that you’d never accept from your students because they’re so superficial.      So saying Ballard has been mediocre to bad is tissue paper thin.  Why hasn’t Irsay fired this mediocre to bad GM?  Because he signed off on what Ballard did each year in real time, not after the fact.   Irsay knows Ballard has an eye for talent.  And as Ballard freely admitted in January, the Colts haven’t had more success because he failed to get the QB right.  These aren’t excuses, but it IS badly needed context — which you’d realize if you weren’t always looking for new ways to hate on CB.      As to what you and Moose “supposedly said”  there’s a simple way to verify.  Go to the Day 2 draft thread of Friday April 26.  It was between 3a and 4 my time when I saw it.  I believe it was recent.  Just add 2-3 hours depending on your time zone and you can see your conversation with Moose.   What was so astonishing, what makes me “prattle on” as you put it is how you two ever thought you were right?!?   Given your career choice you jumped to conclusions I’d like to think you’d never accept from your students.   Why you thought Ballard didn’t know more?  Why you thought you two knew better?   Ballard not only knows more, he knows dramatically more.  As I said in another post, he shared the tip of the iceberg.  He doesn’t share the part of the iceberg that you can’t see.  The 90 percent.  The absence of curiosity is stunning given your occupation.    Now, at the bottom of your post you brought up a new line of attack on me and I have no idea what you’re talking about?   I’m not an optimist?   Since when?  Based on what?   In my 12 years here, only 1-2 posters have ever made that claim.   So what are you talking about?     Finally….   You can stop calling me Sir.  It’s normally said with respect.  You don’t respect me at all.   I’ve extended olive branches publicly and privately, and both have been rejected.  Your choice.  So calling me sir is intended as an insult.   It’s old and boring.   Move on.   I don’t know why you “enjoy engaging with me”.   You take a beating.  But if that’s what you’re in to, be my guest.    Sorry this went so long….
    • He loves you, you just don't know it (sarcasm)
